I have watched so many of these videos this is the first time someone had done Adventure Land. I grew up 12 minutes away from there. There was a target directly next to it and that's the parking lot she landed it. 😢I haven't been to that park since the 90's i was still in elementary school.
No, she didn't land in the Target parking lot as that is on the opposite side where TopScan was. If that were the case, the ride would have had to chuck her across the entire Midway, over the City Hall building, over the Bumper Cars, and over the train tracks to just get to the fence for Targer. She landed on a car in Adventureland's own parking lot.
Why do you always have images of the video that do not relate at all. makes me crazy. you always make it look different than it is. Don't get me wrong you are amazing and love your videos i'm just saying
i dont if they changed the thumbnail but the thumbnail does relate to one of the accidents in this video. looks exactly like the ride and a woman was thrown off it
All these stories are sad af but as an autistic woman who can never move out from my parents’ house and who tries to advocate for others like me, Barbara’s death made me extra sad.
How can u say possible mechanical failures? If I jump over a fence and jump in front of a Rollercoaster going 60mph and it kills me. Is it the parks fault or mine ? Or is it a mechanical failure. Only mechanical failure I see Is with that 18 yr old mind that's the only failure I see
Neither case was an issue with the ride as both were tested after the incident and nothing was found wrong. In the Top Scan incident, the vacant seat left by the "ejected" woman, still had the safety restraints locked. She forced her way out. Being mentally ill, she probably didn't have the capacity to figure the cause of her actions. The chaperone should have NEVER taken people with disabilities on such a ride. The woman obviously freaked out and did her best to escape. The roller coaster incident was horseplay. From reading the reports, it seemed as if the ride operator tried to ride on a small flat portion on the front of the ride. Apparently that didn't go as planned and he ended up under the rollercoaster. So, here, it was personal stupidity and not the fault of the ride. The real shame is that both incidents happened within a week of each other. Outside of that, the park didn't have any serious accents since it opened in 1962.
I’ve been on a binge of your videos over the last weekend :) very informative, but I do echo other commenters in that some thumbnails and imagery is deceptive ala clickbait :( I think the content is riveting enough that the clickbait can feel almost insulting to victims and the content itself. Don’t stop making content tho! Just be mindful 😊
I like the red circle and red arrow pointing to the rider getting thrown from the ride. Us yew toob watchers aint super duper smart. Thanks for another good video!
@OP. You do have to do better background work before you go and slam a label on a park as "One of the deadliest in the USA.". First off, the park had only three incidents in its over 60 year run. Only two of which were fatalities. Ironically the two occurred within a week from each other. The two deaths were also deemed not the parks fault.as the rides were inspected for faults and none were found. In the case of the rollercoaster. It was the ride operators fault as he was messing around, while the ride was in operation. After looking at the reports, myself, Most likely he was attempting to ride on the flat area on the front of the first car. Apparently he missed and landed right in the path of the coaster. Clearly, not the fault of the ride, or the park, but rather the stupidity of an adolescent. In the case of Top Scan, after I looked at that report, again, it wasn't the fault of the ride or park. Here is what the OP leaves out. After, the woman was ejected and the ride cycle ended, her vacant seat was still locked with the shoulder restraints down. On Top Scan and many other modern rides, they have a very elaborate safety system in which the ride will NOT even start unless every single restraint is locked in place. Should a restraint open mid ride, the ride will immediately go into an emergency stop and alert the operator. When the ride was inspected after the accident, by the company that built it, it was found that all systems were working as they should. So why did the woman "fly out". Well, the key detail here was that the woman had a mental illness. Could have been Autism, but not sure there. Now, upon reading the report, I figured that the woman went into a raging fit, perhaps because of the intensity of the ride. She probably wanted to do anything to get off the ride, even forcibly working her way out of the restraints. Remember, she mentally ill, so she didn't have the reasoning to comprehend what she was doing. Now, the kicker is that she had a chaperone and it was THAT person that made her go on the ride. So, I put the fault on the chaperone as youDONT put a mentally ill person on such an intense ride in the first place. So, more than likely, if it wasn't for that nitwit, the woman would still be alive. So, again it isn't the park at fault. In summary, the OP really didn't do his homework in this case. Probably be best to remove that label as Adventureland being the deadliest park in America. This park is a family staple on Long Island and they have a pretty good safety record. They will NOT put anything in their park that is deemed unsafe. Even after Top scan was checked out, by the company that made it and it was deemed safe, Adventureland got rid of the ride anyway. I rest my case.
I really appreciate you taking the time to break this down! Your perspective adds a lot of value to the conversation and highlights the importance of understanding the facts.
@@infamousaccidents There was an accident database that was on-line. Either it was moved or has a different address. It listed every single documented amusement park accident. I think you can also find out accident information through IAAPA. In terms of Adventureland, it certainly doesn't deserve the label of the "nation's deadliest park," for only three documented incidents. If that is the case, what would have been the label for Six Flags Great Adventure when it had that haunted house fire back in 1984 that killed 8 people in one incident. That is one that you might want to research for your site if you haven't done so already. Most of the info is listed on a standard wiki: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haunted_Castle_(Six_Flags_Great_Adventure). I was around when the news hit of this this incident and it is horrific. Still, to this day, I think it is the worst park accident that I know of. Now this was a case a sheer negligence and definitely the park's fault. This single incident had changed quite a bit on the safety of enclosed park attractions.
You didn’t state what happened that made that lady fly out of the ride…or did I miss that?

"However"
I love this channel partly because the narration is so good! But also because it is informative and the facts are accurate, thanks.
That's not a carousel; it's a swing ride.

These parks have such horrific accidents, that I feel so lucky to have survived the ones I went to when young! 😬
the sound in the background of some of these vids, though faint it may be, sends my brain into meltdown (due to ptsd) and I need to leave immediately
Such a shame humanity is piss poor people have to lose there life or loss a body part to do more changes to the theme park God help these people
It's all about the $$$$$
@@rockingrandmaof2 yes your so right
