Thanks for this! I'm retaking f322, haha i can see my comment below from last yr, also i don't think the cr-p method i tired using instead helped me lol.
I think I've missed something... how do you determine the routes and what do they mean? Everything else makes perfect sense but its just that that has thrown me, probably something really stupid no doubt.
Sir,for the first example why don't you also put the water that is formed when 3moles of Carbon burns and also the carbon dioxide that is formed when 4 moles of h2 burns?
In your system that you're imagining, you're using enthalpy changes for *combustion*. Therefore you need to combust all the reactants and the products, and when you burn something, it basically reacts with oxygen don't it? (Ik this is super late but forcing myself to think )
You can always get away with Cr-p etc to calculate delta H but sometimes you do have to make sense of supplied cycle or add missing data to one then use it to calculate delta H. I always make sure my students can use them.
Hi! Sorry but what do you mean by having to add missing data ? I am terribly confused. Could you please give me an example where you have to use cycles?? Thanks and please , please , please reply !!!!! PLEASE !
Can you not just do this without drawing out the whole cycle? Or is there a reason to it. I simple just do reactants - products for combustion and products - reacts for formation.
Hi everyone!
I remember this as "R.i.P" because you have combusted!
Therefore Combustion= Reactants-Products
just started hess law, with no classes happening right now this has helped me a lot as I'm trying to self teach!
I have been struggling with enthalpies for ages and you have helped so much! Thank you :)
You're welcome. Thanks very much for the comment and good luck with the exam!
Thank you :)
People like you deserve to live a long prosperous life.
Thank you so much! 😊
Mess Around Account Kind of you to say. Thanks 🙏🏻
Your teaching is PHENOMENAL. Thank you!
You're an actual star! Never understood it until now👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This is how I remember it
Fat = People - Run
Formation = Product - Reactant
-->(Combustion is the other way round)
Combustion = Recatant - Product
thanks for this!
Virolite - Kai. Lool no problem ....
Sabiha Chowdhury dhonnobaad
+Sabiha Chowdhury this is so brilliant, thank you!
Noor-ul-huda W You're welcome :)
Thank you so much!
This really helped me understand Enthalpy, it was always a looming stress hanging over my head.
THANK YOU A LOT ! JUST GOT A NEW SUB your method of teaching is so easy to understand
you have no idea how much this helped i was bawling my eyes out mid class trying to understand it. THANK YOU!
Glad you’re sorted and thanks for the message 🙏
Great video, never understood it till now, thank you so much!!!
My teacher is awful at explaining this stuff, you've helped me a lot thank you
THANK YOU SO MUCH! YOU'RE A TRUE LIFE SAVER!
thank you so much hope you’re having a wonderful life 😊
This was so easy to understand thank you!!!!!!
Finally i understand enthalpy change of combustion ,thank you
Thank you so much; this was so helpful! God bless :)
Thanks man you are the GOAT of chemistry
I'll take that :)
Thank you for this video!
Thank you so much, bro!
You made my life much easier
Acee Glob Great to hear. Thanks for the comment 😊
Very helpful, thank you!:)
Thanks for this!

This is a great video, thankyou!
Thanks!
you're a lifesaver. thank youuu
Glad it's been helpful 🙂

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! HAVE A TEST UPCOMING AND THIS HAS HELPED ME SM 💗💗💗
Good luck from me!!!
MaChemGuy have saved this and your enthalpy formation video! They are very helpful thank you!
Rutu Shah Yay!
Do all three equations in any hess cycle have to be balanced, because in this cycle the oxygen atoms are not balanced?
Thank you sooo much ! :D
thx for you videos!!!!
Glad you like them!
In the exam would it matter if you put elements at the bottom instead of the equation like the previous video?
Never mind i got it now thanks
Would there ever be a time when you absolutely need to use a cycle? Can’t you just do it the usual way, reactants-products or products-reactants?
dont you add oxygen to the reactants and the products side?
Thank you
Sir,for the first example why don't you also put the water that is formed when 3moles of Carbon burns and also the carbon dioxide that is formed when 4 moles of h2 burns?
Great Video! but does it matter which route is 1 or 2?
Shona Lambe Nope and thanks
Hey, Have you done enthalpy of atomisation if you havent please do one about that i need it
I mention it in my Lattice Enthalpy 1 video
Where did that oxygen atoms come from in the first example

Is the enthalpy change you're finding out the 'enthalpy change of reaction' ?
But isn't the first example just the 'enthalpy change of formation'?
Indeed but it is also a reaction
Do we have to use cycles in the exam? Or could we just still to C=R-P and F=P-R?
Please replay *ASAP* as the exam is in a few days! Thanks.

How do you know which way the arrows go?
Ac dont worry I figured it out
Glad to hear it :)
@@sea5205 could you probably help me how do you know which way the arrows go? I haven't figured it out yet :/
does it matter which is labelled A B or C
yes.
Cheers mate, in class now and im bored.
Fantastic explanation but you sound boring be a little interesting. would be delighted if you did
Shut up fool
