As I get older and mature I realize “good vs. evil” is seldom the case. With mythology especially but also in other fictional universes. The Jedi did evil things, super heros did evil things. Villains often have a good reason for their actions. Kinda cool to see my perspective change over the years

Well, from what little I know of the expanded universe, the Jedi are actually the ones responsible for the existence of the Sith. There was a few Jedi that thought learning more/from the darkside could be beneficial and wanted an academy specializing in the darkside. The Jedi refused, but those interested built an academy anyway. When the Jedi found out they destroyed it. I think there was a few more attempts at the academy, but each time the Jedi stopped it. Eventually, those at the academies gave in completely to darkside and started to fight back. The rest is history.
I could be wrong about so anyone please feel free to correct me.
Not exactly evil maybe, but c'mon, all the Jedi had to do was let them force lighting zap that meiloorun at the end the room lol

The Greeks had a myth that explained the Egyptian gods.
The story goes, Zeus was defeated by the Titan monster Typhus and was imprisoned in chains on Olympus. The other God’s had no chance to defeat a monster that could defeat Zeus and so they fled Olympus to save themselves. They took the form of animals as disguises and fled to Egypt where the Egyptians recognized them gods and so worshipped them as human animal hybrids
Eventually, the gods Pan and Apollo went back to Olympus to save Zeus. Pan used his mighty yell to distract the titan while Apollo used his great speed to sprint to Zeus and free him. Then Zeus battled the monster again and won, taking back Olympus.
He then threw down a mountain upon the monster to imprison him for all eternity. Even to this day the monster’s rage boils over from time to time and the mountain erupts with fire as he tries furiously to escape! His prison is Mt. Edna in Sicily, the most active volcano in Europe

    In regards to Set…
You may also want to keep in mind that the religion and mythology of Kemet (Egypt) had roughly 4000 years to develop and change, and Set is one of the oldest and mightiest Netjeru (Divinities) of Kemet, right up there with Anpu (Anubis), having even been revered since before the earliest pre-dynastic times. In other words, this divinity has been worshipped in one form or another even since before Egypt was even actually Egypt. His role within the religion and mythology has changed a lot, probably more than most of the other Netjeru. Needless to say, Set vastly predates the Ennead Netjeru-Asar (Osiris), Aset (Isis), Heru-ur (Horus the Elder), etc., and all of their related myths and legends-and thusly, he was only adopted into that much latter form of the Kemetic religion and it’s mythology to fit their narratives and agendas.
Set always symbolizes and represents chaos and many negative and destructive aspects of reality, but he also symbolizes and represents many positive and creative aspects as well. However, ever since he was adopted into to myths about the Ennead, most people have overlooked his many positive traits as his older mythology has been rejected. He is the multifarious and multifaceted divinity, the many faced Netjeru. He may have been the eternal master and origin of Asfet (chaos, destructiveness, negativity, injustice, violence, etc.), but he also defended others against it and held such forces back to allow Kemet to exist in the light of Ma’at (order, creativity, positivity, justice, peace, etc.). He is the patron of magicians (including the helpful priesthoods), and before Aset stole the true-name or Ra, he was also the foremost magicians amongst the Netjeru (afterwards he is second only to Aset). He may have ruled the deserts, dangerous creatures, and all manner of natural and unnatural disasters, but he also provided safe passage through the deserts, held back those same disasters, safeguarded every oasis, and was invoked to ward off evil spirits. He may have been responsible for violence and war, but he also taught the people to be strong and courageous enough to endure, survive and thrive. He ruled over infertility, but he was also invoked to ward off infertility by lovers wanting to conceive children, and for a long time his priesthood would even help with fertility rites and medicines. He ruled over foreigners and foreign lands, but he also helped with trade and travel. There are many more such instances of his positive traits being forgotten or outright ignored as he was demonized by the cults of the Ennead.

Also, and I don’t know where you got Apep being a “she,” when all of the actual texts refer to Apep as a very definite “he.” He’s the umbilical cord of Ra. His myths are also much younger than those of Set, making the myth of Set battling Apep another case of Set’s mythology being retconed. Apep became the chief bad guy of the religion and mythology, taking over some of the things Set originally did. Meanwhile, Set becomes the defender of Ra-just another divinity of war and weather fighting a giant chaos monster-and I can’t help but wonder if this is just a result of other Near-Eastern cultures such as the Canaanites influencing and corrupting the original myths of their Kemetic neighbors during their cultural exchanges. Eventually, much later, Apep gradually fades away from any true religious and mythological significance, being relegated to a scary background prop for Ra’s journey through the Duat (Twelve Hours of Night), and Set once again starts to fill the more traditional negative roles he used to do for the Netjeru as all foreign influences start to get diminished and rejected (including Apep), but this time without any of his positive qualities to go with him, playing villain to the newer and more popular Netjeru of The Ennead.

To possibly account for the gender mix ups, there is archaeological evidence that suggests many of the Egyptian Divinities had both masculine and feminine counterparts/forms, and that Divinities who were a blend of both or gender neutral also existed. A lot of that has been lost to history. Additionally however, during the period where archaeology in Egypt was most prominent/glorified, the most accepted English gender-neutral/ambiguous pronoun at the time was "he" leading to many Divinities being classified in the modern day as strictly male, leaving out their female or neutral aspects (not to mention the Victorian cultural biases that were imposed on them, further obscuring said aspects).

Actually some archeological evidnece from recent years, prove Horus really existed! He lived around 5000 years ago and united the upper and lower Kingdom of Egypt. The story of Horus vs Seth, like the Trojan war is inspire by real event. Of course, much like the Trojan war, we can only piece together bit and pieces of what happened, base on mythology, but it give us a rough idea what happened. A further interesting fact, when they enter Horus' pyramid, do you know who Horus look like? Barack Obama. A more interesting fact, in the pyramid there is a line that translate into English says 5000 years later a Pharaoh from a far away land west to the great sea of the world would come and visit my tomb, that Pharaoh is my reincarnation, which literally infer Obama is Horus reincarnated. And the fact the real Horus in history looked like Obama...Cool! (Wait, if Obama is Horus reincarnated then...is Osama Bin Ladin Seth reincarnated? If that is true, the mythology is for certain right about one thing, Seth is an ass hole. Wait, in that case...is seal team 6, that killed Osama Bin Ladin, the reincarnation of Horus Generals or something LOL)

Osiris definitely played a part in this unfortunate event. Therefore, I think that Set's emotions and Osiris lust got the better of the both of them. Moral in my analysis is be sure to know both sides of a story before passing judgment; the entire story without omissions gives context to the events and behaviors of the Individuals involved. This is inaccurate information. Nun which is the water is the start of creation. There are 4 worlds of creation all ruled by their own families of Gods. The four worlds are Manu, Aakhut, Rosetau, and Ament. Water, fire, earth, and air.
The world of Manu : there are 11 steps to begin creation each step is represented by a God.
Nun (water) created the sun (RA) with motion, matter, space, time, darkness, light, communication, structure, precession, rotation, and revolution. The constant motion and chaos mixed with Nun speaking creative utterings… the sun emerged from the water and is the first element to come about. Which then transitions us and leads us into the second world of creation Fire. The world of Aakhut.
There’s a whole lot more. But I’ll end it here lol
