I knew both Dr. Doug and his first wife Lisea. I am aware of one issue. I highly respect Jimmy Evans if he thought it was a sin or wrong he would have said something. He saw the major issue they had. She probably did have to sign a non-disclosure in the divorce. So don't judge until you know what happened.

Thanks for your spiritual decernment, because Doug's wife is completely left out of the picture and she is the intergual part of this story, we are only hearing how wonderful Joni's story is, and how God has brought her and Doug together, which according to her was confirmed in a dream, my problem is this the person did not see Doug in the dream, this is only spectuulation. The scriptures is very clear on the Bibical Christian's Bibical permission for remarrage after devorce and Doug does not fall into the bibical criteria. This marrage is an unbibical marrage and God is not in it, and the sad part of this union, is that Doug has been councelling married Couples for years.
Please Tim don't compromise the scriptures to to support Joni's departing from God's words. Amen.

Most people are unaware of the amount of spousal abuse happening inside the church. Financial and emotional abuse can’t be seen and countless women and children are literally being held hostage by their abusers because they have no way out. I am praying for like minded people to come alongside me to start a ministry to set them free. 💜🙏

I've been battling with this because I am divorced, been with other people since and recently gave my heart to the Lord and realized I was living in sin. I let the person I was with for 5 years ago because I felt like that was what God told me to do and I had a peace about it. But I've been wondering if my divorce means that I will never find someone because it would be a sin to be with someone else after being divorced. This morning I told God I was tired of being sad because I felt like I was going to never experience a true God sent love. But I gave it to God and said whatever He has for me I am willing to do but if that means I'm alone for the rest of my life then He has to become my husband for real. He has to be my safety He has to be my best friend, He has to be my comfort and my support and He needs to send me friends that will uplift me and hold me accountable. I willingly surrender my loneliness to Him.

God has healed me from so much mentally emotionally spiritually.. But I would like to experience love now that I am older and made whole. If it’s God’s will but if not I pray God fill me up every day with his goodness and glory. I pray Lord for both of us help us to know your will. God we trust you that you would never leave us or forsake us. I pray for Love, joy and peace in the name of Jesus. Amen

Personally I think Lisa should be left alone and I respect her for not going onto every possible platform (which is what Joni is doing) to defend herself.
She is a private individual, she did not choose to blast her personal life on international christian television.
I'm sure she is dealing with hurt, betrayal and humiliation. Hopefully she has true friends who will be there when she wants them around but will give her space when she wants it.
Doug and Joni brought this upon themselves for blasting their lavish wedding and reception on international christian television. They could have kept it private (they are in their 60's and on their second marriage) and there was no need for Doug to fill in the host seat. Joni has three adult children and their spouses who are capable and happy to sit next to her as the co-host.

I am so encoraged by these comments. People will call it judgmental. We are called to judge rightly. Living Holy and according to the scriptures does not make one religious. It makes them Christian and want to follow God in all their ways. We fall, but we are to get back up. Religious people want to be called holy for doing nasty things, and want the scripture to bend to their will, and not the will of the Father. I'm glad to see people are still willing to stand!

I too, am encouraged by most of the comments that I have had tears of joy stream down my face because Christians are not being deceived. Jesus is clear about divorce and remarriage. I have been divorced for over a decade. I absolutely, want to remarry; however, I cannot. My ex is still living. It's that simple. I am not exempt from Jesus on remarriage. Is there special exemption for Joni and Doug????? I met a man recently and he was interested romantically in me.
I told him I don't date/can't date. He started talking Old testament and what he felt
and that I could remarry. This man is also divorced with a living wife. My response. I don't live my life on how I feel.
I live my life Thus says the Lord. No one is going to pressure me to remarry. Again, the Word is clear on divorce and remarriage.

