Really enjoyed the video LAFTA 😀. Love the Irish coins. My favourites of the bunch are the 3d with the Hare and the Woodcock 50p . Must admit I do like to hear Snax snoring in the background, he’s become part of the channel now 🐶😀.
I so wish I had watched this video earlier today🤦🏻🤦🏻 I bought some IOM coins off a seller in a coin group on Facebook and he had loads of the Irish coins all dates, I said no to the Irish ones.... 😬 need to go back and look again. Very interesting as always Lafta 😀
I enjoyed this, as an OAP amateur coin collector in Ireland, so there a few small errors if I may be so bold? the Bonze decimal 1/2p , 1p, 2p, where designed by Miss Gabriel Hayes, (you didn't show the 1/2p) which was from an illumination in a manuscript in the Cathedral in Cologne, the 1p was from the book of Kells, and the 2p (wait for it) was from an illumination in the second Bible of Charles the Bald in the Bibliotheque Paris. The other coins were based on Percy Metcalf's pre decimal designs. The 1992 small 5p is not scarce 700K minted, I have a BUNC coin. Some coins were only issued in year sets so the 1886 50p is only available in a set, (about €450.00 for the set) I'm lucky as we joined the Euro, the pre decimal year run in total is about 220 coins and I'm about 20 away for a complete UNC set. When you go to a fayre, your head must be spinning with all the mintages in your head, Whilst to some that might seem an advantage I am afraid my head would explode! (and I do have a good head for figures) Your knowledge is second to none mate, absolutely fascinating. although I am not sure Snax agreezzzzzzzzzzz.. :)

@@LAFTA you'll not believe this lafta but I was looking for an old Irish punt coin myself and 50p Irish and British my wife had some Irish coins in a tissue in a drawer and I ask her to go check the for the 92 wee Irish 10p she came in a said no 10ps but have a hoke through the anyway so I did their was an old Irish punt coin and a British 50p new pence plus a decimal 1p token happy days in my book now 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Great selection of coins! The 3d coins were made of silver upto 1933 or 34 I think! Dont know what it is with the Irish coins but a lot of them seem to spot/corrode quicker! Enjoyed the video, thanks
I have a big copper pot with a mixture of coins like your video and also lots of English half crowns, in total I would say I have over a thousand coins I went through maybe 200 hundred but its too time consuming to go through. I can barely lift the pot with the weight of coins. I have subscribed to your channel i may do more research. Thanks enjoyed your video, are you on Facebook so I can send you a photos of the coins.

Presuming that is supposed to read Eire, had me confused for a solid 10 seconds! It's a fairly rare one with a mintage of just 600,000. I can't see any recent sold listings and the only one I can see for sale is £12. Somewhere between £5-£10 probably.
