There are some creepy folks out there. I appreciate the share but it's my guess with this video you have created a challenge for the creepy cyber stalkers'. In Florida there is FL St 825 that protects the disabled and elderly from being abused mentally, physically or financially. Maybe your state has a similar law and if it happens again you can get law enforcement involved?

Thank you for coming back. My Dad was disabled. When i was a child, teen and young adult people made fun of my Dad and our family. My Dad was in a wheelchair. My Dad died when I was 25. I am 57 and now a disability support worker. I love my job and the people i get to support but still get comments.

I am 44 and I am still trying to make sense of how and why others would make fun of someone who is different. I am a nurse and I truly enjoy helping others. @Cathy your story is similar to mine. My mother was in a wheelchair and as a child we were often stared at AND people of all ages asking me as a kid how my mother gave birth to me!! I didn’t know!! Now as an adult and mom is gone (she died naturally when I was 33) I realize people could read and learn things. Being paralyzed doesn’t stop someone from getting pregnant and giving birth. And they could learn not to be invasive.
I think it’s important you are sharing the dark side of you tube. People need to know the Reality and it’s not all sunshine and roses and money. I hope this isn’t cliché but I love how positive and bright you stay in spite of how terrible people can be. I’m glad you’re still going for those of us that love you and need you.

When I first saw the house you bought, I was happy that Hannah had a pool. I was happy that you are living with your parents. I was happy that your parents were going to have your support as they get older and that Chloe has dog sitters available. There are hundreds of benefits to your living situation. Not the least of which is that you are both incredibly hard-working and deserve every fruit of your labor that is created from it. As a society, we are taught to feel sorry for the disabled. We are taught that their lives are hard every day and they can do little. This does not seem to be the case with Shane. Shane is a bright light in the darkness of the world. There will be some people who will never be able to escape the dark, no matter how hard they try. I respect your work and I fully understand that being a TH-camr is not easy. I am happy that you are still making videos. Your story is one of love but also compassion for others. I rarely shed tears but this channel chokes me up often. I also laugh at Shane's jokes because laughter is medicine. Oh, and I love a good love story.

Me too. I've only seen a few of their vids and found them to be very charming, funny and an adorable couple. It never occurred to me that anyone would hate them, and for what? Because he's disabled? I don't get it. And when you think there are almost 8 billion people on earth, so extrapolate from that there are literally millions of truly horrible people doing horrible things but this is what you're mad at? I have MS and am in a wheelchair, blessed with a very loyal and loving partner. It makes me soooooo mad when people pass judgement on a "normie" married to such a burden as me. I find it just shocking that some "people" feel that it's their duty to interfere in your private life and threaten your personal safety just because THEY have uncomfortable "feels". I just recently found your channel and I just want to say THANKYOU for showing the world LOVE is the foundations of everything....compassion and understanding is lacking and without those, there can be no love.
I genuinely come to this channel to learn about "what a healthy relationship looks like". I'm neurodivergent and I struggle with romantic relationships. You two set a really good example of that for me. I'm also learning about accessibility and things some disabled people struggle with, without Shane I would never ever know about any of that. Yeah, these people are literally abusing and harassing them. Sure, it's not the same as it being from someone in your real life, but it can be just as scary. So when people say not to let it get to them, they're basically saying, "Don't be traumatized by your abuse!" And to anyone who thinks "abuse" is too dramatic a word here, you should see some of the horrible threatening stuff people say about them. They do actually have to fear for their safety. But I guess "just don't fear for your safety!"

For the last eight years I've gone through a similar nightmare (not a TH-camr but am a target of a large group of sickos). We've moved twice now in eight years. I dedicate a portion of my time to continuously erasing our digital footprint, avoiding certain areas, withholding details about my life from most people and various other tactics that would probably make you shake your head. It's not fun being surveilled or targeted. I understand how creepy it is. Glad you have come through it and figured out a good way to mitigate it. Always enjoy your channel and glad you'll be sticking around a while.
This makes me sad, i feel so bad for you. In this era, it's next to impossible to not leave digital traces, so having to limit & constantly erase them as best you can must be debilitating at times. People pay no attention to me which is how i like it. Due to minor mental health issues, i find comfort in being anonymous. I would suffer a breakdown in your place. I sincerely hope your situation can be resolved sooner than later, you keep your strength in the meantime & it doesn't become all consuming so that you may have times of joy along the way. Stay safe.

