Thanks Ma'am. In my 17th lesson. Doing zig zag turns while trotting. But we only use rein aids as of now. Will try this after checking with the coach.Maintaining correct rein length is also bit of a struggle for me. Hope to improve in time.

First online trainer I have found that actually has videos describing what the heck you all mean when you say engage your seat 😅 Never understood why trainers on here seem to want to hold onto this info if they actually want to help people ride well. Many of us are trying to do research before going to a trainer and getting a horse. Thank you

Same and it doesn't help that I'm already in my forties and have scoliosis... But with that said, this advice is no less valuable, I just have to adjust my seat a little. At first my teacher didn't realise I had a medical issue that prevented me from sitting perfectly straight but since then we've figured things out.

I just discovered your channel and I have to say I really like the way you explain things. I like the way you acknowledge the importance of the rider energy in our riding. I have seen lot of video on the subject but you are so far the best at demonstrating what you say in my opinion. I am impressed with your lunging video. The communication between the horse and you is beautiful. I have seen other lunging video that's basically the horse getting scared of the movement and running in a way and then being scared or intimidated in running the other way. Your way is much more aligned with the way I hope to be able to ride. Thank you !

Great video! I just completed lesson 11 yesterday which was composed of posting trot, sitting trot, two point riding, not to forget the walk and steering. Still working on the feel, paying more attention now to proper sitting alignment and leg cueing. One thing that my instructor pointed out; when making a sharp turn from a standstill (I like this maneuver), I was leaning into the turn with my body not sitting up straight (I had no idea). Things are slowly coming along. Thanks!

Great video! She explains the concept well. I do see that she’s sitting too far back in her saddle, basically resting on the cantle which has thighs tilted backwards and not resting against the knee block. This is also causing her to hollow her back . This goes to show that all of us can improve our riding. I as a trainer as well… have several things I would like to improve. All in all great video

This was such a good video demonstration! Do you have any more like this? I am a pretty early rider and I am looking to grow as much as I possibly can. I would love any pointers you can give me on basic riding tips... how can I stay in my seat better? how can I stay relaxed so I do not tighten my legs and bounce? how can I hold the reins so that they are relaxed... I have short arms and length is most certainly not on my side, I am short with short arms... what tips might you have for me when it comes to rein work? I always feel like I am over extending just so I can keep the reins loose and in front, I never feel like I am quite comfortable in my positioning with them. what can I do to make this better? I love your description in another video you did about closing one door and opening another when we are directing our horse... do you have any other advice like that? what do you do when your horse keeps putting his head down? I feel like I am going to fly right over the horse when that happens? what do you do when the horse starts randomly backing up? how do you get the horse to stop and go forward? how do you get your horse to stand still for you when you are trying to mount or dismount? some horses I have ridden keep moving and it makes it very difficult to mount/dismount. I know I am asking a lot of questions lol... I just have so much I want to learn and understand. Any advice you can share I would be so thankful!! Thank you, I just love your videos!

In the rising trot you are rising and sitting as your horse trots. In the sitting trot you are remaining seated in the saddle during the trot. I did a couple of videos on the rising trot that may be a help.

I have intermittent lower back pains (once in 3 months) because i have been diagnosed with hernia in back. However, i do everything like badminton, cricket, running etc.
I recently discovered this sport and in love with horse. Do you suggest that i should stay away of horses because of my back complaints (because they might exaggerate?) or may be horse riding will help strengthen them. Always Thanks

I usually train on different horses every week. And last week I was training round the pen but at a specific end of the pen the horse would turn around and make it so hard for me to steer her at the right direction. I dont understand what could be distracting her

Helpful. But how do you use the weight aid while posting? The horse I ride when I ask for a trot will head into the wall and I can't seem to get her off. I'm afraid my leg is going to be hurt and then just slow down/stop. My instructor is working with me on so the horse doesn't think she can just head into the rail to get out of trotting, but I'm concerned I'm doing something to send her into the wall or not doing something to steer her away from it.
