    I would say that this is an extraordinary interview. Unfortunately there is nothing extraordinary about it. Unfortunately what Michelle Alexander is talking about is quite ordinary in this country today. ¶ The image of her talking to her child about what he is faced with shames and saddens me. It brings tears to my eyes to realize that this is my country today. And it makes me mad as Hell! ¶ We all need to realize that we are NOT Latino-Americans nor Irish-Americans nor African-Americans nor Scottish-Americans nor anything else -Americans. We are simply Americans! This is what America is all about. We are a melting pot. This is what makes us strong. ¶ I can not stand by quietly while this goes on in America. We must all stand up and speak out against ethnic discrimination. The soul of America is at risk! ¶ Thank you, Michelle Alexander. You embody my image of a courageous American.

      I sympathize with some of ur outrage and sadness. Although I'm british it just baffles me calling black Americans African Americans. African Americans are born and raised in America and should just called Americans. Blacks in the uk is not called african-british that would be an outraged if they did that.

      gunnyo50 How Blacks in America name themselves is the concern of Black Americans, and not an issue that others need be greatly concerned with. The pattern of racism and police brutality against Black Americans is the issue of importance, and that ought to be the concern of all.

    This beautiful woman, Mrs. Alexander, has pulled the covers off the current racist problem with this country. Her book, "The New Jim Crow," is an eye opener for America.

    Michelle said the injustices "will continue" and, unfortunately, they have.

    so like the U.N Human Right council which has human violators on it, a racist AG proclaiming who is guilty of racial crimes means as much.

    How's about stop committing crime?

    • @johnhorse1835
      @johnhorse1835 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      And this ladies and gentlemen is a case of mental incompetency. Lakevillema is to stuck in its racist ways to understand that not all people killed by police actually commit a crime. How bout we address the racist criminal justice system and the racist enforcement of said laws?

    • @LAKEVILLEMA
      @LAKEVILLEMA 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnhorse1835 It's racist to ask people to do better? I do not believe crime has anything to do with race; it's a cultural issue. If crime had anything to do with race, we wouldn't be able to point to Nigerian Americans that make more money than whites, commit less crime than whites, have more nuclear families than whites, and are more educated than whites.

    • @johnhorse1835
      @johnhorse1835 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LAKEVILLEMA The evidence for racial disparities in the criminal justice system is well documented. The disproportionate racial impact of certain laws and policies, as well as biased decision making by justice system actors, leads to higher rates of arrest and incarceration in low-income communities of color. The reason you dont see the Nigerian Americans in those samples is they are of the upper middle class of nigeria and 6 out of 10 have bachelors degrees that they recieved for free!

    I think that the whole situation could have been averted by Michael Brown and his buddy by just moving off the street. I believe that Mr. Brown should have been arrested and prosecuted for the robbery of the store, I also believe that one possible solution to the Ferguson situation is to hire more black police officers. If the crime rates go down and the arrest rates go down, Then it would mean to me that the African American people respect the black officers and are willing to respect the laws which all people should, the only exception would be if The laws interfered with our constitutional rights as American citizens. If the crime rates go up or stay the same and the arrest go down there is clearly a problem with that system too.
    I'am an older white women with a bi-racial grandson as is most of my younger nieces and nephews and I love my family dearly They (my family) are taught to respect people in general, The mother of my grandson is Black and she advocates for black people but at the same time, she teaches her son . my grandson that if someone is wrong they are wrong and when someone is right they are right and too take people on an individual basis and not for the color of their skin. I pray that there are more family's out there that are teaching these same values to their kids because its the only hope we have of not being either White American or Aftrican American's but just being Americans .

    We the Israel of God are a sacrifice for the survival of the Gentile .The sins of the Gentiles are rolled forward until the times of the Gentiles come in,and than the judgement. What happened to the nation of Judah in judgment over the last 2000 years ,that judgement begins at the house of God ,will also come upon the house of Greco- Rome ,Edom ,and Ishmail .None of the wicked will escape.All will stand before Yahawah in judgment
