Hi Joe Don't see many of these in the UK, went to Lake Garda for a holiday a few years back and they were everywhere, they looked like quite an up market little car somewhat more upmarket interior than the one you were driving ( no disrespect ) I think your one's engine had seen better days to put it mildly. Something I'll never forget at Garda was seeing a man he must have been well over 1.8 mts tall unfold himself out of one of these and he looked like a 70s porn star, something not easily forgotten. I have the same one, but with automatic. It's an elegant sporty vehicle, typical Lancia. Called the Italian Mercedes. Ypsilons were quite popular here (Switzerland) for a while. Now they are rarer because the model is not imported at the moment. But they say it will come back.
to be honest no ..... i don't think anyone would buy a lancia especially with competition like the 208 and clio. Also if Fiat plans to make a punto, the only way it would sell is if its cheaper than the competition.
Lancia's Luca Napolitano says they want to make a new, slightly bigger Ypsilon with mild hybrid and electric versions, and return to selling in other European countries, in 2024. He says they're also working on an electric larger car (but not as long as a ds 9) for 2026 and an electric medium car for 2028.
True. In Poland we very rarely see Lancia. It's so rare to see this car that once when I saw it I had to take a picture because it's not something you see every day 😅
@@MultiKamil97 It seems like Lancia is getting "bullied" by Fiat up to a point it doesn't stand a chance to shine further after the end of 1990s. Even Alfa Romeo has better luck than Lancia these days.
@@izzatfauzimustafa6535 Definitely. Alfa Romeo is also kinda pushed away to the background nowadays but it's much often seen on the streets than Lancia. Though there's no big variety of its models because I only see Brera and one that name I've forgotten.
@@MultiKamil97 Alfa has its strength in the form of performance-related technology & car styling. It doesn't pay much attention on creating normal or boring passenger vehicles for decades.

HI. Does the radio of that Y turn on automatically when you start the engine, or do you have to turn it on manually using the button? Because I have the same radio and mine doesn't turn on automatically when I start the car, but I have to turn it on every time from the volume knob.
My 2003 civic sedan does 11.7s for 0-100, with 90hp 😝 Though…this generation of Ypsilon emphasised on styling. Wasn’t meant for flooring the gas pedal.
This man never pushes other cars to the redline, he likes moderate acceleration in this case to 5000 rpm instead almost 7000. So the numbers are 20-30 % higher always. It's different aproach for sure, but it's ok.
Hmm.. that 0-100 strongly hints that the 95 hrsprr engine is cutting some slack :D. Nevertheless, at least it sounds lively (like an engine that is revving strong). To the interior; shelves and curves ... Somehow the Multipla did it better .. this has more style over handiness. Even in Hungary Ypsilon are rare. Nice one, Joe ! :)
Out of curiosity I happened to see a second series Lancia Ypsilon like this one in the video all pink and the same inside with leather seats and at the bottom of the doors it had writing in French, was it a limited edition?

I think this is the 1.4 8v 77hp with 5 speed not the Starjet 1.4 16v 95hp, the 95hp unit has the 6 speed gear.
I had a 2006 Lancia Ypsilon as my first car and I kinda miss it to be honest it was fun to drive after all

Lancia is more like a "boutique chic" economy car these days and their sales are limited to Italy and some Eastern Euro countries.