This is really disappointing. Attorneys and real estate agents need to be aware of these privacy loopholes and take action to close them. Or we need privacy experts who can wipe the loopholes.
@@laurahousley480 Realtors use online postings with photos, but I imagine they're only thinking about it in terms of how they use it in business. Property appraisers look up comps. Zillow is problematic in other ways as well. Given that Shane, Hannah, and her parents had a specific request for privacy, I'd expect it to be a priority for the real estate agents to think through. Hopefully this inspires change for the better.
The problem is most people don’t know the lengths that people who have nothing else to do with their lives will go to to find out where their object of obsession lives. It’s scary and sad.

Exactly. This is a very common TH-camr problem. Has nothing to do with people hating them for there relationship or whatever they said. It's just TH-cam culture. People are crazy and creepy and most of the views are from hate watchers.

Everyone has a right to defend, and "get back" if you want. It is your right. Be you...do what you need to do. People can be really ... mean (I'll be nice and leave it at mean...lol)
People might say that this is the price you pay for going public. No - everyone deserves to have their privacy respected. I think many people who take offence at you or spend their time being mean are struggling themselves with something, which is quite sad really as there are so many better ways of coping than this. My name is Wesley, I got paralyzed from the chest down almost 5 years ago from shooting heroin. Just one month after becoming paralyzed, I overdosed on heroin twice within the same week. In 2018 alone, I attempted suicide five times, one of which left me dead, I overdosed on all of my painkillers and it stopped my heart. God saw fit to bring me back to life from the dead. Then on October 13, 2018… my body went septic and my heart stopped for over two hours due to a life-threatening infection called Pseudomonas Aeruginosa that I got from a hospital on March 8, 2018. God literally brought me back to life from the dead every single time. God never gave up on me. And God never left my side, even in death God was with me… He held me in his hands of might, love and strength! He continues to be with me and will never give up on me! No matter what, God will always be with you by your side holding you in his arms of love, Might and strength. I hope this inspires you in some sort of positive way… I try to share my story often with others in hopes that it may one day saved someone’s life! Ok, but....It is not ok that you think you are lucky enough that this would not happen to you. It should not matter where you live, how successful you are, or what type of content creator you are. You should have the right to feel safe doing your job. And , there should be an appropriate mechanism for invoking those rights when you need to exercise them. Do not take an "I'm all right Jack " attitude. It does not serve you, your wider community, or your You Tube family, rather, it degrades the values you project and, is divisive when what is needed is strength to be objective and preventive.
@@grannyontheplane Absolutely, what I meant is that my location isn’t easily accessible. I live on an Island in Canada 5 hours of the coast. My business address is public and it is well known that my house is right next to it. Yet I don’t have these things happen to me due to my geographical location. The laws need to catch up with the internet. There's one youtuber i watch that has trolls sending cops to her house with wild accusations. That's dangerous shit. These people who dox or threaten online need to face repercussions.

I’ve been watching for three years. I am just as annoyed with the comments that are flippant about your expressing how this negativity affects you! I wanted to believe that the hatred people had for disabled people was just internalised, something I had made up in my mind because I was insecure about my disability. But I know now from experience and from watching what you both have dealt with that I was probably right to be cautious, people are so cruel and live with such a twisted, warped understanding of disability. There is something so strange knowing that there are people out there that think you don't deserve love simply because of your body type. It doesn't make sense to me. I decided a while ago to stop reading comments about you on social media (especially on platforms and sites that you and hannah don't moderate) because it's so so hurtful to see the level of violent ableism in them. I'm really happy you're able to speak about this and that you decided to keep making videos. I really admire you both for being strong enough to see past the bullshit and keep doing what you're doing. The people who say “ignore it, don’t think about it” haven’t experienced anything like what you deal with. I was bullied as a teenager, for no reason at all, my friends just suddenly decided that they hated me. It obviously really affected me and changed who I was and became. I can’t imagine how this feels on such a huge scale as you two experience.

