I worked at La Vérendrye for a summer and I got to say it's an amazing place to go canoe-camping! The variety of the routes is fabulous and it's possible to rent or buy almost every piece of equipment you may have forgotten! The staff is very helpful (of course!) and will be more than happy helping you figure out a route for your canoe trip!
Yannick Pahl Thanks for posting. I agree La V is a special place and the staff are top notch. They make it so easy to have a fun and safe trip and their services make the registration fees worth it.
this my man. is a briiiiiiiiiiiiiillllllllliiiiiant video. i was searching for more details about La Verendrye, look what i got. i thank you thank you!
Just happened by your video - awesome work. Will try that cheesecake recipe out on our next adventure! Always good to bring along a pair of work gloves for collecting firewood. Love the pronunciations... hilarious!
Great video. I realize the superglue/gorrilla tape worked, but the lifetime of that repair may be limited. Sometimes a bandaid to get you back to the car is all thats needed and just do the main repair when you get home. But another option you may want to check out is West systems Gflex line. Its 2 part epoxy so your going to carry two small tubes instead of one tube of superglue. But the difference will be in the repair. it will be adhere to f/g abs/metal etc and be a permanent fix. I've been very impressed with the stuff for multiple uses. crack in your food barrel, broken paddle, leak or god forbid a HOLE. keep the videos coming!
This was so informative and ispiring. Thank you. Im getting my first canoe on monday, thankfully i have kayak experience and a few small lake chains around where i live in BC. But i dream of canoeing in Ontario, and now Quebec. At least now my pup can join in on the adventures. Cheers :)
Very nice video. I still have to get out go this spot soon. It is only 3 hours from my place. Papineau-labelle is nice too. Great camping all over Quebec.
We use to go here every year through the late 1970s until the early 1990s. Even brought my wife here in 2003. Some of my best times in my life were spent here. Fishing galore. Hardly ever see another person. We would go in early September. The bugs were gone and so were the people. It would get cold. Even had snow on a couple of trips. Had bears and Lynxes come into our campsites.
Great video! I was wondering if you had any recommendations for nice 3-4 day circuits in La Verendrye. Heading there in a week and since we are in blackfly season, I'm trying to stick to big lakes to try to keep the bites down. Thanks much!
Black flies wont be too bad up there this season. I liked Circuit 35 www.canot-camping.ca/4-days.html. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I plan to be out there again this summer in late july.
Thanks for an excellent video about canoeing.... I was hoping for more info about the location, and it would be nice if the links in the film were in description box.
Amazing guide. Thank you for sharing your experience. What a great way to explore nature beyond the selfie stick points.

There are many water specific shoes built to drain and quickly dry.
