    To avoid the clothes from becoming twisted up, I use garment mesh bags. They work wonders and prevent the collars on the shirts from stretching out, as well as socks.

    Just fyi the washing machine balls (Amazon) prevent any tangles and you don't have to keep your dirty clothes so close together in a bag while washing them. I want my dirty clothes being agitated to get the grime out, no bags for me

    I am shocked at how much dirt comes out of the clothes. Yes the clothes tangle but it does a great job of pulling out dirt. Our basement got flooded two weeks ago taking out our furnace, hot water tank, and our new large LG washer and dryer. My portable washer has been a life saver. It's been working all day everyday since the flood. I am so glad I bought it.

      I set my Kuppet in my bathtub, and use the shower hose (after removing the shower head) and attach the washer-filliing hose to the shower hose.
      I am not worried about the clothes getting too twisted in knots. I wash, separate and then spin them, then drain and refill washer to RINSE, then spin them agai again, and RINSE again.
      Your tip about clothes bags are great for corraling socks, bras, undies. I must buy some.
      My wash side stopped draining, so what led me HERE was looking up videos on how to fix that problem.
      I can't stand using our apartment floor's laundry room, except maybe for the occasional use of a dryer.
      I got my washer/spinner (Kuppet) in August 2020 and it has paid for itself, compared to $5.55/6.00 per load to wash n dry using the laundry room.
      Thanks for your insights and helpful tips!!

    The clothes need to rub against to get clean. placing items with long sleeves or strings or hooks in wash bags will help tangle. But most clothes need to rub together to get their cleanest.

      Thank you for your comment but my clothing has never gotten tangled in the bags! 😊 my clothes are now way cleaner since washing them in the bags. The bag acts as an agitator in my case!

    • @jenniferdean901
      @jenniferdean901 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How does a bag act as an agitator? This is the definition of agitator : an apparatus for stirring liquid, as in a washing machine

    • @dcdc6762
      @dcdc6762  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@jenniferdean901 the bag serves a closed space where the laundry can hit against each other while being whipped around in the machine without tangling into a knot. Fabric on fabric going two different directions knocking against each other is what actually cleans your clothes. If you don’t use a bag your laundry will only tangle up and then swirl around the machine in a huge knot and nothing is actually being cleaned bc NO AGITATION IS HAPPENING. Fabric is not hitting against each other at that point it’s just tightly wrapped around each other. I’m not sure why you are being argumentative with me but hey I’m game!

    • @jenniferdean901
      @jenniferdean901 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I wasn't even angry. I was just asking a question. I didn't understand what you meant. You were the one that seems to have gotten mad. I didn't realize that the clothes were bumping against each other being stuffed in the bag; that's all. I just asked a question. As I knew an agitator was a machine that moved. So when you called a bag a machine that moved it made my confusion even worse. But thank you for explaining it to me.

    I have a Costway porta washer and I use it a lot more than my fancy very expensive washing machine. I do use the regular dryer for the big heavy stuff but otherwise I hang stuff outside to dry. And if mine goes out I’ll buy another one. The big fancy washers don’t use a lot of water and I need water to get my clothes clean. So I fill this sucker up as much as I’m allowed and I get clean clothes.

    Laundry bags are awesome for smaller things with strings or thin shoulder straps. I have a few sun dresses the ties on the shoulders. Without the bags, they get all knotted up. They still come out clean with the bags.
    Side note: don't over fill the bags. I made that mistake and the clothes can't agitate against each other INSIDE the bag to clean and they came out still dirty. Less is more.

      Thanks for the comment!!! I have a pump on my machine so I do not have to place it higher than the drain. I’ve seen people put their machines on two large buckets 🪣 beside their tub and it will drain naturally if you do not have a pump. I used to rinse while spinning using a funnel in my spinner water inlet and my shower head, BUT that wore out my spinner pretty bad and it sounded loud and terrible. I also wanted to save water. I have gone back to the wash, then drain, refill again with plain water to rinse for 9 mins, then spin. I leave my laundry in the bags the entire wash n rinse cycle until I am ready to spin, then I take the laundry out of the bags and place it in the spinner. It’s so annoying that the spinner can’t handle rinsing while spinning! I feel like that’s a design flaw. The spinner water inlet is a joke and too small to thoroughly rinse the clothes while spinning, that will take forever...I’ve tried for the full 5 mins and soap was still coming out. Thanks again for the view and comment!

      It weighs about 45/50 pounds. But it's easy to lift up and over the edge of the tub.
      I always do a "rinse out the washer side" and snap out the plastic filter to rinse it off too.
      It's never gotten a bad smell from either the wash or spin side. I store it next to the tub, with both wash and spin LIDS OPEN so any small amounts of water left inside, under the 2 tubs, can evaporate.

Thanks for your comment!
      Update! I no longer “rinse while spinning!” My spinner started sounding terrible 😞 like it’s going to break so I no longer pour water into my spinner water inlet while it’s spinning.