I’m dealing with threats, power struggles, and a down right harmful person. One. I can’t imagine having several. My children often say they want to be SM influencers or “stars” and I cringe every single time. I value my privacy so much more now than ever before. Mental health is so important. I wish we could hold people accountable for the energy and behaviors they choose. I hope you have peace and this can help change the hearts and minds of those who participate in this kind of rigid and toxic behaviors.

I would be nervous also, strangers showing up at my house. Alot of celebrities unfortunately their addresses are also often known, so they either live in gated communities, or have guards at the entrance. It is so hard to keep things private these days. I"m glad you decided to continue sharing your journey. I think what you do is important in it's own way. Maybe get motion detector lights and cameras. We have a camera on our door bell and side of the house. When anyone comes close it sends an alert to our cell phone, no matter where we are. We are also able to speak and see whoever is at or near our door or house. The one we use isn't expensive either. Stay safe. Stay blessed 💜.

If I were an influencer, I'd have a really hard time being nice to even the well meaning people showing up at my home. I don't care if I'd lose fans, we would have a harsh conversation about boundaries.

Shane thinks people are mean because he's in a wheelchair, not so. There are always going to be people who don't believe this is a romance. It started being a gimmick when thumbnails of Hannah half dressed or in bikini shots- the videos were in poor taste and disturbing. The thumbnails we're used to get viewers of Hannah in bikinis, trying in bikinis , and on and on... Seemed shady and why wouldn't Hannah and Shane's grown parents told them- this is not a good look. If you put yourself out there on you tube and fervently desire followers, why would you not expect some people to disagree with you? Makes no sense. I think you wanted the controversy. And why??? Thanks for sharing this devastating event. I’m glad you have a good support network and understand the shadow side to being an influencer. Yes, your channel is important and only you can know if the risks are worth the reward. I’m reminded of another TH-camr who took her life a year ago. She had publicly expressed how it was to live with depression. The mean guy who made videos about her had just done so right before she’d had enough. Be well and don’t let the bastards get you down.

To think there are people so rude as to invade and spy on people is unthinkable. This kind of crap makes me so mad. I'm a dad so this really really ticks me off at the dad level. I think people like the Kardashians and other attention seeking non-celebrity celebrities are mostly to blame for how other celebrities are treated. They want the attention because they make money off of having all eyes on them as long as possible. This makes the stringers and paparazzi numb to every celebrity they chase. They've gotten so used to getting what they want from people who shouldn't be in the limelight that they don't care about anyone. But it's been this way for a long time. We lost Diana because of it. There isn't enough legislation to stop it. I hate making government bigger but there are just certain things that shouldn't be allowed.

There are some creepy folks out there. I appreciate the share but it's my guess with this video you have created a challenge for the creepy cyber stalkers'. In Florida there is FL St 825 that protects the disabled and elderly from being abused mentally, physically or financially. Maybe your state has a similar law and if it happens again you can get law enforcement involved?

Thank you for coming back. My Dad was disabled. When i was a child, teen and young adult people made fun of my Dad and our family. My Dad was in a wheelchair. My Dad died when I was 25. I am 57 and now a disability support worker. I love my job and the people i get to support but still get comments.

I am 44 and I am still trying to make sense of how and why others would make fun of someone who is different. I am a nurse and I truly enjoy helping others. @Cathy your story is similar to mine. My mother was in a wheelchair and as a child we were often stared at AND people of all ages asking me as a kid how my mother gave birth to me!! I didn’t know!! Now as an adult and mom is gone (she died naturally when I was 33) I realize people could read and learn things. Being paralyzed doesn’t stop someone from getting pregnant and giving birth. And they could learn not to be invasive.

When I first saw the house you bought, I was happy that Hannah had a pool. I was happy that you are living with your parents. I was happy that your parents were going to have your support as they get older and that Chloe has dog sitters available. There are hundreds of benefits to your living situation. Not the least of which is that you are both incredibly hard-working and deserve every fruit of your labor that is created from it. As a society, we are taught to feel sorry for the disabled. We are taught that their lives are hard every day and they can do little. This does not seem to be the case with Shane. Shane is a bright light in the darkness of the world. There will be some people who will never be able to escape the dark, no matter how hard they try. I respect your work and I fully understand that being a TH-camr is not easy. I am happy that you are still making videos. Your story is one of love but also compassion for others. I rarely shed tears but this channel chokes me up often. I also laugh at Shane's jokes because laughter is medicine. Oh, and I love a good love story.

