This song is a 10/10. Incredible and unique storytelling, top notch lyricism, fire beat, fire hook. I couldn't believe this was a bonus track on Relapse
yo, that's something I did not realise until your comment. And I was listening to this so much, thought about different aspect. Damn, Eminem has always more to offer, and it's cool to read comments that reveal even more of the aspects that I never thought about. Thanks for the insight!
Dude, relapse as a whole is a f*cking masterpiece. I don't care how many different voices he uses. Oh and side note, track #1 is the greatest skit/intro in hip hop history
I think he didn't like the content. He didn't like that most of the songs were about serial murder and other dark stuff. He probably associates the accents with the subject matter. I love both personally
He says in the Shade45 interview that he got carried away with the serial killer theme and lost his way with the murder-core aspect. Shame cos Slim Shady completely flipped the script with Hip-Hop
Its interesting. I had stopped paying attention to eminem by relapse and heard so much negativity about it that I never really listened. But the more I listen to it, the more I wonder what the hell is wrong with everybody.
Note to self, stop listening/caring about other peoples opinion and have your own. I had the same with revival, was kinda scared to listen to it and be disappointed. Think for yourself instead of following others.🤙
Revival is quality! Some of his best writing is on that album (i.e Castle and Arose) even Tragic Endings has an insane rhyme scheme, the beat as well is aggressive as fuck
@@rondutertre3367 yes. He didn’t acknowledge that enough in the reaction. His regular voice starts to fade in over the other because him and slim shady are on in the same. Brings it full circle and a perfect way to wrap it up
I started to listen Em only at my thirties, in 2011. I knew his carreer from the get go, but I wasn't into rap back then. "Without Me" was on my playlist since it dropped, but that's it. It started with the "Love the Way You Lie" and I happened to go on on the album and found the missing piece. Em came to to my life when I needed him the most. He's literally saved me once and as long as he's there, I'm going to Stan for him. No matter the feeling, he has something to lift my spirits. As I suffer from crps, I can get any drugs I'd want. But I don't want them. I've only used as little as possible to numb the edge of the pain. I'd have the perfect excuse to be a druggie, yet I'm not. And not about give up yet.
I soooo love this song. It's such a great track. Probably my favorite from Relapse. The concept and damn, the beat and production! There's so much going on in the background! The creepy little melody in the beginning and all the ad-lips and the demonic voice creeping in... Damn! It's like a tiny movie you can watch over and over and find new stuff.
Great reaction, this song is in a 5-way tie for my all time favorite Em song, My Darling / Believe / Not Afraid / Till I Collapse / Kings Never Die Also the 1-2-3 part starts at 1 minute and 23 seconds of the track and yes it is 6-6-6 also he says after the 1-2-3 it g-g-goes and flip g-g-g around is also 6-6-6
I remember when this track came out, me and one of my best friends loved it so much. We would always listen to it when we drank lol we would sing along with it 😂
I personally love Relapse and will never say a bad thing about it haha! You should check out "Underground" off of Relapse also, especially is you want more shady :)
I'm 39 years old I feel sorry for people where social media was no where. Just can't wait till cd came out and listen top from bottom in one listen. Then play it till next ALBULM this what this guy does.
One of my favorite parts of this song when I first heard it was the chainsaw. The entire song, you can hear it trying to be started. It’s part of the beat. Then, at the end when it starts up, so dope to me.
Em has 577K votes and is 2nd to Duran Duran who have 677K votes… Em could easily blow them outta the water with votes!!! Where are all the “Stans” and why are they not voting everyday🤷🏽♀️
Think the accents put people off as people who have listened to em for a while can get past Shady with the horror core lyrics by appreciating the lyricism with the battle of addiction that brings him out.
I have never minded the accents, Like Encore has some of my fave Em tracks of all time such as "Rain Man" and "Big Weenie". I would love to hear those songs on this channel.
How does no one mention the chainsaw tease purr throughout the track before it finally gets fully roared on once he'd started rapping along with Shady? Genius.... This is the one horrorcore song that would have been ruined by an accent.
