It was great meeting you at Lou Malnati's after the Kofuzi ShakeOut! And yes that's not my favourite pizza in Chicago! Giordano's is my fav and Pizanos is my 2nd fav. Have tons of fun in New York!! Hope the weather is good this year 👍
Another nice race recap. Congrats, Meg! You will hit the sub237 soon! For Kiptum, his coached said few days ago that Kiptum did 155-173 miles with 4 workout days per week which blows my mind. BTW, this year is a mast year for acorns in USA.
Congrats Meaghan! Very impressive time! Enjoy your channel not just for shoe reviews and other nonsense 😊. Also enjoy other information, such as Kodiak oatmeal with more protein. Just placed an order, thanks!
Congrats Meg on a job well done. I think a little bit of time away will only convince you of the amazing race you put in. Robbie, I am from Northeast Pa and have family in Hershey. Would like the opportunity to run with you some time.
Listened to the podcast all throughout my training. Currently tapering for the Long Beach Marathon this weekend you all got me through the long runs. Congrats Meg! P.S. Gotta go to Pequods in Chicago for deep dish it was also featured in The Bear
I will say 2:37 is a very aggressive goal if 1:19 was a half PR Anyways we know Kofuzi was feeling no pain because he started pregaming during the race and was already loaded up on Malort's 😂
Tell Robbie an easy KM to Miles equation to his 8K dilemma is (8 X 6) / 10. So just multiply the kilometer number by 6 then divide we by 10. Rough estimate.
LOL Running doesn't really result in much weight loss. Just FYI, the weight loss medications do have some side effects but the effects of being overweight (high BP, risk of stroke, heart disease, diabetes, knee issues, etc.) far outweigh any downside. They also allow people that physically can't run/walk/be active to be able to loose enough weight that can allow physical activity. Meg killed it!!!!! WOW!!
Regarding being intimidated by kitted out dudes -- I remember I was doing a trail half about a year ago. Right before the start I was standing next to a guy fully kitted out in Compressport stuff, all black (vest, arm warmers, compression socks, carbon shoes, the whole shebang), whereas I had just t-shirt and some shorts on, old pair of kicks. I felt intimidated for sure, like I perhaps don't really belong here. Ended up whooping his ass by a lot :D Now whenever I see fully kitted out dudes, I instead think to myself "man, I'll probably kick your ass" :D
Kipchoge is not quite there yet (for instance, he was not born when that photo Thomas is wearing was taken) , but 'hay'', when he does take a chill , perhaps you can invite him to join the faster bastards.
I'm skeptical off the charts. Drugs have always been in the sport, but when a woman (I forget her name) ran 29:17 in the 10,000 at Rio in 2016, I just shook my head. And the 2:11 at Berlin... no. Just no. At this point, I'm watching the elites run like I'd watch professional wrestling... it's cool to watch, but it's just a show. And that's sad.
Y'all come across as insanely pretentious. How about not running ever race and leave bibs for others who would find it a memorable and happy experience?
Believe, please add time stamps on each topic please! That Sisson story cracked me up tho 😂
What that story about?
2:45 is an exceptional time. I hope you felt incredibly proud when crossing the line. Great training paid off!

Great job guys looking forward to seeing you in a few weeks and Speedgoat loved meeting you (again) ❤
"Chicago pizza is just cassarole." - quote I heard from a correct person
I know Anthony Bourdain said something like that on his show years ago, but I doubt he was the first to make that connection.
I'm from Chicago and I agree with this statement.
And can we just all appreciate the pupper in the corner being a very good boy. 🦮
Agree with Thomas on the pizzas. Congrats to Meaghan!! It was great seeing you all at the shakeout!

Just saying, the brown sugar volcano and milk moat for the oatmeal is epic. That needs to be discussed on Fuel for the Sole.
I’m a new sub. I just found you guys a few weeks ago. I love what you guys do. The website and the podcasts are great! Watching from NJ. ❤
go jersey

Outstanding job! Meaghan!
Wow amazing
Congratulations Meg! That's an amazing time!
I’m taking that advice on getting sleep the week leading up to the race.
Robbe-"like Aladin over there." ha ha. Robbe has the David Spade sarcasm vibe going on.
I'm glad someone picked that up :) - R

Good Luck!
Don’t know if Thomas was kidding but I don’t think the Navy has used Navy Pier since WW1 😁
There is Great Lakes Naval Station north of the city, but yeah, Navy Pier is a tourist attraction.
Who says this podcast isn't about running?? I just got some great book recommendations. ;)

I didn't know that Kodiak makes other stuff. We buy their Kodiak Cakes mixes but it's nice to have oatmeal too. I will look for it at Costco.
It’s just ok. It’s just cheaper with regular oatmeal with pb protein powder and some honey
Thomas…my hero…taking pictures with Emily’s doppelgänger is something I would do
Cheers from a fellow American Development Program runner

Haven’t listened yet, but based on the comments, I have so much input to provide re anything pizza.
Jon Stewart was very clear some years back about Chicago pizza...

I got some funny looks when I shouted out FALKOR louder than I expected on a run. No luck dragon experts around here either...
I see myself in the B roll at 17:23 🥲

I'm on team Robbe, peak 2 weeks before a race.
Discussion re: Great Lakes. You guys sound stoned!!!!!
Revenge of the acorn... this is for my brother...
Need to see the pic with ‘Emily Sisson’
This on Spotify?
Yes, the podcast and video are on Spotify as well!
Completely agree the pizza is overrated. I had Lou Malnatis and after a two hour wait was disappointed.
Nobody living in Chicago eats deep dish. Its a tourist thing.
I take Mounjaro (similar to Ozembic) for Type 2 diabetes. What Robbe is saying about eating muscle mass is absolutely not the case.
Hey Thomas, Is that a picture of cyrinda foxe and david bowie on your shirt?? Cause if so, boy is that random...
It is indeed!
Whaaaat!? No time stamps?
Chicago pizza is not pizza 🍕

I am with Thomas Chicago pizza is the absolute worst pizza and we have pineapple on our pizzas in Australia.
I like pineapple. I don't like Chicago pizza
My last name starts with Z…
what if the underwear got you a PR what then
Giordano’s is better pizza than Lou Malnati’s
Y'all come across as insanely pretentious. How about not running ever race and leave bibs for others who would find it a memorable and happy experience?
You should divide this long ass video into subjects, who has almost 2 hours to watch the whole thing?
Apparently 3,000 people on a Friday... if you'd like to volunteer your time we're accepting applications
I do.
