- I try to get a 1958 Porsche 356a Convertible D that has run in years running again. This is a very special and rare Drauz built air cooled Porsche 356 that has been hidden away for many years.

I was wondering when you'd get to the Porsche.. glad to hear it run albeit a bit rough. I bought home a B engine from Germany back in the 70s and spent many years rebuilding it and using it my various VWs... great video.
My dream car right there.
Yes for sure that is a cool car
What a great car, it seems complete and original-just the way I like them. Too bad somebody damaged the bodywork trying to jack it up. It even has the old style rebuildable fuel pump. I tried rebuilding my Beetle’s pump like that, but the holes in the replacement diaphragm weren’t punched correctly and it always leaked out one of the screw holes so I abandoned it for a period incorrect modern sealed one. You must’ve found a supplier of higher quality rebuild kits than I did. Love the connectors on those older style metal fuel lines.
Awesome! I’ve only had experience with one “D” in my lifetime (besides at shows)
Beautiful car!!!!
I can't believe how clean the engine bay is!
Just found this old one, Steve, great fun!
Beautiful car basically a VW Beetle engine with twin carbs these Porsches used rust out in the UK most of the ones here now are Californian imports great video🇬🇧👍👍
It may have been first sold in 1958 but the "Convertible D" was a "one year only" 1959 model. A fully restored one, because of that rarity, sold for over a quarter million dollars!
Given the value of 356s even 20 years ago, I’m surprised it has been abandoned for so long.
Nice find
Exciting 🐱
Please show more episodes on the Porsche.
No lube down the cylinders or oil change before that fire up ?
Play with more of the old British stuff. Love those old junkers.
That's my dream too🚘
What happened with this one, Steve?
Fab car.
So Steve. Is this a business or a full time hobby. I.e. do customers come to you or do you go out hunting for classics?
