During summer of 1966 I was walking thru Old Town in Chicago and saw a sandwich board sign on the sidewalk saying: Exploding Plastic Inevitable Show. Went on in. Nothing's ever been he same.
It's funny seeing Gerard with that whip. He was such a calm, friendly guy when I knew him for a few years in the late '70s and early '80s! Playful, but bookish! Greetings from France.
I didn't get Television for some reason when I was younger, and I don't understand how or why, they're great. I loved Bowie since I was a teen though. I had the Changes record and played the heck out of it (this was in the late 90s, so I felt like I got cool points for having records). Velvets didn't come till college.
Heres the name of the Andy Warhol factory member that is not credited. SUPERDUDE Superdude is still alive and playing music at nearly 70. He is the person standing right behind Andy in the photo on sonicbids. It would be nice for him to get some recognition. TH-cam channel: jp1234productions sonicbids url: Superdude
oops. I was thinking more of Billy Name - they always get crossed in my mind. Though Gerard is kind of rugged looking now, so that appeals to me more than the thinner Gerard.
How time rearranges the molecules of the brain: when I was in college, I'd hear VU and think, Hmm. So what. My idea of a good rock band was something like XTC. Now the greatness of VU is obvious to me. Same with Bowie: late teens, early 20's, I didn't like him. Now I think he's great.

@rainyydayy The song is called "Venus in Furs" by The Velvet Underground (from the album "The Velvet Underground & Nico")
I red the book, where the song is based on, great piece of world literature, the song is great too, by the way

Exactly...Frightening,lurid and most of all..True in a strange way.
That exploded into some fucking noise jam...
in the beginning of part 1 they say John Cale is the only singer, Lou sings the most in VU
Lou had hepatitis and wasn't at these shows (and Nico was on Ibiza), they brought Angus MacLise back in on drums and Mo played bass and guitar.
@freedomsfart and exept for John Cale who's the vocal of this venus in furs live tape. because lou was at the hospital at the time.
um. that's Lou reed vocals
that was a fuckin great documentary
I like Gerard more nowadays than then. It's a Bear thing. ;)

Was this film directed by the same guy who did "Tonight Let's All Make Love in London?" Both films share similar styles.

I know it, it's a preference of mine...Spudmac2000 even wrote it, not an Idiot.