I'm so glad to listen in. This topic summarizes down to one thing: Is the Bible (God's word) supreme? Or is our word supreme? The Bible allows for divorce in the instance of sexual immorality (Matthew 5:32) or in the instance of abandonment by an unbelieving spouse (1 Cor 7:15).
    Thats it.
Separation (even indefinite separation) on the other hand is wide open and has no stipulations. A wife can biblically separate from her husband for practically any reason under one condition that she does not marry another man (1 Corinthians 7:10-17 ). The Lord leaves room for women to get away from unsafe men. Abuse, Addiction, and on and on. He is gracious.
Safety often isnt the ultimate goal for many divorced people though, the replacing of a spouse is... which is why these verses are altogether ignored. Because it stops people from feeling free to drop and replace spouses as they desire.
Thanks for posting the video. Viewers, please read and obey your Bible. The Lord honors obedience. He really does.

People please ALWAYS go by Scriptures!! Everything "ministers" & "church folk" say does NOT always align with Scripture. To many Christians are making excuses to bail out of marriage. And to soon not allowing Christ to work in the situation. Every scenario obviously is different but just to leave someone for minute little issues IS sin. You made a commitment & a covenant to God & that person.

Agree. Is this a needy cause!? No college student needs access to fine dining! If I was a donor (which I'm not) I would be very upset. Is this being a good steward of funds entrusted to them?
You have to ask yourself, why isn't Daystar a member of Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA). Why doesn't Daystar provide an Annual Financial Report on their website? There is no accountability. Daystar Partners and viewers donate their hard earned money and the Lamb family benefits.

The key word is remarrying while ur spouse is alive is a sin. This is what the Bible say, when it come to christian in the new testament. but the old testament Moses allow people to Divorce. Because of our unfaithfulness. On my side I can not blame a person for remarrying. Because I understand the power of the fresh. The body will keep on having feelings. Life is not easy. Not everyone can live a sexless life. If the spouse start to cheat, abuse etc. How can I change that person. ? If that person did not have a desire to change. ? If u are able to stay alone. That's great. But what about someone's who is not able to stay alone? Better to remarry & remain faithful to that second wife/husband.

Are you all paying attention?? This is a Christian woman who runs a HUGE ministry that promotes FAITH in GOD. They tell the whole viewing world to TUST GOD to change the impossible life circumstances people face. To GIVE IT TO GOD and fully trust in His faithfulness. She features countless AWESOME miraculous testimonies of all kids on her shows …and yes, many are about impossible marriages transformed by God and here you just heard her say “when bad behavior continues on and on destroying not only the spouse but the children, you don’t think God wants YOU to change that situation?” (Referring to Doug’s situation) So Doug Weiss’ “situation” was not something God was BIG enough
    or faithful enough to change??
Would God really tell a born again spirit filled believer “YOU change that destructive situation according to what makes sense to you.” Where is the trust and faith for that situation that they now both encourage the rest of the world to have in God with theirs? She’s suggesting that God preferred that Doug divorce his wife because she’s highly abusive and neglectful to hook him up with her?? Because they both INSIST God did all this. It’s ALL God’s doing. Nooooo THIS is what God says in HIS word …..
JEREMIAH 32:27 I am the Lord the God of ALL mankind. Is ANYTHING too hard for me?
God says in EZEKIEL 36:26 I will give you a NEW heart and put a New spirit in you; I WILL REMOVE FROM YOU your heart of stone AND GIVE YOU a heart of flesh.
No, Lisa Weiss was not too much or too difficult for God to handle. Doug just needed to TRUST and BELIEVE God and not quit on God’s way and in His timing but instead he chose to birth an Ishmael and call it God’s doing. It’s what usually happens when a more attractive prospect is in the horizon. They don’t even want the former but are fixated on the better prospect, if truth be told.
They both need to binge watch all the Joni Table Talk testimonies of horrible impossible marriages God transformed and made new.
God HATES divorce He makes it very clear in His word so don’t misrepresent His Character by suggesting that God wanted Doug to bail on his marriage of almost 40 years instead of trusting HIM with it.
Joni relied on the words of a trusted friend that said God would bring a man into her life. That may have been true, I don’t doubt it, but prophetic words like that, are not for the immediate future. God never rushes a broken grieving heart into a new relationship to cover the pain of loss. And especially not to rush into a marriage to a freshly divorced/damaged (according to Jimmy Evans) man that has no biblical justification to remarry immediately after a divorce while his covenant wife is still alive. Where is the scripture to back that up?

