I spent an Area Day there today with the Third Order, Society of St. Francis (Sussex Area). It was lovely and Sister Gabriel was an inspiration. Deo Gratias!
I just finished watching the first three episodes of The Convent of 2006 but can't find the fourth and final episode. I really want to know what happened to the four women. Did you make a fourth episode?
My cousin Graça is a Nun in there I think. I remember her when I was a little girl and she came to Portugal to say goodbye to her family. I never forget her. I would like to see her.

I think the Poor Clares are active nuns rather than cloistered. They do lots of good work for people, including hospitality. But, I personally don't think cloistered nuns are selfish at all either. Devoting yourself to a life of prayer is a special calling. Prayer is powerful and very important. Nuns make enormous sacrifices, and in many ways are far less selfish than lots of other people. But it's only God who can judge anyone accurately. Blessings to you
Also, the beautiful music these nuns have created has helped many people around the world, including me. I'm actually not a Catholic! I'm Anglican, but love all my Christian brethren 😊

Sister Gabriel is truly amazing. She helped me through a really rough patch when my mum died. She's incredible.
