Something worth mentioning is this video is from a WHILE ago, and we've had many major updates since. In our 2.0 update we completely remade the game from scratch to redesign and improve the code. What you're seeing here is from (what I believe to be) 1.5. We're currently on 2.2! More importantly Josh is incredible advertising, he has 5.7m subscribers, most of whom wouldn't know abut this game if it weren't for him doing Josh things with it. Do you know how much having 5m people watch multiple 20 minute adverts for your game is worth, I don't but it must be a lot.

When he set off the nuke with nothing near it, he was standing next to it so it blew him up and turned him into a trash cube. That's why there was the respawn sound effect, he was killed by the nuke and came back. Selling a trash cube of yourself activates creative mode seemingly, or at least that's what happened in the video.
You might like a guy named Real Civil Engineer. He does things similar to Josh but a little different. He tends to build bridges in Hydroneer made out of random materials as they're added. Such as gems, rare ores, and in once case fish.
Hydroneer has mods, some made by the devs in their free time. There's also an Easter egg on the bridge, it's a bridge review left by Real Civil Engineer. There's also a mod that RCE "twisted" the devs arm to get (he didn't actually mess with the devs but they turned bridges RCE made into single items instead of multi thousand item bridges) and the devs poked back at RCE by calling it RCE's "better" bridge architecture.
Hey I got recommended this video from a vtuber with huge anime boobs. Clearly I'm most likely not your target demographic however your audio quality is crisp as heck and your presentation is professional and intro is very quick which is very attractive to a first time viewer. Hey Krakenfall, I highly recommend watching the Bridge videos that RealCivilEngineer has done, they ended up lagging the game so much the devs made them available as single pieces of landscape that can be downloaded so the game can be played with all the bridges! His latest bridge is made of carrots :P

I hydroneer the physics between two resources do have collisions but inside buckets, the truck bed, smelters and gem compactors those physical meshes aren't in place anymore so you can stack them like Josh did with the fishing basket but it's intended that way by the devs or you'd only have a few gold worth maybe 200 coins and it'd take forever to have a decent amount of cash
28:03 i had a feeling something like that existed, thats what i beleive happened on 2b2t on minecraft with the immortality machine, it was a supermassive lag machine that i beleive just put so much strain on the servers hardware where it started abandoning things in order to continue running

they did a lot of work on stopping the pallets and the truck from floating away, and physics got a lot of work on small item collision too ... this frameshow is independant items count He nuked himself to get the 1 billion reward eventually the soil clogs itself those bundles of larger dirt are the remnants of dirt thats collected together, and going into a small corridor has possibly pushed dirt through the world
you gotta remember, sometimes josh just puts on plays. he makes up scenarios in the game in order to make things more fun, but the stuff he's doing isnt actually happening in game. example here is he blew himself up, which actually cant happen, you are immune to explosions. he then got a scrap cube of 'himself' which also never happens. the weird value was probably because he spawned in a cube or something. he then sold 'himself' in cube form, which reset his world into creative mode. in reality he just restarted the game in creative mode.
At the time Josh made that video there was no option to delete exces of stuck ores and dirt so practicly every time you loaded the game they could amass to amount that playing was imposible if you did not reacted fast ,there are still some cases when you pick up bucket with ore and the game starts to slow down drasticly. That fish bucket at 11:00 had fish that each cost wass less than 50 so it was more than 30k of them and thats a lot to handle The lag was coused by dirt that got stuck on the way and was preventing other from moving forward making masive nomber of objects to process (now we have the remove all dirt pieces in options to help if that happens)

Yeah the game can continue due to calculate physics processing because it culls excess calculations. Stuff will just freeze when it reaches a destination. However since it still needs to render (which appears to be a separate thread) and rendering all the stuff is overloading the GPU.

You definitely could mark off "Explosives" too. In between each of Josh's sessions with Hydroneer, they've been asking him to send them a copy of his game save file to help them sort out where the problem areas are. I wonder how long it takes them to load it into their compilers?...
Maybe instead of a "millions of currency" tile just have an "unbelievably rich" one, that way it works for more games where the money system works differently, like, for example, park sims.

Late to the video, and not sure if anyone else already mentioned it. But i am pretty sure those big gems can be made by throwing a lot of the same color gems into a compressor (forget the name).
Btw, I think the fish didn’t explode because the amount of acceleration depends on the size of the object, so the fish just pushed each other away, but the pallets and the truck were big enough to glitch
He showed the missing gems BEFORE he went through and showed off the framey mess his final contraption made. There were no gems at the end, the frame rate was probably just due to both the contraption and all of the dirt falling off the conveyor belts.
21:05 yes you can and they have a workshop for all the mods like a useful mod flying and without creative mode because moving in hydroneer is terrible its horrific and even worst transporting items cuz you can only grab 1 drill a time

I'm using a save I started a couple years ago when I tried out the building system. I started it back up offline for a little while back in October to prepare for a video (still in progress), and now I'm just gang busters addicted lol I do polls on stream for chat to help decide what to play and chat picked NMS a couple times so far. It's really fun
I have found many games to play from watching Josh and SangerouslyFunny, but I also had many of the games they enjoy breaking before I saw them break them. Hydroneer, Satisfactory, and Astroneer are particularly funny.
