Spot on man! I have several theories as to why Shin spared Ultima:
- Likely used as a reference to when Godzilla respected Kong for putting up a good fight after beating him
- Shin realized that Ultima was not a threat and was just like him being lost, scared and trying to survive
- Shin got scared and retreated at the sight of Legendary Goji approaching
That's what I think happened so far, can't wait to see this story continue :)

Shin's beam is probably more powerful since it slices throught buildings in an instant but ultima's is a bit weaker since it had to be directly pointed at one point of a building for a few seconds to actually go through
When we first met ultima yes this was true. His beam was weak. But later on when he got to 100m tall, he used his beam again and it cut through buildings just like shin godzilla. So I don't really know who wins.

Legendary can't kill shin sorry to burst your bubble kiddo but he need mother to go Thermostat and even then shin would most likely survive that seeing how his atomic breath is almost as hot as a thermo pulse and when he does well lets just say shin gonna become more unstable from absorbing that much amount of energy legendary just gave him so yeah kinda makes you wonder why did they make shin overpowered I mean legendary would defeat him but in the long run shin would eventually kill legendary or he might one shot him with a beam to the gills cause to be honest legendary hide is durable but weak compared to shin also legendary gills are a major weakness so hit then he might be dead (cause I thik his wind pipe is near the gills so yeah ain't no kaiju surviving that )

