This man is a legend!!! I really wish big country had made it “across the big pond” because I don’t know a single American who’s even heard of them. I wore a big country shirt out once and someone said to me “who listens to country music??”
@@bbybluandthenfitinitesadne7197 well , in mid '80s B.C. were quite glamorous also in the USA, just see The pier event in 1986, NYC. But probably today there is not so much memory left of them.
used to walk about streets of alloa with my ghetto blaster lol blairing out big country in the 80s and seen stuart at ingliston when i was 15 totally amazing band
Thanks for posting this, dude. People talk about great, seminal albums, well 'Buffalo Skinners' should have been up there with the classics. The lyrical vision of Stuart Adamson is so relevant to the world right now over 15 years later from writing that album. 'What Are We Working For' is a pivitol track from this masterpiece. Fierce, melodic and driven Celtic rock. When will we see your like again, Stuart Adamson. R.I.P
Here are the lyrics for those interested. They're just as apt today: There was a crooked man and he wore a crooked smile He built a crooked highway and it ran for miles and miles With money from the revenue and sponsorship from Ford But it barely holds together with the goodwill of the Lord In the penthouse of the baron, the little children sleep Daddy talks to smugglers while armed gorillas creep Poison for the great unwashed, business for the mob Another teenage murder, is just trouble on the job Now I see what I must see The poor do time the rich go free You keep the faith and they keep score Is this what you are working for A newsleak in the city, another scandal breaks Sex and drugs in city hall, someone on the make Legal bounty hunters aim their lawsuits well The victim talks to Playboy says I guess I'll go to hell
guess Isabelle 87 suggested this for me. The better part of pride is when someone knows what you want to listen to better than you and U realize this 😉
Please pardon my ignorance but what is traditional Scots song at the beginning of this set? They break into this during Fields of Fire on the Final Fling barrowlands concert also, very stirring stuff.
"All around the blooming Heather, Will you go Lassie go......" Oh my. A song long ago learned from Clancy Brothers & Tommy Makem. Miss all of them along with Stuart so much.
The Scottish tune at the start is THE WILD MOUNTAIN THYME. Guid intit.
A fave crowd pleaser.
Stuart Adamson...LEGEND R.I.P

Poetry! Class! Better live than on album. Now there ain’t many bands you could ever say that about!

OH holy SHITES!!! I swore that was The Clancy Brothers & Tommy Makem's 'Willl You Go Lassie Go' they were playing at the beginning!!!
Mustange Sally I’m pretty sure it was 🙂
Stuart used to play the intro when with The Skids
This is fucking music 🎼🎶👌 God bless big country
Stue is my all time idole.
RIp.
Love This!
is not my kind but they are amazing and sound so brutal, some songs are soo good, the drummer is a monster, true virtuoso
Stuart nailed it. I'm probably getting laid off in a couple of weeks, and the boss referred to my group as "a savings".

Poison for the great unwashed, business for the mob
Another teenage murder, is just trouble on the job
Now I see what I must see
The poor do time the rich go free
You keep the faith and they keep score
Is this what you are working for
A newsleak in the city, another scandal breaks
Sex and drugs in city hall, someone on the make
Legal bounty hunters aim their lawsuits well
The victim talks to Playboy says I guess I'll go to hell
they should most def put this on the new album
Thanks once again for this treasure. I have this DVD, I just haven't figured out how to upload anything on TH-cam yet lol.
What a fucking tune.
Un beau alme❤
The best👍😊

My favorite from Buffalo Skinners, and sadly relevant today.
True

Me 1993 - Big Country - Alive!

Stuart seemed to have a thing for Wild Mountain Thyme, great track tho
Please pardon my ignorance but what is traditional Scots song at the beginning of this set? They break into this during Fields of Fire on the Final Fling barrowlands concert also, very stirring stuff.
Even Bono can't play guitar as good as Stu......
paul gould bono's not U2's recognised guitarist though... the Edge is.
Jack Dempsey More talented than Bonio...
not gonna argue with that.
different styles but talent is similar....
The Edge was also a huge admirer of Stuart Adamson...
what an intro ,fecks sake
What a Fantastic songwriter musician, what a shame
Absolutely gorgeous and beautiful fucking Scottish awesome ness
People thought Stu was exspendible. He wasn't ....
unglaublich ...
thank you for clearing that up, make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up eh?
So we don't get covered in the shit that you brought into the house
Outstanding performance here.
"All around the blooming Heather, Will you go Lassie go......" Oh my. A song long ago learned from Clancy Brothers & Tommy Makem. Miss all of them along with Stuart so much.
