Y'all take a moment to throw shade at Barnes every week lol. I didn't understand the hate. He gave everything to the team last year, but didn't have the physical tools and ability in the passing game. He was our 3rd string QB and we won 8 games. I'll always appreciate him being willing to throw his body on the line in big moments. His final USC drive was impressive, even if he made mistakes that may have lead to us being behind. It's not his fault that we had to make him our starter, it's the fault of everyone else not being able to step up and be better than him, and the coaches not having more depth.

You guys do the best reviews. Strange stats that I've heard are .4 yards per play for OSU for the first 3 quarters. That's less than half a yard. An amazing defensive game for the Utes. And the 42 minutes of TOP says so much about the Ute's defense. Thanks

Thanks! Yeah .4 yards per play is crazy. Amazing defensive effort !

Y’all are going to get revenge for sure. Before the year started I thought this was going to be a huge game. Still is for Arizona but not the same way.

The game-time decision to play Isaac over Cam was based on the warm up before the game. Kyle Whittingham said during the press conference on Monday that Cam didn't quite have the ball speed on his throws that he needed to execute at the level he needed to. That means Cam wouldn't have been able to put the ball into those tight windows we know that he can and would have left his throws more vulnerable to interceptions. I don't want rising to play if he isn't the best version of himself. Playing a player that isn't ready is going to lead to inconsistency and frustration. If Cam played and we lost, we are having a completely different conversation about the decision to play rising before he was ready.

To all Utah fans. It’s in Utah best interest NOT to play Cam. Now is the time to win games with defense then save Cam for the end of the season. We have won bowl games and conference championships. It’s time to win it all. We need Cam in the Playoffs. We can win every game in the regular season without Cam. We can’t beat Ohio State, Georgia, Texas, without Cam. If I was Whit I would not play Cam even if he is 💯 until BYU game. Save him for the end of the season.

Interesting stat: Utah has played 4 games this year so far. In 3 of the 4 games the other team has either benched their quarterback during the game or right after the game finished.

Cam shows not to play because he couldn't really throw the ball with any velocity. Scott Mitchell mentioned on the Sean OC show that it looked like Cam was shotputting the ball and couldn't get any rotation or velocity. So a healthy Wilson was a better choice for the team.

Chill on the Morgan Scally credit. It’s Whitingham. Every defense Utah has had under Whit was amazing for 20 years. Well before scalley.

@@kyle8947 no way. The defense came from Kyle’s father - Fred. It’s so good that the Cougars have adopted it. It’s not just the framework that’s important but making the right calls and moving layers in the right position to make plays. Recognizing opponents tendencies that’s the brilliance of Scalley.

Barnes is a great kid. I'm happy for the contributions he made to our program. Looking at Jack Tuttles career (whose recruitment cost us Zach Wilson) and Peter Costelli (whose recruitment might have cost us Jaxon Dart), the Utes clearly made mistakes at the QB position. Barnes clearly outplayed the next 4 Star in Nate Johnson. I wish the Pig Farmer great success at Utah State.

The answer to the question of the week is C. Joe Williams. He had 332 yards rushing @ UCLA in 2016.

Going forward Wilson’s accuracy needs to improve. Fine now but 22 or 23 points isn’t going to cut it in games involving stiffer competition. A great defense can overcome offensive inefficiencies to a point.

That said, Wilson has really handled the pressure incredibly well. Amazing for someone that young and inexperienced.

When Wilson has had time I think his accuracy has been good. Teams are blitzing him a lot which has caused some off target throws. I think Utah could have scored a lot more, but we got very conservative on 3rd down when in FG range.

@@tannerhancock6253 possibly but he has thrown several picks and receivers have had to make rediculous catches. It’s not all because of pressure. Actually the o-line has improved greatly.

@@tannerhancock6253 when has Utah not became conservative when in field goal range. We are not an air it out team and that’s why great receivers don’t go to Utah. Receivers and QB’s will never have great stats here. However.l, we do consistently have very good running backs.