It's not on the physical copies of relapse or refill. It's from the green lantern mixtape, I don't know if they started selling it attached to the online copy of relapse not to long ago or what but was never an official release. Trips me out how all these so called stans don't know this!
Another incredible reaction! You're the goat of the breakdown. You should definitely do Eminem Stay wide awake next. It's impressive. Especially the second verse
God am I late to the party or what. I just watched your "this may be my last ..." and I was in tears. I've been off line for a few weeks trying to self care and follow the spirit of the great advice you gave me on Instagram, I can not say enough how much you helped me get off my "cliff ". I never thought you'd write back. then to get to the end of that post just to scroll down and see you doing what you do, made me very happy. There seems to be this universal shift going on with almost everyone I know both personally and professionally, like we're all getting this gnawing gut feeling. You do care about all of us this I know to be true, follow your gut, claim your bliss, you've earned it!
Always thought of Relapse as the Slim Shady LP 2, and this track is Shady making the return. SSLP had two Marshall tracks with If I Had and and Rock Bottom, Relapse the same with Beautiful and Dejavu, not really relevant but think it’s a pretty cool connection with both albums.
I feel like he’s not having a convo with himself in this song . I truly feel like he’s having a conversation with the actual devil , and he’s explaining the downsides of selling your soul to the devil for fame and fortune ..
That can be a valid interpretation. The only reason why I feel like it's more him as a person and Shady as the alter ego is the way he fuses the two, and also how he has shown to nurture narratives over the years. Like killing Shady in Encore, thus killing the rage inside him, that returns, but also the long-standing narrative of fans through Stan and Bad Guy, or how he more recently developed the rap god and godzilla narratives for himself. Em seems to like creating some over-arching narratives for his art and display different stages from time to time. That being said, it might be something that I misinterpret, and this song can be only the devil vs him. It works that way as well.
I view it as a 3-way conversation... Marshal and Shady, Shady and the Devil, Marshal and the Devil. That Marshal wants to be "normal" but the deal between Shady and the Devil prevents it, and now Marshal has to tell the Devil "no" but Shady is tempted to go "back and do it again" causing Marshal to have to confront Shady over the effects of what happens to "reality" of life and what more is Shady willing to give up to be "that big once more", his daughter, his mentor (Dre) his life? Just WHAT is there left to lose that Shady can live with, because Marshal doesn't want to lose any of it.
Eminem is the Goat 🐐 The awesome 😎👍 It's so cool 😉👍 Eminem killed it 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Real talk about real stuff 💯‼️ Facts!!!!!!!! I like the song 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I like the video reaction
Hey Cliff, couple of things: - WHen you mentioned YT said to be patient in these trying times, my blood started to boil. Can't imagine the shit you have to deal with, I'm only affected indirectly and it makes me rage. This is just pure bullshit. Thanks for still putting out content though, however little it might be, we are here to enjoy. - I like your transparency, and the style of "no edits in this bitch", makes it all so sincere. And spares you some time on the cutting table. Win-win in my eyes. - The devil scheme with '666' is fully intentional I believe. Of course, could be a reach, but not with Eminem. The man teased 'Killshot' by playing Pacman, released it on Swayze's death anniversary. The intricacy of this man's thought process is written all over his history in the industry. Not to mention, that just before, he says "here it g-g-goes. Stutters on the 'g'. Two stutters, one normal go at the sound. That's 3 g's. Turn the letter g upside down... And then the 1,2,3 comes in exactly at one minute and 23 seconds to signify the '666'. One of those might be a coincidence. All of those? Nah, no way. -Lose yourself's and The Way I am's and Without me's and even the newer tracks are really good, but in my eyes, these creative, introspective songs are Em at his best. This track, believe, Castle & Arose, these tracks are so special. We have a lot of punch heavy, flow heavy rappers, even if not to the level of Em. But people who can creatively structure songs to specific themes, litter them with intricacies while at the same time giving you punchlines and flows, that's so rare in my opinion. And not something many artists do. Lot of rappers use their art form as therapy, and talk about emotions, traumas and the like. Not many, if any spin the theme into an end product that can not only function as a song, but also as a piece of art that can be consumed