your style is super unique i love it so much, the way you implement warm and cool colors to represent different shadows and lights is really cool, its very bright and colorful, you should try drawing some spider verse characters i'm really interested in seeing how you would draw them :)

If you had asked me like 2 months ago, I would tell you that I am open to any medium BUT pastels.
    Well, I bought some…
And I’m obsessed they are so great and fun to work with. So thank you so much for getting me into them :)
And as a new pastel superfan I wanted to ask what paper you use for them. Rn I’m using like brown tainted mixed media paper but I think that’s not optimal.

now way! I literally just tried out some old pack of oil pastels. I haven't used pastels since I was a child and I wanted a 'dry' material to replicate paint. I loved seeing how you worked with it too. I found my pastels got really muddy with my pencil marking underneath.. I wonder whether it's because mine were from at least 10 years ago...meh

we are both mad scientist experimenting!! lol yeah they’re a bit tough to use sometimes, I’m hoping to explore them more in future videos!💖

blending colors out with your finger might help with the layering issue.

I loved seeing you create with oil pastels! I've been following your IG for a little, and I'm so happy that I found your channel! You are very fun to listen to and your art is wonderful. When I used oil pastels a year ago, my art teacher gave me an eraser pencil topper to use to blend the pastel. I think that allowed it to spread out without getting super chunky. I kinda like the chunkiness, but I know that it can get weird when it is all chunky. 💛

You are really good and I like your drawing style. I used to draw portraits in my 20s but switched my interests in music, because I also sing. I am just planning to go back to painting, but this time, using soft pastels. I will try to imitate your style as I will teach my 11-year-old son, for him to have poster making skills. Thanks!

You are so good!! Oil pastels are both the best and the worst medium in my opinion haha. They can look so spontaneous and exciting, but can so easily turn muddy like you said :( I love how you used them, I learnt a lot just from watching this thank you!!

thank you so much! I wouldn’t say I am being mean to myself, I just really value improving so I tend to critique my work pretty intensely. it’s a healthy part of my creative process!

hello! this is probably going to sound a lot like the previous comments um Hehe but I've been struggling with style for some time and I know I should practice and "trace" artist I admire but I've seen some of your ....works(?) Hehe and I was wondering if you would maybe want to give a tut on how you draw faces from different angles and poses and stuff like that? But only if you are up for it so um yeah!

When it comes to style, my advice is to observe the specific things you like about the different artists you admire. I’m pretty sure there are videos online about stylization and also videos where artists do style studies with the artists they admire. There are many things that go into an art style, like the shapes someone chooses, line weight, where lines curve and where lines get sharp, the colors that someone flocks toward, and so many more. I’d say to focus on one or few things at a time to make it manageable. (Not tryna come across like I’m assuming a lack of knowledge on your part or etc, just tryna be helpful. The question you asked was a good one and provides a great learning opportunity.)
Anyway I hope this helps give you a direction to go in and assists your quest! (:
