Bashing and bullying - the other team the Boks seem … are … more partial to some bash and bully than any other team. … don’t their followers just love it! I’ve heard SA rugby described as having a macho culture They did start reining it in at some point. Now it’s “just physicality” The last time that I remember where they were definitely more thugby than rugby was touring Britain, maybe 2001(?) On the tour every team was thumping them on the scoreboard. In the last game against England they were shocking. Johnny Wilkinson, one of many they roughed up But their “strategy” of “physicality” didn’t work too well. Too focused on the biff. Final score England: over 50; SA: 3 😂😂 I guess the games esp the RWCs - international audiences got bigger and bigger. And the attention they got, got closer … They could no longer get away with much Any idea when they started playing more like the rest of the world?
This bias aussie commontars is not good for the game 😂
Big bias aussie commontars
I forgot just how bad Gordon Bray was as a commentator
This was first game for the Boks who went on an 18 game winning streak ..
17, but yes indeed.
The wallabies were enveloped after half time against the world cup champions of 1995
This was the late Greg Smith's (RIP) last game as Wallabies coach. The Wallabies really look disjointed in this test and tactically without direction.
I think it was also Carel du Plessis' last match as coach
Where were Eales and Horan and Burke for this match? All injured??
Probably rested since they couldn't win the series, and South Africa needed a massive bonus-point win to overtake them... guess what happened next
This was one hell of a Wallabies team. 2 years later took us out of the 99 world cup
The wallabies were bashed and bullied on the scoreboard against the springboks that day

The ABs were easily the best team in the 3N that year.
