So complicated! You have to be a kind of mini programmer just to draw tables with a few chairs. Revit should reprogram the whole parametric family creation techniques easier and more user-friendly. Spending hours and hours just brainstorming how to do a simple component is insane for most drafters, technologists, and architects.
Great example of if/then statements in a family. I noticed that you did not change the width of the table. I'm guessing if you did, you would have noticed the same problem I am having with my table family. When the width changes, the chairs do not stay locked to the reference plane that is supposed to correctly move the chairs. I set up and locked the chairs exactly as you show, but changing the width only moves the chairs on one side of the table. Something about an array group being over-constrained. Any thoughts on how to resolve this?
hi Balkan, thx a lot for the tutorials, it works perfectly except when I changes the width of the table, it looks like the chairs on 1 side remin the same distance, so the table crosses the chairs.......
after making array the chair offset parameter causes error if modified. am i the only one? no, i'm not. even Balkan Architect's causes an error when he accidentally changes the chair offset at 6:41. he thought he was changing table length, instead changed the offset value, and got the same error all of us will get if we try to change the chair offset. how to resolve this error?
Broo...I did it well😊❤...But the conditions for arrays, side chairs and center chairs are a bit complicated and confusing...Nevertheless i did it 😊...Your are great...Hats off...I am over the moon😎
Honestly just spent the past 3 hours watching this over and over again and doing this over and over again. I cannot get 4 chairs to show for the life of me. I don't understand the array forumla: take the length (i.e. 3') and if it's greater than 3', then divide that length by 2, if it's not greater than 3', you default to 2 chairs? Is that what I understand the formula is?
Hey, my friend, you said the family will be available in the description, there is nothing... or I just dont see it? Thx in advance for your answer... Tomas from Slovakia
Thankyou sir you don a wonderful jon on Revit i tried that but at the end visibility parameters are not working correct it shows disappearance ticking but showing the object in drawing area.
This is awesome. Usage of formulas in design is truly awesome.
Dude I'm going over all of your parametric tutorials. Thank you BA
Thank you very much, very clear & very useful, first time I know about the formulas inside the parameters.
This tutorial is simply AMAZING!!!!! Congratulations for making such a didactic video! Thank you so much!!!

Thank you for being a blessing
great tutorial, this will prove very helpful as I continue to learn learn family creation for various projects
Thank you from Italy! very helpful :)
Thanks Sir, This tutorial helps me very much.
Great tutorial! Thank you.
you are genius the revit team must put your face as revit logo
Awesome Thank you from Trinidad + Tobago !
Big thanks man! from the Philippines!
thank you for this video! I used it today in my project!
Thanks from Málaga, Spain
That was amazing!
oww hehe i see, thank you Balkan Architect ;)
Thank you
Thanks you're The best
Thank you from Brazil..
what will be the formula(syntax) used when the table length is 1200 (as the parameters given does not specify visibility when the length is 1200)
Great job!
Awesome tutorials
Thanks man ..from saudi Arabia

Having the same problem :(
Same here :/
Solved it using a different array for each line of chairs but Iguess its not the most appropiate way to do so
bravo

YOU ARE VERY GOOD
very nice, thank u for your sharing
awesome tutorial from Iran & Canada! I have a question what happens when we assign 1200mm to the length? I tried if statement with >= or
Great explanation! But how do we load families into the project at the last? It says No open projects to load family into!
thanku sir its really helpful..,,
nice job
Good job
One family and get series of table sets by setting formula for the chairs. Thank you!

If I change the width of the table, the chairs on one side don't maintain the same offset from table. What can I do to prevent it.
thank you for this tutorial, it is very helpful. But why do we divide it with 650 mm, where does this come from, please?
Broo...I did it well😊❤...But the conditions for arrays, side chairs and center chairs are a bit complicated and confusing...Nevertheless
i did it 😊...Your are great...Hats off...I am over the moon😎
Why did u choose 650 to divide
This looks like SolidWorks configurations, display states and equations, only more rudimentary.

Can you show some parametric door families with architraves and some complex designs for doors.
Thank you
nice tutorial! Will you share the family? :-)
great but fyi, its "height" not "hight"
Gracias

Thank you from Jamaica.
I would like for you to create a manhole drainage system with parametric materials
Great Tutorial. But my version cannot hide when I turned Visible off. The chair remains visible. Care to comment. Thank you!

wonderfull,thanks from Viet nam...
does anyone know why he chose 650?
may be center to center distance of chair
Awesome tutorial, but its soo confusing with all the references and parameters and other things.
Palestine the best Palestine the best Palestine the best
thanku sir its really helpful.