I have MS and am in a wheelchair, blessed with a very loyal and loving partner. It makes me soooooo mad when people pass judgement on a "normie" married to such a burden as me. I find it just shocking that some "people" feel that it's their duty to interfere in your private life and threaten your personal safety just because THEY have uncomfortable "feels". I just recently found your channel and I just want to say THANKYOU for showing the world LOVE is the foundations of everything....compassion and understanding is lacking and without those, there can be no love.
I genuinely come to this channel to learn about "what a healthy relationship looks like". I'm neurodivergent and I struggle with romantic relationships. For the last eight years I've gone through a similar nightmare (not a TH-camr but am a target of a large group of sickos). We've moved twice now in eight years. I dedicate a portion of my time to continuously erasing our digital footprint, avoiding certain areas, withholding details about my life from most people and various other tactics that would probably make you shake your head. It's not fun being surveilled or targeted. I understand how creepy it is. Glad you have come through it and figured out a good way to mitigate it. Always enjoy your channel and glad you'll be sticking around a while.
This makes me sad, i feel so bad for you. In this era, it's next to impossible to not leave digital traces, so having to limit & constantly erase them as best you can must be debilitating at times.
People pay no attention to me which is how i like it. Due to minor mental health issues, i find comfort in being anonymous. I would suffer a breakdown in your place.

This is really disappointing. Attorneys and real estate agents need to be aware of these privacy loopholes and take action to close them. Or we need privacy experts who can wipe the loopholes.

@@laurahousley480 Realtors use online postings with photos, but I imagine they're only thinking about it in terms of how they use it in business. Property appraisers look up comps. Zillow is problematic in other ways as well. Given that Shane, Hannah, and her parents had a specific request for privacy, I'd expect it to be a priority for the real estate agents to think through. Hopefully this inspires change for the better.
The problem is most people don’t know the lengths that people who have nothing else to do with their lives will go to to find out where their object of obsession lives. It’s scary and sad.

Almost 5 years ago in our back on June 7 of 2017 at 2:36 PM to be exact lol…
I feel inspired to share my story. My name is Wesley, I got paralyzed from the chest down almost 5 years ago from shooting heroin. Just one month after becoming paralyzed, I overdosed on heroin twice within the same week. In 2018 alone, I attempted suicide five times, one of which left me dead, I overdosed on all of my painkillers and it stopped my heart. God saw fit to bring me back to life from the dead. Then on October 13, 2018… my body went septic and my heart stopped for over two hours due to a life-threatening infection called Pseudomonas Aeruginosa that I got from a hospital on March 8, 2018. God literally brought me back to life from the dead every single time. God never gave up on me. And God never left my side, even in death God was with me… He held me in his hands of might, love and strength! He continues to be with me and will never give up on me! No matter what, God will always be with you by your side holding you in his arms of love, Might and strength.
I hope this inspires you in some sort of positive way… I try to share my story often with others in hopes that it may one day saved someone’s life! God is so amazing and he truly works in mysterious ways!

Ok, but....It is not ok that you think you are lucky enough that this would not happen to you. It should not matter where you live, how successful you are, or what type of content creator you are. You should have the right to feel safe doing your job. And , there should be an appropriate mechanism for invoking those rights when you need to exercise them. Do not take an "I'm all right Jack " attitude. It does not serve you, your wider community, or your You Tube family, rather, it degrades the values you project and, is divisive when what is needed is strength to be objective and preventive.
@@grannyontheplane Absolutely, what I meant is that my location isn’t easily accessible. I live on an Island in Canada 5 hours of the coast. My business address is public and it is well known that my house is right next to it. Yet I don’t have these things happen to me due to my geographical location. I don’t understand people who want to intrude in other people’s life. Hanna and Shane are generous enough to share their journey. The least viewers can do is to be respectful of their privacy.

