After 10 years together with the same line up, these ladies are beyond a tight group, they can read each other like a book, they have become best friends (Yes, they actually like each other), almost sisters, they have a back catalogue of over 100 songs, these ladies are the real deal, IMO one of the best touring rock bands in the business

Then "Warning" MV next 🤘 Otherwise I recommend a live performance: "Moratorium" for example ❤ These ladies are masters at their instruments: Kanami (composer and lead guitar), Akane (drums) and Misa (bass). Then there is lead vocalist Saiki who is perfect for the Band Maid sound and Miku Kobato (rythm guitar, pure energy, most lyrics, fantastic backing vocals and harmonies). Miku wasn't able to play the guitar when she founded the bandin 2013. I don't know of any other band where the fans' playlists differ so much. So, this is just a quite random selection of songs: For some very special live videos try Freedom, Play, Real existence and Endless Story. With Moratorium (Live at Zepp), Rinne (MV) and Dice you can hear more hard rock while more catchy songs are Choose me (MV), Bestie (MV) and Alone (MV). And if you want to hear some ballads then maybe About Us (MV) and Daydreaming (MV) are good picks. But don't miss some of their instrumentals like From now on (MV) and Onset (Live). "You know when you find that new band and you want to binge it all ?" Bruh, ive been binging Band-Maid for 2 years now. Not just on youtube but there are some incredible live performances in Japan that will blow your mind and you cant find them on youtube because of copywrite issues. Also i saw them live twice last year. They tour the US often. Like every year besides covid.

Truth be told, I binged BAND-MAID for the first 6 months. BAND-MAID features all their players including the "barefoot bass assassin" MISA. More MISA? Check out HATE-LIVE. Then FROM NOW ON which is a rock/metal/prog instrumental that ranks with the all time greats. With more Awesome songs than you can shake a stick at you'll need to make some drastic choices. I call that the honeymoon period with any new band. Eventually they will settle and find their proper place in amongst all the other music you like. As far as Japanese bands go, I've had that honeymoon period with e.g. BAND-MAID, Gordon, GLIM SPANKY, Hitsujibungaku (羊文学), ASTERISM, BimBamBoom, Bray me, Wang Dang Doodle, re:lapse, Rubens (リュベンス), tiny yawn, and (right now) Miyuna (みゆな). It has got to the point that I should really change my channel name, but I'm sort of stuck with it.

Nice. Good reaction video. These girls write, arrange, and play their own music. That sets them apart from some other bands. The bass and drums are really strong. We Scandies have taken care of the darkest metal over the decades, we know Japan has been caring for both rock and jazz and some astonishing fusion, while Mexico has protected the not-so-secret group of 3 sisters since they were 10 years old for a decade, called The Warning (confusingly also the name of a "fire" Band-Maid song). Band-Maid and The Warning are hanging out in Japan at the moment, a fact that is melting minds all over the world.
Band Maid are asked to write many themes and closing themes for Anime. This was one of those. Band Maid are all great musicians and the bass is featured in most of their songs. As is a duel between the lead guitar and Bass. I am old fashioned and love this band because it reminds me of the great days of proper rock music. Band Maid can write and play most types of music and are just unique live. As they are in their thirties I am sure they would thank you for the rebellious teenager tag.

New sub here. You stand upon the precipice of either falling in love with BandMaid or getting distracted and thinking they are just another band. They're not. They are arguably the greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century. Hyperbole is very difficult to avoid with BandMaid so screw it. I envy you so much. There is so much wonderful music,, tears and laughter ahead of you if you keep listening. 😢😊 There's no way to describe here why all the things they do combine to create the music. Tons of riffs - enough to make an album for most bands in one song. More hooks than grandad's tackle box. Genre bending writing and performances. In damn near every song a sing along bit for the fans to keep us engaged. Word play between English and Japanese homophones is not uncommon. Deep collaboration between all members to allow everyone to shine. What they have done is harness their egos in service to the song. Akane Hirose and MISA are IMHO the greatest rhythm section currently active in rock music. Truly inventive bass and drumming - not over played but always interesting with unusual choices that make the songs rich. They're not just keeping a beat EVER! Magnificent composition and stellar guitar work from Kanami Tono and equally magnificent vocals from Saiki Atsumi grab us by the ears.Then There's Miku Kobato- no Miku no BandMaid. Founder, chief lyricist, vocal harmonies sung while playing rhythm guitar she is the backbone of this group. She's the lead singer who fired herself so that the lead singer would have a more rock and roll voice. She's the singer who learned to play guitar while in the band. A paid professional learning her instrument on the fly. Now she has her own signature model of Zematis electric guitar. She willed BandMaid into existence. I haven't even begun to say all I could. Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up. They are all in their 30's btw, so not really rebellious teens lol! Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. After 10 years together with the same line up, these ladies are beyond a tight group, they can read each other like a book, they have become best friends (Yes, they actually like each other), almost sisters, they have a back catalogue of over 100 songs, these ladies are the real deal, IMO one of the best touring rock bands in the business
Good first reaction! When I discovered Band-Maid in July 2020 binging is exactly what I did. Their live video was pack of awesomeness. Live is where the vocals shine - and this band, does whatever they want. They play all kinds of rock and more.

