This has been a Merrill Heatter Bob Quigley Production.

Gambit was later reworked as Catch 21, although I've heard that Heatter originally did a pilot entitled "Casino," also for GSN. It was also a reworking of Gambit.

Most of the show is gone forever. What little is left is owned by MGM, whom Buzzr does not do business with.

I am friends with Wink Martindale on Facebook and I have been a huge fan of the game shows he’s hosted since the early eighties. Tic Tac Dough is my number one favorite!!!!

I believe that this is the first time I have seen a man named Wink Martindale host a game show dealing with cards and couples.
Elaine Stewart was magnificent as dealer.
GAMBIT ran for 5 seasons on CBS and was a smash hit. Catch 21 wasn’t invented yet.

I read online a long time agio where Dick Clark (RIP) was considered to host Gambit instead of Wink Martindale. Interesting to think about if The $10,000 Pyramid was originally hosted by someone else and not Dick.

@@armorybrunotjr.3204 As stated above. But Garson composed all of the music for the show, Opening and Closing theme, and the incidental music you heard when a couple won a round or when Kenny Williams talked about "parting gifts" or how to get tickets.

Sorry, I can't help with that. I've never been able to find any of Mort's other game show music, and I grabbed this mp3 file from a game show website years ago (that site is no longer around).

No board game version of Gambit was ever made. Shame, I would love to have gotten one of them had there been a Gambit home game.

The graphic shown in fact is obviously fake. Prior to 1978, Milton Bradley used a light gray stripe along the left edge of its game boxes, with the MB logo in a white box.

@@jcd1970 That board game cover was fan-made for a guy who did online game shows, Gambit being one of them. I don't think Wink had this on his Facebook page.

@@toddwacha5108 You know; you can create your own Gambit home game. Just get a deck of 52 playing cards, a deck of trivia cards (Trivial Pursuit), and a piece of cardboard that says "Freeze"; then, just grab a couple of friends and play on. For the Gambit Galaxy (or whatever they called their Bonus Game), just get slips of paper numbered 1 through 21, then 21 slips of paper of various kinds of cash and prizes, slip them underneath the numbered paper and Voila! You have your bonus game. OR, you can do like what they did on Las Vegas Gambit and use the High Rollers game. Get a pair of dice and paper slips numbered 1 through 9 and roll until you can flip over all the numbers or stop if you can't. Don't forget cardboard pieces that say "Insurance" that you earn when you roll a double and can later use if you can't eliminate more numbers. I know this sounds longwinded but it's really simple.