and understood outside of the medium. This works - in my opinion - as a text nearly as well. Not to mention that Eminem isn't just willing to display his heart and thoughts, but also to attack and hurt himself to further elevate his product. To construct a song where Shady is his demon that actively confronts him as a person, and to allow that demon to voice thoughts that must be painful to admit (loss of Proof, exposing his double standards and other shortcomings) and then fuse the voices into one, into himself to admit that it is not just a demon, an outside force, but he himself. He also accepts responsibility and owns his actions, good or bad. That takes balls, and a shitload of willpower. And he doesn't only do this to himself, privately, but openly. As a human being, that quality is something to be admired, even if someone dislikes the style of Em. Luckily, there are a great number of outstanding musical artists to be consumed by us, fans. There isn't many, if any that can claim likeness to Em, and his heights. For that reason I'm baffled that the Hall of Fame thing is even a discussion. Best selling Hip-Hop artist that has been doing it for decades on the highest levels (even if someone dislikes Em's music, it is hard to argue that he is not on the highest of levels) is only considered for the hall of fame, not outright inducted. I can't wrap my head around that. Anyway, cool reaction as always, at this point I should not even say it, it is to be expected of you, you do this all the time. Yet, I like to point it out every now and then. So just you don't forget for a second, that you do this reaction shit more than justice. And us, your fans who listen to you week after week. it may be only one year of YT for you, but hopefully there is more to come. Peace!

All good!! Much Love & Respect Mate From Aussie Girl!!👍🐨🦘🇭🇲♥️
We’ve all done that aswell. Slept on an album. Took me 2/3 years to go back and listen a second time. Now it’s probably my most played Eminem album. That doesn’t really say much considering I’ve probably listened to all the music to be murdered by, at least a solid 1000 times now 😆this man is outta control. Yet he’s still managed to save my life at least once. I honestly get upset at people who hate Eminem. It’s a fact. They think they don’t like him and therefore won’t listen to him. And if they do listen to a track , they don’t appreciate the flow or beat and go on to listen half ass’d. My mate wasn’t a fan. I’ve made him go on long drives with me while playing Eminem. Pausing and explaining everything. And now, he’s nearly a bigger fan then I am 😆
Aaaaand the 313 or E1E(backwards E) in the "prescription" is the shady number, it's a play on 616 which is the devil's number in old testament and not 666 which was a translation error over the years of the bible being re-written
You got to do Hit me with your Best shot by D12. It's the last song they ever did together, not many people know about it, and it was supposed to be on recovery. But it got pulled last second.
This track was not on relapse or refill when you bought the physical copy, it was on a green lantern. I don't know when they started saying it was on relapse?

As a recovering drug addict, now Relapse hits even better. There's a massive undertone of drug abuse inside the devil's intentions on this.
One of my favorite Em choruses, love this shit, Relapse (and Refill) was so underrated
Relapse is my favorite album of all time . Grew up with it being the only music in my computer for a period of time
Hands down this is my favorite shady song. So sick
What’s also cool is the fact that Eminem and the devil voice start singing over each other. As they become one again (slim)

The first 123.. hits on 1min 23 seconds as well. EM is genius
Aaaaand the 313 or E1E(backwards E) in the "prescription" is the shady number, it's a play on 616 which is the devil's number in old testament and not 666 which was a translation error over the years of the bible being re-written
HAHAHHAHAHAHA I feel you with those head phones for real. I’d be the Exact same way… though maybe less patient and more swearing 🤣
stay safe fam!
React to eminem groundhod day
Tonite from his Infinite album, 3am from his Relapse album
You got to do Hit me with your Best shot by D12. It's the last song they ever did together, not many people know about it, and it was supposed to be on recovery. But it got pulled last second.
This track was not on relapse or refill when you bought the physical copy, it was on a green lantern. I don't know when they started saying it was on relapse?
I bought the physical the day it came out, it was a hidden track, you had to let the last song play out and My Darling was on it.
I know people give relapse shit even Em himself but it is one of my favorite albums.
💯
Stay wide awake is the best one on the album in my opinion and careful what you wish for is fire too
You can't tell someone to bear with you and you not bear 😭
Please react to Eminem - Stay wide awake, also on this album! . There’s a colored scheme video too