You have no clue what it is like to wait on God to heal your marriage, for God to end the verbal, emotional and mental abuse, which eventually turns into physical abuse. Then to watch the abuse extend to your children...😢.
DO not try to become an expert on the personality disorders that many Christians are married to. When God gave me the green light to leave-after 19 years of marriage- I left. That was 22 years ago and I am still in the process of God restoring my strength and joy and peace.
I'm not interested in random people throwing scriptures at me to tell me divorce and remarriage are the unpardonable sins. I've had to listen to this twisting of verses for over 25 years.
Stay out of this widow's (Joni) remarriage- let her move forward without applying your 'measurement' on how soon she remarried.
Use your time and energy to work on yourself!!!

Please be careful to investigate things Biblically. The Scripture grants divorce only on the basis of abandonment and adultery. Abuse and addiction are not biblical provisions for breaking covenants. That is not to say stay in bad environments. Separation is most definitely essential in such cases, especially abuse. Yet, no one is allowed to remarry unless the other person commits adultery or abandon the marriage. 1 Corinthians 7:12-17 and Matthew 19:9 is very important to remember.

She needs prayer. If she wasn’t in denial she would easily be able to tell that the man that entered her life was NOT brought by God. First, it contradicts scripture and God’s character. Second, that it caused painful division in her family which she absolutely won’t talk about. She witnessed Doug’s lies about his marriage/wife on her very own shows many times. She’s aware and apparently ok knowing that he lied to and misled his Heart to Heart Counseling clients and her DayStar viewers and still calls it God’s doing. God detests a lying tongue and pride because those are some of the attributes of the devil. PROVERBS 6. If Doug was being damaged by his wife to the point of being suicidal as Jimmy Evans insinuated, then what he needed was serious long term counseling not a new wife that was easier to love.

Miss Joni for you to be in the storm maybe would have looked better if you would have rode this storm out by yourself till you found a man that you didn’t take away from Lisa … both of y’all spoke so highly of her and god doesn’t take one husband from a relationship to give it to another because she deserves it !!!!! You being Jimmy evans friend you put him in a position to say this is good and you have allowed others to think bad of him and his opinions now . Also , you again said he tried to save the marriage but shortly before that they were on your show and he said he was in a great marriage …… you can make this look as great as you want but this man was a expensive counselor and he couldn’t fix his own marriage and he quicken that divorce when your husband died …… so all these small shows and books and comments you are trying to make your guilt feel better but it doesn’t make things right !!? I still think y’all shouldn’t have paid Lisa to shut up and we would know the 💯 percent truth because it takes two and he by far doesn’t seem perfect / again she never tried losing that kind of weight for Marcus leads you to believe there was more before announced wether it was infatuation or adultery or something sooner than stated

I would disagree. There is no need for individuals to hear from Lisa. She is going through a very difficult season of hurt, betrayal and humiliation. She needs to be left alone to process and heal from the divorce. Hopefully she has true friends who will be there for her when she wants them to be. She's a private person, always has been. She shouldn't be forced to make her life/marriage/divorce public on social media just because Joni and Doug have chosen to do so with their engagement/wedding/reception and on going photos of them together.
As for Joni and Doug, they chose to blast their lavish extravagant wedding and reception on international christian television and social media, did they really think everyone would just accept it like Jimmy Evans, her daughters, her besties and millions who idolize her just because she's Joni Lamb? She chose attention, charm and lust over God's Word and family. She can tell her story to make it sound like 'Love's Miracle', and that God brought them together but she's being deceitful to the Daystar Partners and viewers.
Doug placed the "courtesy call" (that's what they're calling it, seems it was an opportunity call); Joni was lonely and vulnerable, she fell for attention, charm and lust; Doug is now seated in the position Marcus was grooming Jonathan to fulfill; Doug was successful in getting what he wanted. At their wedding reception his friend gave a toast in which he commented, Doug is a go getter, he won't stop until he gets what he wants..... bingo!

