Excellent advice! I have said, "ignore my dog she is in training" Haha 😅 it's a tough gig.

I cannot stress this enough! I have a 8 month old Samoyed and people try to approach when I’m training and dog gets very distracted.
BE WILLING TO TELL THEM YOUR DOG IN TRAINING. As it will build some bad habits and take longer for you to train your dog up.
Very good advice !!😊10/10 thumbs up n and sub from me

I’m not very assertive and I’m worrying about this. Lol. I pick my new puppy up in about 2 hours 😂

Love this, I honestly think it needs to be more normalized, NOT to just run up to every dog and start petting them.

I have a harness that can put patches on. Getting ones that say Do Not Pet and In Training.
Also if you're the type that feels bad saying no. You can also say that your Trainer said your puppy is not allowed to meet strangers.

I had to body block a kid who was roughly 10 a few years ago because he was coming in hot with arms extended.
Stared at his parents and told them to be better

It's not the kid's fault, or the parent's; not everyone is taught how to approach dogs. We can be assertive, but we should also be kind, because we don't want to give dog owners a bad reputation for being jerks to people who mean no harm and simply don't know any better!

@@RainbowFlowerCrow I educated the kid… I said normally you ask when touching a dog you don’t know… so he asked and I said not after the way you were ignoring my cues to stay back. Kid looked sad he was told no for the first time by a stranger
