Woodward refused and thus Jose's grip/control of the squad was taken away from him and the players knew it = player power which saw also Rashford turn into the selfish player he still is today unwilling to consistently track back to help support his teammates.
People need to examine the information at the time for themselves to judge the merits of media propaganda pushing certain narratives. Jose has copped plenty of negative press over the years, some warranted, but most unjust = tall poppy syndrome at its finest.

When Jose was at Spurs I was glad to see the back of him,although Levy did a snide thing in sacking him just before the cup final.He was a great manager once.See how his Milan side played a defence and counter master class to beat the fantastic Barca side in the CL final.But football has evolved and fans and owners want to see a more attack minded manager I imagine.

I think Mourinho is victim of his own success. Imagine Mourinho being 9 years in a club and only winning 3 or 4 trophies, like Klop. He would have been sacked years ago.
The trouble is he has shown he cannot sustain consistent form in a club past 2 seasons. If he had been in Klopp's shoes I'm not sure he would have built Liverpool up to win a title in the first place. Probably would have been sacked by his third season, the season in which Klopp won the title.