And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife? They also aren't transparent

Praise Jesus! Someone who follows the Word of Jesus Christ. No one has to stay in an abusive marriage. It's called separation! Separate!
It's that simple. If a divorce occurs, remarriage is only permitted if the spouse dies.
Not being bound to the marriage is not permission to remarry. Joni was free to remarry. It is who she married is why she is living in adultery.
Doug Weiss has a living wife. He is not free to remarry. Joni knew this woman. Who does that?????? Doug, Joni, and Jimmy Evans are making a mochary of the Word of Jesus Christ. I want to remarry; yet, I know it's not possible because I am divorced and my ex husband is still living. Wow, so simple.

2:29 "I used to have that narrow view that we can't get a divorce unless it's adultery" Well, Matthew 19:9 and 1 Corinthians 7:12-17 is pretty narrow. Addiction and abuse are not grounds for divorce and remarriage. I am willing to be convinced if there is scriptural proof for it but I have not found any and nobody seems to be able to provide it when defending breaking covenants illegally. You can separate in the case of abuse and addiction as you wait on the Lord but you cannot go and form a covenant with another person because the nature of covenant is very exclusive and can only be broken when one or both parties form a sexual union with another person. May God have mercy on you, Ms. Joni, and please stop misleading people into adulterous arrangements. One can barely answer to the Lord for his/her own shortcomings let alone misleading countless people to live a life where they pretend like covenant means nothing.

I didn’t pick up on them “leading others into another covenant”. Where did you hear that piece? Additionally, the covenant is with God to care for one of His children through the marrying relationship. It isn’t actually a covenant with the person, I mean by default yes, but the covenant is a promise to God to care for them and I just felt that was important to identify. I agree there is confusion with the scriptural evidence on divorcing and I agree sometime separation is necessary for individuals to allow God to work in their hearts more fully. I also agree that during the distance period the covenant with God should still be honored by caring for the heart of the other person by not entering into another romantic relationship.
I just think you maybe heard a message that wasn’t actually said.
It is no secret that The Body doesn’t do the best job at discipleship and accountability in this area because we are a bunch of broken people…. I think that was the point of their discussion.
The Holy Spirit is at work in the body and there are marriages in which a spouse is damaging the other and may be refusing to respond to their convictions and in that case it may be necessary to exit that marriage ….. I’m still evaluating what wisdom I get from the scriptures on this, but at the same time- it is difficult to reconcile how God would desire one of His children to endure consistent and repetitive damage through relational abuse. Chances are in these situations there were red flags in the beginning and the spouse that is being abused ignored those red flags or perhaps were not following Jesus and so the marriage was outside God’s will in the first place. God can work it out for the good of those that love Him but if the spouse that needs healing refuses to respond to the Holy Spirit or is just outright disobedient… does the God we know say “I’m sorry my child but you made this promise to care for this person no matter what so you must continue to endure their mistreatment which dishonors me because of that promise. Trust me. I’ll make it as good as I can, but you must experience the consequences of your choice.” I am not convinced that is the God we serve- if that is the case then I wonder what the point of Jesus’ sacrifice was?
This is just a discussion. As I said- I’m still trying to sort through this with Him.

