Maybe you can help inspire an upcoming video... what do you find to be the hardest part of being a director?

I know you've touched on this subject here and there before, but perhaps delving deeper into it? (Have you?)
For me, the hardest part of being a director is the long, frustrating process of securing funding for your film, in my case, short films. You have to write the directing notes, detailed notes, trying to anticipate all the questions the script consultants, who hold the money, might have. If you miss something, you're likely to get rejected and have to start all over and make it stronger and apply again. This whole process can drag on for months, if not longer, which can be really draining. And I know, it’s all about experience and try to get better at it.
I'm fortunate to have had the opportunity to work on several funded short film projects as a director. Currently, I've secured almost half ($50.000) of the budget so far for my next short film, which is meant to be my final one before fully committing to funding a feature film.
I would like to see a video about directors offering tips and tricks for writing directing notes, applying for funding, short film and feature film. And from producers too, and maybe even, there could be a video featuring someone who receives applications for film funding?

Finding people to collaborate with, and who care for the project as much as i do.

I cannot think of other thing than AI. I am very anxious about the impact of artificial intelligence in the film industry. I would love to know what more experienced directors think.

Many great quotes and moments but the Bill Duke's one "falling into darkness backwards" is astonishing. This is the kind of condensation, the boiling down to the most simple idea that can produces an entire universe of human emotions.

Most of things in this video are really helpful. This compilation is wonderful.
Judith Weston's words are gold for me. I made a note for myself and came up with an idea how to deal with my itch to talk a lot and in great detail about things that I find important.
And a story that Zack Ward told, it blew my mind. This is something I will revisit in my mind multiple times.
"Falling into darkness backward" - these words are with me since I heard them for the first time. They helped me to overcome my insecurities.

Such important advices and tips to work with actors and what all one can do on the sets. Listen more than talk - was just a very good one. Also, a movie is made day by day - and it's a discovery of characters every day - so director need not be so single-minded and focused on a plan that he/she loses sight of a potentially better plan. So many really good ones....
