My mum was brought up on Trowbridge Street. Most of my family came from there. Used to love visiting when I was a kid.

My dad lived on the top floor with his four sisters, and mum. He said , if the wind was in the right direction he could hear them ‘ jangling ‘ from the Pier Head !

Lost community, the loss of decency and pride even with what little you had. When everyone looked after even the pavement in front of their homes. When people had respect for God even if they had no belief. A lost time and lost soul of Liverpool.

Actually this is Newton Way and the tenements are St Andrews St. Trowbridge St was the next block and you can just see part of it in the distance in the shot with the statue of Our Lady. Similarly you can only see the Bullring in the distance in one shot, together with the Gill St tenement block.

I came up in the late 80's to stay at Barney Mee's parents house a few times. Alot of the houses where boarded up then but Flo didn't ever want to leave.