Please read Romans 1-18. Meditate on it because we fail to realize that everybody does not belong to God. We all have been made in his image but not all have God’s spirit which is LIVING. Some people are married to or sleeping with the enemy. Jesus will reveal to you if a person is not for you thats why having a relationship with him is so important. Jesus Christ says I am the way, the TRUTH, and the LIFE. Some marriages can be saved but some are dead. We serve a God of the living not the dead. The bible also states in Matthew 7:15-23 that you will know them by their fruits. In order to understand scripture you need the infilling of the Holy Spirit to interpret what speaks to you. That is why I say it doesn’t apply to all marriages and you can best believe if you are a child of God and you run to him he will reveal truth to you. He usually does but we are so focused on what we want that we miss the red flags. God does not want his children with people they are not equally yolked with. (2 Corinthians 6:14). We must ask ourselves did this relationship come God or the adversary. I pray that this helps. 🙏🏽❤️

[14] You cry out, “Why doesn’t the Lord accept my worship?” I’ll tell you why! Because the Lord witnessed the vows you and your wife made when you were young.
But you have been unfaithful to her, though she remained your faithful partner, the wife of your marriage vows. [15] Didn’t the Lord make you one with your wife? In body and spirit you are his. And what does he want? Godly children from your union. So guard your heart; remain loyal to the wife of your youth.
[16] “For I hate divorce!” says the Lord, the God of Israel. “To divorce your wife is to overwhelm her with cruelty,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. “So guard your heart; do not be unfaithful to your wife.”
[17] You have wearied the Lord with your words. “How have we wearied him?” you ask. You have wearied him by saying that all who do evil are good in the Lord’s sight, and he is pleased with them. You have wearied him by asking, “Where is the God of justice?”
      ‭‭Matthew 19:1-12 NASB1995‬‬

[3] Some Pharisees came to Jesus, testing Him and asking, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason at all?”
[4] And He answered and said, “Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, [5] and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? [6] So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”
[7] They *said to Him, “Why then did Moses command to give her a certificate of divorce and send her away?”
[8] He *said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart Moses permitted you to divorce your wives; but from the beginning it has not been this way. [9] And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”
[10] The disciples *said to Him, “If the relationship of the man with his wife is like this, it is better not to marry.”
[11] But He said to them, “Not all men can accept this statement, but only those to whom it has been given. [12] For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother’s womb; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are also eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven.

Let’s get real. Doug divorced his wife for a sugar mama. I’m sure they were attracted to each other while they were married. Doug and Lisa were Marriage Counselors?! Nothing seemed to be wrong with their marriage until Marcus died. How convenient. Did Joni want to know what went wrong in the marriage? Was she aware of problems? Marrying your friends husband of thirty years, that’s what you want to show a lost world? They should repent while there’s time.

    Divorce
Matthew 5:31-32 Furthermore it has been said, Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.’ 32 But I say to you that lwhoever divorces his wife for any reason except 3sexual immorality causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery.
So according to God’s Word, they’re both committing adultery but they prefer to ignore it bc it’s convenient for them.

I think more of us should be directing people struggling in marriage to follow the example of Phil and Kay Robertson of Duck Dynasty. Look at the untold thousands who are being blessed because Kay would not give up on her womanizing, alcoholic, abusive husband. She was humiliated. But she was determined. Don’t let this silly rhetoric take hold and lead more people into bailing on their marriages. The enemy is after the family and our young people. Don’t let him win. Pray for Joni and Doug. But don’t let the enemy worm his way into the fabric of the church to justify divorce, willy-nilly. We have to fight!!!

Joni just blessed my whole soul. I separated from my husband in June of 23, filed for divorce in September 23 and it was finalized in November of 23. Several of my friends have asked if I am open to a new relationship and I do believe that I am. I am going through the grieving process still now but I do see signs of healing and I'm happy about that. Joni's story confirms that God can and will move in areas that you thought that you were done. Thanks for sharing this Tim.