I vote Ultima for the next battle, but why?
With Ultima's way more powerful attacks and has more of a healing factor advantage with the added bonus of Blood tentacles and also Having Shins Deathray and depending on where there battling, such as let's say an Island, Ultima would have the advantage of using the red dust to alter the surroundings and wildlife, Monsterverse Godzilla would also have a hard time trying to fight Ultima with the Parasites that could jump off from Ultima and eat through MV's flesh and if a beam struggle were to happen, I'm guessing that Ultima's Atomic breath would over power the MV's. I'm guessing Ultima comes out on top, simply because, MV could not achieve burning with out the Help of Mothra (still really dumb ngl) and if an Atom bomb was dropped while there fighting. it would be an easy draw or tie since it could result to Ultima growing into a larger size, bigger then MV. Really the advantages I’d see for MV Godzilla would be speed and possibly physical strength, but besides that, Ultima outmatches him almost everywhere else.
In my opinion, we really haven't seen enough of Godzilla Ultima to determine just how powerful he is. I mean, think about it, all we really saw Goji Ultima fight was the large Rodan, Manda and Jet Jaguar. And in all those fights, he completely destroys them without much effort (excluding Jet, who he didn't even seem to be trying that hard to fight honestly). While MV Godzilla has had three whole movies as well as comics to show us various feats. MV's just a lot more experienced, smarter, faster and physically stronger in my opinion I'm not trying to say that Godzilla Ultima is weak, I'm just saying that he hasn't shown very many feats that are as impressive as MV Godzilla (Like the drilling down into hollow earth within a matter of minutes and surviving a fall all the way up from space feats, and various others I could list).
Ultima has more of a defense capabilities then MV, Since MV has being pushed down by a Building, Almost killed by the nerfed Oxygen destroyer, Ghidorah and a not very good design MechaG. Ultima has shown alot through the series, lets not forget that he started as Aqua that jumped over battleships, MV can use Hollywood logic to float on ships. People say that MV can take out Shin with the help of Mothra. But, Shin and possibly Ultima can adapt to there environments or situations. While MV . . . gets stuck in the same situations, in the 3 films, MV had to deal with 2 enemies in each one. Muto and Muto, Rodan and Ghidorah, Kong and MechaG. Ultima could have had more experience since each episode happens around the same time as the events are unfolding, like when the show cuts to the Otaki crew or Mei. Ultima could have been fighting the Rodan's, and Military all at once or also has fought 3 manda's at once. this is all just speculation, but Ultima still comes out on top.
The reason why I said the Oxygen destroyer was nerfed in Kotm, it didn't make Godzilla vanish into bones and the same to the local wildlife, while Kotm, makes it like an Atomic Bomb that slowly Kills MV. Ultima did deal with his universe's Oxygen Destroyer, but we don't know where Ultima itself went to. and MV may tower over Ultima, but in SP it said Ultima was still growing. so lets say Ultima grew to at least half the size of Godzilla Earth after 2 and a half months. MV's Atomic breath vs Ultima's Atomic breath. MV's May have the wide advantage while Ultima's can be a Ring or a Beam that can cut through anything and make it into molten steel. MV does have the more physical advantage but it might not work against Ultima due to the parasites on Ultima to be able to climb on to MV and slowly chip away at his flesh, MV's Regeneration takes time to heal while Ultima's is like wolverines healing factor but it has a offensive attack, Ultima's blood can form into blood tentacles. MV may flinch when he gets attacked. Ultima shrugs it off and retaliates with an Atomic breath. MV may also have the advantage of speed but MV most likely lack in smartness. Ultima was able to take down a Rodan that wasn't nearly the same size as him but obliterated it in one Atomic ring. Ultima's body produces' insane amounts of Archetype which could alter the environment and wildlife meaning Rodan's, Kumonga species, Anguirus, Manda and Salunga like creatures could appear to back up Ultima. MV may have a chance against Ultima but it's like a 9.9% out of 90.1 . Ultima still has the upper hand but the creatures that Ultima could turn on him like Manda but I don't really see Manda lasting long when Ultima and MV fighting. The Archetype could also be strong enough to alter MV into Another Godzilla Ultima or something way stronger.
Godzilla Ultima could be any age since it could be from a alt-universe or appeared out of no-where, MV may have more physical advantages, Ultima has more of the Durability and ranged advantage, MV's Atomic breath could beam lock with Ultima's but Ultima's may be able to go straight through MV's Atomic breath and well 18+ MV wont be able to see the light of day. but if MV did manage to kill Ultima, Ultima's body could break down like the skin bursting open with the Archetype spraying everywhere like a smoke bomb. which could affect MV a lot. reason why is because throughout the SP series we see alot of the Military and main characters wear gas masks when entering the Archetype which means it could be extremely harmful to organisms not adapted to it or could lead to a mutation. so MV could become this monstrosity of a kaiju that could be more disturbing then Shin. I'm still sticking with Ultima since we see more abilities that aren't natural to a traditional Godzilla. while you could say MV has a secret weapon known as Hollywood logic. this Kind of reminds me the time when the entire Godzilla Community was split between Godzilla 2014 and Godzilla 2016 over who was the stronger Godzilla. Ultima would just tell MV godzilla he's a anime character and MV godzilla would die from fear. They said ultima could end the universe so mv gonna get squeezed like a stressball.

I thought Shin Godzilla was the strongest of all version? They revealed that he has a 9th evolution becoming a universal size Shin Godzilla with eco system planet Godzillas living inside. He has the fastest evolution among all of the variants.
Well he is since he can’t be killed and since his evolution is fast it’s just people can’t accept the fact that he can beat legendary and try to use informative form the movie to prove it even tho they don’t realize that it’s not helping them prove there point
Like what one of the other people here said it was his 8th form not the 9th. but I have a personal theory that after reaching form 8 he evolved into form 9 created the archetype in the show and then decided to try to take over other realities which is where Godzilla Ultima came from ultimately meaning that they're the same creature. like whatever form five was a bunch of creatures splitting off of form four with some other upgrades. (There's some more details than that because I've used this theory to connect every single Godzilla in the entire franchise but that is a story for another comment.) but that's just my own personal theory.