These ladies are masters at their instruments: Kanami (composer and lead guitar), Akane (drums) and Misa (bass). Then there is lead vocalist Saiki who is perfect for the Band Maid sound and Miku Kobato (rythm guitar, pure energy, most lyrics, fantastic backing vocals and harmonies). Miku wasn't able to play the guitar when she founded the bandin 2013.
I don't know of any other band where the fans' playlists differ so much. So, this is just a quite random selection of songs: For some very special live videos try Freedom, Play, Real existence and Endless Story. With Moratorium (Live at Zepp), Rinne (MV) and Dice you can hear more hard rock while more catchy songs are Choose me (MV), Bestie (MV) and Alone (MV). And if you want to hear some ballads then maybe About Us (MV) and Daydreaming (MV) are good picks. But don't miss some of their instrumentals like From now on (MV) and Onset (Live). And finally a very special live performance is Manners/Blackhole (Official Online Live)🍌 And there is more: For example the songs with Miku in lead, their christmas acoustic concert and the 'cover band' Band-Maiko ;-)

Not just on youtube but there are some incredible live performances in Japan that will blow your mind and you cant find them on youtube because of copywrite issues. Also i saw them live twice last year. They tour the US often. Like every year besides covid.

I call that the honeymoon period with any new band. Eventually they will settle and find their proper place in amongst all the other music you like.
As far as Japanese bands go, I've had that honeymoon period with e.g. BAND-MAID, Gordon, GLIM SPANKY, Hitsujibungaku (羊文学), ASTERISM, BimBamBoom, Bray me, Wang Dang Doodle, re:lapse, Rubens (リュベンス), tiny yawn, and (right now) Miyuna (みゆな). It has got to the point that I should really change my channel name, but I'm sort of stuck with it.

Band Maid are asked to write many themes and closing themes for Anime. This was one of those. Band Maid are all great musicians and the bass is featured in most of their songs. As is a duel between the lead guitar and Bass. I am old fashioned and love this band because it reminds me of the great days of proper rock music. Band Maid can write and play most types of music and are just unique live. As they are in their thirties I am sure they would thank you for the rebellious teenager tag.

New sub here. You stand upon the precipice of either falling in love with BandMaid or getting distracted and thinking they are just another band. They're not. They are arguably the greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century. Hyperbole is very difficult to avoid with BandMaid so screw it. I envy you so much. There is so much wonderful music,, tears and laughter ahead of you if you keep listening. 😢😊
There's no way to describe here why all the things they do combine to create the music. Tons of riffs - enough to make an album for most bands in one song. More hooks than grandad's tackle box. Genre bending writing and performances. In damn near every song a sing along bit for the fans to keep us engaged. Word play between English and Japanese homophones is not uncommon. Deep collaboration between all members to allow everyone to shine. What they have done is harness their egos in service to the song. Akane Hirose and MISA are IMHO the greatest rhythm section currently active in rock music. Truly inventive bass and drumming - not over played but always interesting with unusual choices that make the songs rich. They're not just keeping a beat EVER! Magnificent composition and stellar guitar work from Kanami Tono and equally magnificent vocals from Saiki Atsumi grab us by the ears.Then There's Miku Kobato- no Miku no BandMaid. Founder, chief lyricist, vocal harmonies sung while playing rhythm guitar she is the backbone of this group. She's the lead singer who fired herself so that the lead singer would have a more rock and roll voice. She's the singer who learned to play guitar while in the band. A paid professional learning her instrument on the fly. Now she has her own signature model of Zematis electric guitar. She willed BandMaid into existence.

Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up. They are all in their 30's btw, so not really rebellious teens lol!
Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. Thanks for the react, but don't compare Band-maid to baby metal the only similarity between the to band is their japanese, band-maid write their music, play their themself their song, band maid is more a rock band than a metal band. And if you want to continue your journay with them i suggest you the song " Hate? " live from yokohama arena or the music video for the song "Blooming" (that i think it's a masterpiece)

Welcome to Band Maid! The best rock band on the planet! (imo of course). If you want to binge it all, you'll have quite the task in front of you. They've been around since 2013 as you mentioned, but they are prolific writers. You'll have well over 100 songs to enjoy, and it's all great You can ask 10 Band Maid fans for a top 10 list and you'll probably get 35 different songs. This is on the heavier side of their music, they mix it up quite a lot. Enjoy venturing down this particular pigeon hole (that will make sense eventually)