My thought is: why did Joni rush into marriage with a divorced man, so soon after losing her husband of many years? This seems to indicate that she was still in a very vulnerable state and could so easily be manipulated by someone into making a decision she may regret in the future. Getting divorced is not a sin. Committing adultery is.
God's word is very clear about what He says on divorce.
Matthew 5:31-32 says, 31 “It has been said, 'Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce. ' 32 But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Some of these comments are a trip...lol
One thing I know for sure, GOD WILL NEVER GO AGAINST ANYONE'S FREE WILL.
He can tell us to do something and we choose to disobey, we will reap those consequences...
Someone can be fighting for a marriage while the other person still wants to leave.
What do you do in that case? I'm sorry, but I am NOT fighting alone in a union. That is tiring and taxing on someone. If both persons don't want to fight for the marriage then, it's obviously a wrap.
This is why the Holy Spirit in your marriage is VERY important. Some things are literally a case by case basis. You can bring all the scripture however, it isn't always literal to everyone. You have to involve God and ask Him about everything...period.

Joni herself just confirmed that Doug Weiss lied in a BIG way. He clearly stated on their engagement announcement that he was close to the Lamb family that he knew them for 20+ years and that he loved Marcus and the kids. If he was a no one like she’s claiming here, why did he say the opposite and why was he front and center at her late husband’s funeral and the first to see him when the casket was opened like he said. Joni is saying he was no one, just a programmer. Just a guest coming in and out of shows and he says he was very close to the family for many years and loved them all. There’s no doubt one or both are lying and that is disappointing. And if Joni truly had faith in the power of God like she talks and sings about on her shows, before claiming another woman’s husband for herself, she should have told Doug to speak to all her prior guests she’s had over the years who had very serious marriage issues that TRUSTED God and saw His miracle power transform those impossible marriages and even make them new. God is no respecter of persons. He is a respecter of faith. So many miracles that she’s heard of on her shows over the years and all she can do in this interview concerning Doug’s bad marriage situation is to suggest that Doug had no choice but to take matters into his own hands and divorce his wife to make the “bad” in the marriage stop. God was robbed of an opportunity to be glorified in Doug and Lisa’s marriage. It’s pretty clear the enemy chose a very opportune time to seduce both Doug and Joni with subtle and later strong emotions. The very thing God tells us all to guard our hearts against above all else. (PROVERBS 4:23)
Where there are lies and coverups, be 100 % assured that God is not the author of the situation but the enemy is. Look at the fruit. Broken convent, divided family, and selfish ambition.

Divorce is a legal document that separates a partnership.
God never allowed divorce, but because of the hardness of our hearts, Moses allowed it.
I'm divorced, but l have chosen to stay as l am because l now have made Jesus my new Husband, so no one is fit to come between us.

[1] When Jesus had finished these words, He departed from Galilee and came into the region of Judea beyond the Jordan; [2] and large crowds followed Him, and He healed them there.
He who is able to accept this, let him accept it.”

I guess I’m still trying to learn what God defines as abuse and where is the delineation between “serving others, daily taking up our cross, bearing fruit in a life led by the spirit” and someone misusing relational boundaries because don’t we all? As a nurse I have formal education on what the psychological community defines as abuse but I’m asking God what His definition is.
    Joni mentioned addiction.
How much time do you give a spouse to respond to the Holy Spirit and at what point am I “not trusting God” vs setting boundaries?

There is no biblical definition of “abuse” as referred to in this discussion on divorce. If you are being physically abused than that is the legal definition definition of abuse and you should use the law to protect yourself. The Bible says the law is for the lawless.
Emotional and mental abuse is something we can escape by separation from the spouse but not remarrying.

Seems to me, Doug placed the "courtesy call' ( that's what they're calling it, but I think it was an opportunity call); Joni was vulnerable and fell for attention, charm and lust; Doug is now seated in the position Marcus was grooming Jonathan to fulfill; Doug succeeded in achieving what he wanted..... more power and time in front of the camera.
