  • Turns out that other demo featured a prototype.
    So: revenge. Revenge demo. This is not a prototype.
    (The difference is the sound itself. No features have changed. Not one).

    I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

    The only pedals I haven't gotten sick of or regretted buying are all ones that you have demoed. You show me the possibilities of a pedal far beyond what I would normally get out of it. If I had a pedal company, I would do anything to get you to demo my stuff.

    Dearest Knobs,
    Firstly, thank you for all the wonderful demos and gorgeous music that you create. I'm a long time listener and I've purchased a Montreal Assembly Count To 5, Hologram Dream Sequence, Walrus Audio Julia, Caroline Météore, Earthquaker Transmisser and a Chase Bliss Spectre as a direct result of your demos. I'm a HUGE fan and I LOVE all the purchases I've made as a direct result of subscribing to your channel save for one. That being said, after two months of toil, I finally came to terms with the fact that the Spectre was useless in the studio and in a live setting. At a gig, I had a front of house sound tech tell me I had an issue with my rig when I switched it on for a song because it is so noisy. Your demo made it sound gorgeous. I tried compression, putting it in the effects loop of a noise gate and anything else I could think of to mitigate the hiss and white noise but the tone would become lost. I understand the noise is a direct result of the pedal being analogue but, as a gigging musician, it's scared me away from even considering another Chase Bliss product. I bought it new for $350 and ended up selling it just under 60 days later for less than half. Does the Tonal Recall have a similar issue?

    • @ChaseBlissAudio
      @ChaseBlissAudio 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I'm sorry about your plight sir. Spectre is indeed a wily mistress. Shoot me an email at joel (at) chaseblissaudio.com I'd like to discuss something with you.

      Half the Knobs movie on Chase Bliss was about how Spectre was noisy but how that's okay for some people. Good on you for diving in though! And I've loved what I've heard from Chase Bliss. Keep it up Joel.

      I bought Spectre and Tonal recall, but as you did i finally (and was about to cry) sold the Spectre for the same reason (actually kept it 2 years) : fantastic toy and tool but too noisy, too extreme, i didn't find a "room" to actually use it. Even it it was the most beautiful pedal i owned and a sort of "being from a clan" i sold, yes, i sold... But Tonal recall is a different story : fantastic toy, tool AND deadly clean, i use it ALL THE TIME and will be buryed with it (what ? ok i will give it to my son)

      Nicodemo Lalli Try a used Vox Delaylab. The analog setting is very nice with more features, including a looper. It kind of helped me in deciding on another Chase Bliss pedal (; but keep pushing your music and that work will result in maybe a Tonal Recall!

  • @dewberry3043
    @dewberry3043 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do I need to set something on the dip switches to create those pitch shifting effect when toggling the subdivisions ? I cannot recreate that effect. I just got my Tonal recall and I'm trying it now.

    • @Knobs
      @Knobs  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't need to do anything with the dip switches, but you need to be using tap tempo. If you used the time knob, changing the subdivisions will have no effect. That should do it!

    • @neleknut2379
      @neleknut2379 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I didn't consider an EHX delay yet but it would really fit my needs because I'm running loops through effects most of the time and the tweakability of this thing is great and it's not that expensive if only it wasn't that big. But I will really have to check out this one in the future.

    • @WokeUpScreaming
      @WokeUpScreaming 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      nele knut Yeah I've been using one for years and you can get straight up gorgeous delays or really messed up sounds. The sound at 2:23 can be achieved too but setting a square wave modulation with the right depth. :) If you're running loops through it and tweaking it with your hands the possibilities would be endless!
