I got wrecked (unintentionally) by Devlin DeFrancesco at a Indycar race at Sonoma. He spun into the carousel slid through the grass into my car. Then immediately left the room. I made a TikTok about it and he responded lol.
While a lot of pros are now understanding the benefits of participating in sim racing, it's clear that a lot of them (not all) still don't respect the discipline as they would IRL and they drive with the assumption of zero consequences. Unfortunate reality for now, but hopefully things will change as time continues to pass. You were definitely 100% in the right on that incident.
Not sure why youtube is suggesting this, but I'll bite. He pretty clearly doesn't think you're just suppose to give way. He thought you would take the racing line and not just stay in the middle of the track for some reason. Doesn't make sense for you to not take the shorter line as the track moves left. He thought you would take the best line to fight back, not try to pinch a car that's already half way clear of you. Just isn't a logical defensive move. Especially coming up to a corner with the easiest switchback on the whole service. Will Power is a douche, but it's not at all because of this incident or how he drove in that race. It's 50/50.
@@aarongama24 the reason to stay in the middle is to run Power to the inside of the approach to turn 3 and force him to brake earlier, this is pretty basic wheel to wheel racing. Regardless, when cars are alongside they are entitled to their lines for whatever reason they may choose them, and they can't just disregard each other.
@aarongama24 Of course I could have moved left, After him running me wide in T1 I was going to make sure he had as little space for T3 as possible. He had the outright speed overall and would have gotten around eventually. You are correct it being 50/50. thanks for watching!
youtube recommended somehow gave me this without even knowing who you are
huh
Well welcome in!
