I remember when my dad bought bought this album for me. I was so excited. I lay in the living room for the entire night listening to this on my diskman. Had the entire album on repeat and fell asleep several hours later. I still have the album, and I finally get to see these guys in August. Thanks for the memories, from one wallflower to the others!
I think they're not. In late 90s they have successfully popular to the mainstream. The only issues i think of this bands failure is they are not solid band member. Jakob has the only one left in band. Since the last album 2012 glad all over. Drummer Mario and lead guitar vocals Micheal are replaced by some players.
You're not alone, for when I was 16, all I did was listen to CLASSIC ROCK, PROG, NEW AGE, and ANYTHING that had nothing to do, with the POP TRASH back in 1989. LOL :))) REAL MUSIC WILL ALWAYS THRIVE, FOR THOSE, WHO ARE REAL! :))) STAY REAL & CONTINUE TO BE YOURSELF! :))) HUGS! :))
Love the sound of the vocals. Fantastic band with a totally different sound all their own. Such interesting songs. Great to relax to and just soak up the goodness of this band.
Im a happily married man with three kids I love women and my children are my world but yes I love The wallflowers one of my best memories is me and my then fiance and there unplugged performance wow and honestly 100% agree with you he is a beautiful man there is something about the jayman's eyes you feel the music it's like you get sucked into those eyes it's so amazing watching them live truly an experience. I've met him in person on 2 occasions one the aforementioned show
I think what's great of these times we`re living is that any music from the past can be this generation of youth's property. I mean in terms of music and videos you got great chance to enjoy and make it "yours" the sounds of previous years or from other genres or branches of music. Music is never over, is eternal....
Weirdly underrated never understood why they weren't a bigger deal than they were plus Jakob inherited his dad's song writing abilities his songs are timeless
Where was I at when this came out when this song came out. I discovered Jakob Dylan recently. I knew of the Wallflowers. I was 23 in 1996. Anyway While I was driving , I thought it strange how I saw 3 cars going the opposite way in a row with 1 headlight on. The next day " One Headlight " video appeared on TH-cam. I played it. I couldn't stop listening to it, along with other songs from Jakob Dylan that are now my in my favorite folder.
Now coming down out of this swan dive to your arms I make no sounds when I move through your reservoirs. But I wake up quick, and I wake up sick as you abandon me into these fields of rank and file. Through this cloud I hear you breathing. Through these bars I watch them bring more in. Now I send back letters from the wasteland home. I slow dance to this romance on my own. It may be two to tango but, boy, it's one to let go. It's just one to let go. Now, boy, keep still don't spread yourself around. Get back in line, eat your bread, and just work the plow. 'cause you're not through they're not done with with you. Did you think you were the only one that's been let down? So sleep tight, little boys of the new damned. Another drop in the tidal wave of quicksand. Now I send back letters from the wasteland home. I slow dance to this romance on my own. It may be two to tango but, boy, it's one to let go. It's just one to let go. Now another bad idea gets through down the assembly line to you. You're every bridge I should have burned, every lesson I've unlearned, in this smoke filled waiting room with incarcerated lovesick fools I wait for you to cut me loose. But till then I send back letters from the wasteland home. Last slow dance to this romance on my own. It may take two to tango but, boy, it's one to let go. From the wasteland home I slow dance to this romance on my own.
@@GeoffWilde Love both albums. I would say "Bringing Down the Horse" had better radio songs but "Breach" was one of those albums that was the right time and right place for me.
@@gringogreen4719 All their albums are so good, pretty sure if you made a greatest hits it'd contain most of their material. I only got into the Wallfowers 3 years ago so i'm so excited for their new album!
@@GeoffWilde I agree with you on that. I am looking forward to the next album. If you have not seen the movie "Echoes in the Canyon", Jacob Dylan is in that movie talking about some of his influences. He also did the liner notes in the new Joe Strummer "Assembly" album. Jacob is a cool guy.
@@gringogreen4719 Yeah I managed to watch it last year, bit difficult find it in the UK for a while. Was a really nice watch, he didn't steal the limelight and just let the conversations flow
They're coming to Mexico City and I'm so glad that I can't express how happy I am. Of course, I'm going to buy the ticket for the concert in Corona Capital Fest.
Saw them perform this live. They were fantastic. Were better then counting crows who they were with but sadly the audience acted like it was a nobody band until they played one headlight
One of my first MTV experiences, and because of the shallow "reality TV" genre that quickly engulfed MTV, one of my last. I first heard this there in early 2001. By 2002, MTV-MusicVideoTelevision was dead to the genre. It has never made a full-scale comeback. And I actually thought this song was middle-of-the-road by 2001 standards, oh how wrong I was. I still like this better than "One Headlight"; still a fine song, but "Letters from the wasteland" is The Wallflowers to me.
Honestly there are good bands out there you just have to shift there the shit. Coming from some one a bit older. Every generation has the same problem, but the real artist always shine through.
I'll leave that story to the three law enforcement officers who ARE AWARE OF EVENTS LEADING UP TO, AND DETAILS OF THE INCARCERATION ITSELF . WOW WHAT A STORYLINE.
@FiyaSwugPeaceOut You my friend need to do more digging into modern day artists, specifically ones that aren't AS mainstream (not that being mainstream is BAD) as the ones you may hear on the radio, good music is still alive and kicking.
This band is so underrated

So true ,Jakob rocks 🤟🎼🎼
They're really not. They shouldn't even be in the "rated" conversation.

One of the best albums of the 90's. I saw them in San Francisco when it was new. Fantastic show.
I also did the same, except I would always play Pokemon Red/Blue at the same time?!?!?
I remember when I was 17 years, I was in love of Jacob Dylan and his music. I´m still listen to this guys
To me, The Wallflowers is one of finest rock bands of All time...
I used to listen Wallfowers albums throughout my deployments to the Middle East from 2003 - 2007. Hundreds of times. Loved them.
The most underrated band ever.

Another beauty from the Wallflowers.

Thomas Hofheinz I read is at the same exact moment he sang it... cool stuff - great song!!

Nobody like Jakob, the most unapreciate artist of all times.
I know! But his lyrics are just... incredible!

I still have the cd! Great times! 2000 great Year!
20 yrs ago, this album was too dark for me. now i really get it because i am middle-aged and cranky.
This and Some Flowers Bloom Dead are still my favorites of theirs...
Their third album, Breach, that this song is off of, is amazing. Super underrated.
Yes it was
Napster killed its’ success as a record. Leaked early and was shared/listened to 25 million times. 25 million. Could have been a huge record
I used to listen to the whole album. Great one!
This is a great band. Still one of my favorites
2019..still a great song
And great band
2021
Probably my favorite song right now, so good.
Big fan of the song but had no idea they released a video for this song. Good stuff.
mr. jacob you sure are easy on my eyes.great song, too
Had never seen the video for this, but it's definitely a classic :) Grew up with The Wallflowers, will always pass them on to new friends :D
So glad that they're back! Great song!
Another great song from their 2000 classic release, Breach. Got it in the Malibu.
It's the first of their great albums.

Personally this and Beautiful Side of Somewhere are my favorite songs by them. Better than One Headlight (not that it's a bad song).

good
