C20LET engine build - Cylinder head install & Cambelt timing

In the latest installment of my C20LET engine rebuild, it's time to attempt the cylinder head rebuild. But like lots of things, it's not plain sailing and sometimes we have to pivot! So the rebuild becomes a replacement. Watch as I troubleshoot the next part of the rebuild.

Nice video, great job. I was wondering how you wanted to clean the hydrolic lifters. I want to clean some for my c30se opel engine. They are expensive and not applicable for dismateling. Hope you can help cause you seem like a smart guy who knows what he is talking about. Cheers and keep up the good work.

Thank you 😊. So I found if you soak them in petrol, then press them out with a g clamp you will see the grime come out of the oil feed hole. They should be fairly springy once done. You can also use compressed carb cleaner. This method has always worked for me.

3 x 90 might crack the head! best to use 3 x 60 instead!

Did you just use a battery gun on that crank bolt no breaker bar/torque setting? 😅

It was torqued.

How did you come up with the pre-adjustment on the cam gear dude?

Not sure what you mean, but 7 degrees is a tried and tested amount. Which equates to half a tooth. So it's just been adjusted by half a tooth.

Something like that, just aim for half way between.

Is your C20let the earlier or later model? Is there a preferred one to go for ?

Hi, they don't vary that much unlike the 20XE engines. They all have the later cranks and timing set up standard, forge pistons etc.
