@@d.s1488 Paying high taxes creates a country where a lot of money can be put into education, healthcare, and a solid safety net in case someones business fails or if they lose their job. This creates a system where a person doesn't have to live every day in fear that their life will get ruined by a system where it's "everyone for themselves". Even though you might not agree with that, it's definitely examples where a government is set up to benefit the people, and not corporations.

The Left Party and other parties on the left have historically had different views on labor market policy measures and how these should be designed in Sweden and Europe. A central reason why the left sometimes comes into the background in these contexts can be linked to their criticism of the prevailing economic model and its focus on market adjustments. The left often advocates a more inclusive and solidarity-based policy, where the focus is on protecting workers' rights and security rather than simply increasing the competitiveness of companies.
Another factor is the political dynamics and the ideological division that characterizes the debate about the future of the labor market. The Left Party's proposals can sometimes be perceived as less realistic or difficult to implement within the framework of the current market economy. This means that they receive less support compared to more centrist or right-wing solutions that are perceived as more feasible by a wider electorate.
Furthermore, internal divisions within the left and competition from other parties with similar or overlapping goals can mean that their votes tend to weaken. This in turn affects how their measures and proposals are perceived and implemented in the labor market, both in Sweden and on a European level. In a time of increasing populism and challenges in the labor market, it may also be more difficult for left-wing parties to get their ideas heard, which means that their influence on labor market policy may be perceived as limited.

Why is it that the left in Sweden and Europe seems to have misplaced their labor market policy playbook? It’s like a game of hide-and-seek, but nobody's seeking solutions for the unemployed or those struggling from low socio-economic backgrounds. Instead, we watch as both the right and the left seem more focused on winning elections than winning hearts-turns out ideologies are all the rage, but job security doesn’t quite have the same ring to it. One would think the real competition would be who can champion the causes of the people rather than just the ballot box. Maybe they need to trade in their campaign slogans for some actual action-after all, unemployment isn’t just a talking point… it’s a live event, and right now, it feels like no one bothered to show up!

Everybody in the comments is saying the US’ welfare system is broken, but they fail to realize it was built to be difficult. If welfare was easy to obtain, more people would feel less of a need to get a job, this explains why welfare is hard to get and payments are low, and it also explains why the US’ poverty rate is lower then the “developed” countries it’s compared to. The poverty rate in the US is only 12%, compared to 20% in the UK and 15% in Germany. Considering the US’ size and population, these numbers are amazing, the welfare system is not broken, but instead effectively encouraging people to get jobs.

As a software developer, the bad experience achieved described about Florida's unemployment form is very likely to come from an unexperience team and not by design. Delloite has multiple teams, some are good and others are bad, there are differences withing this team about the UX they want to implement and the programming skills and features that are needed in order for the UX to be actually good and usable. Why is it that the left in Sweden and Europe seem to have misplaced their labor market policy playbook? It’s troubling when it feels like there’s no party willing to don the superhero cape for the unemployed or toss a lifeline to folks struggling in low socio-economic waters. Both sides of the political fence seem more intent on polishing their election brochures and pushing their ideologies than actually lending a hand to real people in need. It’s almost as if the only job creation on their agenda is creating more ways to win votes rather than creating actual jobs!

It’s amusing how the left seems to have misplaced their labor market policy measures-perhaps they left them in their other pair of sensible shoes! Meanwhile, there isn’t a party in sight that seems to give a hoot about the unemployed or those from low socio-economic backgrounds. It’s as if both the right and the left are more interested in perfecting their victory dance than actually caring for the people on the dance floor. Who knew that winning elections and waving ideological flags could take precedence over, you know, actual human beings? It's like watching a game of musical chairs where no one’s even thinking about who gets to sit down!

I then certified for my benefits weekly until my claim was processed and I started to get my payments. Michael Zeita is right, it's more of a Florida/conservative state issue than an all over America thing. I'm actually pulling in much more money on this unemployment claim than I was working. I was able to pay for an online course, and a new computer to take it with, which will help me get a work from home type job when I'm finished with the course. Not all of America us heartless.

Texas is in the same boat.. (before corvid 19 it was impossible to get unemployment benefits)
but instead of glitchy websites is a bunch of unnecessary rules..
like first you have to be a fulltime employee who wasn't fired for miss conduct and not fired for a bunch of other reasons too.. also part time workers and contractors don't get any benefits (and those kind of jobs are what most people are labeled as)
And of course if you do fit their perfect criteria then you get one check but in order to get another and another you have to fill out at least 5 job applications every week and show proof that you filled it out.. if you go to the office that means showing paper applications but sadly 90percent of jobs have online applications (so if you're like my bestie you don't own a print nor working internet at home?) So it gets even harder
And if you try using the state online jobcenter website to fill out job applications there...
    then it's complicated
    and the website is messy
    and hard to understand
and it's really hard to find jobs without placing a bunch of fliters in the search.. so very time consuming if anything.

I worked on this system. It's not deliberately designed to be bad, but the company that makes it has no aspirations to be good. It uses a lot of outdated technology, and the older programmers are very stuck in their ways. Lots of us pushed for reform, only to get the response of "This is the way we do things". The states never threaten to cut their contract and move to a different company's product, so there's no incentive to actually improve things. Basically it's a combination of no one in charge caring and entrenched interests.

nowhere in this world, you'll find someone giving you money easily. but it's always fast as lightning when they take our money.
My dad once said, "it's true money is not everything in this world, but everything needs money".

Just to put a update out. I contacted every inspector general my congresswoman and the media. The inspector general handled thing the way it needed to be done. If you are 12 weeks and waiting like me. I got payed finally!Make the calls. Even if its to a different branch like the inspector generals in the army or the VA by law they have to get your information to the correct inspector general. They are a important part in our government tasked with holding people accountable! Thank you vox for cover this issue. Please upvote so floridians can get this info!