Ultima us a little more powerful than that after all ending reality wasn't him producing a super laser that just destroyed everything. It was the fact that him and the other singular points were all the exact same entity cracked and split across space and time as well as they're disagreement on what the timeline should be was more than enough to almost accidentally and reality but instead created a multiverse. Sort of like if you really put several toothpicks through a sheet of paper and pulled in several different directions instead of using all of them together to pull in One direction. Even though that you're in control of all the toothpicks because of what you're trying to do you'll end up tearing everything apart even if it's accidental.
I mean Ultima is also a higher dimensional being that sends avatars to other dimensions like the Ultima we saw here

This is how I’d rank Shin and Ultima
Melee Combat
Shin: 3/10 not much potential, his arms are pretty weak and his only method of attacking would be biting, stomping and tail whacking.
Ultima: 5/10 We don’t see much of ultima fighting hand to hand but i remember seeing him use blood tentacles so he gets a higher rating. (Though this can only be used if he has an open wound for the blood to come out of from what i know)
Speed:
Shin: 2/10 Slow af.
Ultima: 5/10 pretty average.
Atomic Weapons
Shin: 9/10 Op as hell, burns and cuts an entire city in half. Can also shoot out of his tail and back. Gets drained easily but can still attack targets with pinpoint accuracy while recharging, albeit with weaker beams.
I’d say the only godzilla that can top up shin’s destructive power is Godzilla Earth.
Ultima: 5/10 pretty normal. Takes some time to cut through multiple buildings.
Regeneration/Evolution:
Shin: 10/10
Ultima: 10/10
Both of them are pretty tied
Durability:
Shin: 6-10/10 Incredibly sturdy with the exception of its dorsal area. A base shin would have a durability of 6 but without considering the dorsal area he would get a 7. Through evolution he can easily become invulnerable.
Ultima: 5-10/10 Almost the same as Shin to be honest.
Defensive Capabilities
Shin Godzilla: 9/10 Back Beams make it almost impossible for projectile attacks to hit him and his tail serves as a secondary weapon in case his main body is attacked.
Ultima: 6/10 He can generate blood tentacles from his wounds so it does have good potential for defense, although this can only be activated when he’s already been injured from what I’ve seen.
Both are pretty powerful but if they were to fight I think it could go on forever. Two entities fighting over who gets to become God.
Ultima would have much higher Melee capabilities
His Beam is also stronger, his defensive capabilities and Durability are also better than shin

I agree with many but there is much to discuss.
In hand to hand I agree with what you described, but Godzilla Ultima has more capacity in speed, ramming, bite and the use of the tail, but we did not see him use his arms apart from the fact that the tentacles are from the terrestris phase.
In speed I agree with both, it is more if we add agility, they would have the same score, Shin is only agile with his tail and head and Ultima with his tail and torso, since the weight of the armor on his legs would be his disadvantage.
Regarding the atomic breath, if I disagree a lot with Ultima, getting used to his 4th form, against Manda and in the last chapter when he reached 100m it is seen that he can also cut buildings very easily and even at long distance.
In regeneration I do not argue anything.
In durability Ultima wins by a lot, when evolving from Terrestris it becomes practically invulnerable, even to attacks to the dorsal area and since the only damage it suffered was Manda's bite, apart from the fact that Ultima can evolve more faster than Shin and barely suffers from the changes.
In defensive capacity Ultima also gains more because of what was said in the previous point, when he evolves it is made clear that no weapon can damage him even in his dorsal area and because of that he no longer needs the tentacles that came out of his wounds, in addition to being able to resort to pushing or swipe with its tail with almost no need to turn around.

Only reason we didn't see much of ultimas h2h capabilities is because he didn't need to use it simply because not many would be a match for him except jj and even then ultima was so much stronger and durable that not only did jj lose the fight overall but all he could do was push restrain and stun ultima for a few seconds at a time until being overwhelmed, the atomic breath helped seal the deal

Godzilla ultima does'nt hold any dimension, that's misunderstood and his feats are burning a city slightly and getting obliterated by a jet jaguar that is way weaker than his 1973 counterpart.