However, I do believe that ppl the speak without thinking it threw or just never thought their words were hurtful, might grow from these videos. After watching my 1st episode, I commented on how much I loved you both & the channel. The first respondent to my comment was from a "mean person" stating that I should not believe the "HYPE". I’ve been watching for three years. I am just as annoyed with the comments that are flippant about your expressing how this negativity affects you! Keep on keeping on, being real and authentic and sharing the good and the “bad” is life. The struggle you experience is real and I thank you for your willingness to call out the pitfalls of social media, so that those of us that don’t experience this level of harassment and scrutiny, can appreciate how much you sacrifice of your life to educate others about relationships and living with a disability. I wanted to believe that the hatred people had for disabled people was just internalised, something I had made up in my mind because I was insecure about my disability. But I know now from experience and from watching what you both have dealt with that I was probably right to be cautious, people are so cruel and live with such a twisted, warped understanding of disability. There is something so strange knowing that there are people out there that think you don't deserve love simply because of your body type. It doesn't make sense to me. I decided a while ago to stop reading comments about you on social media (especially on platforms and sites that you and hannah don't moderate) because it's so so hurtful to see the level of violent ableism in them.
I'm really happy you're able to speak about this and that you decided to keep making videos. I really admire you both for being strong enough to see past the bullshit and keep doing what you're doing. For every hateful person there are hundreds of young disabled people like me that are so empowered by what you do.

The people who say “ignore it, don’t think about it” haven’t experienced anything like what you deal with. I was bullied as a teenager, for no reason at all, my friends just suddenly decided that they hated me. It obviously really affected me and changed who I was and became. I can’t imagine how this feels on such a huge scale as you two experience.

I’m dealing with threats, power struggles, and a down right harmful person. One. I can’t imagine having several. My children often say they want to be SM influencers or “stars” and I cringe every single time. I value my privacy so much more now than ever before. Mental health is so important. I wish we could hold people accountable for the energy and behaviors they choose. I hope you have peace and this can help change the hearts and minds of those who participate in this kind of rigid and toxic behaviors.

I would be nervous also, strangers showing up at my house. Alot of celebrities unfortunately their addresses are also often known, so they either live in gated communities, or have guards at the entrance. It is so hard to keep things private these days. I"m glad you decided to continue sharing your journey. I think what you do is important in it's own way. Maybe get motion detector lights and cameras. We have a camera on our door bell and side of the house. When anyone comes close it sends an alert to our cell phone, no matter where we are. We are also able to speak and see whoever is at or near our door or house. The one we use isn't expensive either. Stay safe. Stay blessed 💜.

It started being a gimmick when thumbnails of Hannah half dressed or in bikini shots- the videos were in poor taste and disturbing. The thumbnails we're used to get viewers of Hannah in bikinis, trying in bikinis , and on and on...
Seemed shady and why wouldn't Hannah and Shane's grown parents told them- this is not a good look. If you put yourself out there on you tube and fervently desire followers, why would you not expect some people to disagree with you? Makes no sense. I think you wanted the controversy. And why??? Yes, your channel is important and only you can know if the risks are worth the reward. I’m reminded of another TH-camr who took her life a year ago. She had publicly expressed how it was to live with depression. The mean guy who made videos about her had just done so right before she’d had enough. Be well and don’t let the bastards get you down.

When "real celebrities" leave their gated houses and some ignoramus snaps their picture and puts it on the internet with "so and so goes shopping wearing (whatever)" it freaks me out. To think there are people so rude as to invade and spy on people is unthinkable. This kind of crap makes me so mad. I'm a dad so this really really ticks me off at the dad level. Have some damn manners people.
I think people like the Kardashians and other attention seeking non-celebrity celebrities are mostly to blame for how other celebrities are treated. They want the attention because they make money off of having all eyes on them as long as possible. This makes the stringers and paparazzi numb to every celebrity they chase. They've gotten so used to getting what they want from people who shouldn't be in the limelight that they don't care about anyone. But it's been this way for a long time. We lost Diana because of it. There isn't enough legislation to stop it. I hate making government bigger but there are just certain things that shouldn't be allowed.
