    What do you think of the Biktrix Juggernaut Ultra? (We love the blue color)

      Excellent review Kyle! But when you road tested the bike, you stayed in Eco and never switched to SPORT mode. Hold the + button and the screen turns red to sport. That's where you can really feel the difference with the torque sensor on PAS!! I bought the Ultra 1000 with the 52V battery and love it so much! Also added a seat dropper post!! I'm glad you agree that this is an excellent ebike!!

    When I learned the Foxbat was delayed again I have to admit I started looking around at some other options and the Biktrix Juggernaut was one of the ones I considered. While Kyle thinks it looks a lot like the Foxbat it was actually the looks that made me stick with my Foxbat order, that giant logo on the top of the frame would really bother me. I've also become such a fan of Bolton through these videos I really want to support Kyle and Bolton so I'm sticking with my original purchase.

    I'm considering a purchase of the Juggernaut Ultra 1000. However I have a 48 volt rack mounted battery from my rear hub bike. Is there a way I can use my existing battery as a 2nd or back up battery to the supplied battery on the ultra? Maybe a separate plug cord or?

    For me, the torque sensing motor is the only way to go. With TS, the bike remains a bike, it is just and extension of the rider, instead of something with a mind of its own.

    I think the Juggernaut Ultra by Biktrix is an awesome buy, blue is my favorite color by the way, I am however dismayed at the 14/21ah limitation on these battery packs. I live in a very hilly area, I live in a valley and all roads around me go up for anywhere from 1/2 mile, very steep to a mile, still very steep and when I say steep I'm talking about 45 to 50 degree incline on the average, some areas are as steep as 65 degree incline and those battery packs would be eaten up pretty quickly. That is why I'm building my own instead of buying a prebuilt E-bike. I live in south western PA, I'm about a half hour drive to West Virginia, so I have nothing but long windy hilly roads to ride on.

    This bike is very similar to my Nireeka Prime bike. I have the same bafang ultra motor, 11 speed cassette, torque sensor, fat tires, carbon fiber frame, 50 miles range, and a more unique striking design and I paid under $3000. I was able to hit almost 35mph on mine on sport mode! It’s a beast. Please review the nireeka prime. It’s an even better value honestly. Tons of upgrade and Color options too. very nice. I have just never been a fan of step through bikes. Obviously that is just a personal preference. I ended up ording the Blackbird because I love all the components on it. Though a mid drive might have been a little better for me, I just liked what you get for the price. Plus I love the name of it

    Bought this from biktrix directly last fall. My first dive into electric biking. Mine has the sram 11 speed. I have been happy. We did have a few issues which were covered under warranty, but with COVID economy and shortages, it took a while to get things/parts worked out. I use it as a daily driver and being off the bike for a few weeks at a time kind was rough. (To keep it street legal, I bought your 750watt sticker for the frame. Wouldn't hold up under scrutiny, but might help out. I never run it over the lowest setting anyway.)

    Great review! I am not only learning about what constitutes better quality when it comes to components, but getting a better idea of how much higher I am willing to go in cost on my next ebike purchase. We bought online from a company called Greenbike USA for our first ebikes. While we LOVE our folding 500W bikes, I never see any reviews online about this brand and I am seeing a lot of complaints. So far we have been satisfied but we think we want to also get fat tire bikes and ours have 20 x 2.125 tires. I'm not sure I want to go with the same company since I've not seen any reviews ...and other brands like Himiway , Bolton, Biketrix, Juiced are getting coverage online. When we bought the first time we thought we were getting quality because we have magnesium wheels and hydraulic brakes. I don't understand why some people seem to talk about 500 watt motors having to work to go up hills. While I live in Florida there are hilly areas and I have never had any issue losing speed or feeling like I had to work a bit harder going up a long grade in pedal assist 4 it kept a constant 14+mph. Sorry to ramble, but I am so impressed with how you comment on other brands and talk about ebikes not in a way that is in any way self-serving but with concern for meeting the RIDER's (customer's) needs.

    Great video Kyle! I love that they upgraded to a torque & cadence sensor. As a heavy rider myself (280lbs) would you suggest the 27.5x3 tire vs. 26x4 to save some rolling resistance and weight? I pretty much stick to pavement or gravel, hard pack dirt roads, and maybe occasionally sand for a beach access. Also, do you think with the lighter 3" wide tires, is it worth upgrading the brakes or will the oem stock ones do the job? Lastly, any preference in batteries such as the 48V 21ah 1008Wh vs. 52V 17.5ah 910Wh? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. I will need a 19" frame so just waiting for those to come back in stock before making a final decision.

    ?HUH? 1000W at almost $3K?!? PEOPLE, build one yourself. Get a BBSHD with the Ludicrous controller from Lunacycle, and 2 15ah 52v packs and make any bike 10x better than this video bikes for less $$$$. I built a bike that looks just like the Ruffian from Ruff-Cycles for $2500 with the above motor and it beats any bike I have tried, which is close to 60. Oh, and with the Ludicrous/ BBSHD I get just over 50MPH top speed on flat surface. And the dual 15ah packs get me around 100miles. Telling you, build one yourself. You will learn everything about your bike, and get to customize it to YOUR liking.

    Kyle, Please compare this Biktrix Ultra 1000 with the Bolton Blackbird. The price is almost the same within $100 ($2599 Biktrix Ultra 1000, tax and shipping included) ($2518 Bolton Blackbird with tax insurance, and shipping) . Mid drive verse the hub drive. This time put the Ultra 1000 in SPORT mode and really show how it climbs hills and accelerates on the flat road. Show how well the Blackbird performs and how it's worth the wait. I challenge you to do it!

    • @Area13ebikes
      @Area13ebikes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Tax isn't a fair comparison as that only applies in certain states or areas. The blackbird has a better fork, brakes (stock), etc, but the juggernaut has a bit more power with the ultra motor.

      There are ebikes out there in that price range, but they are limited in power and usually have barely acceptable quality componetry.
      The batteries have costs that, as of now, can't come down with volume, manufacturing efficiency, or anything else in the control of the bike builders.

    • @blakeberlin6295
      @blakeberlin6295 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SmokinTaz07 I certainly understand economic limitations, but my guess is that Kyle wants the Bolton brand to be quality (not highest performance or even best) with compelling prices for the quality, with customer support that draws and keeps customers.
      I don't think he can offer what you need while still meeting his goals. Besides, if your needs CAN be met elsewhere, why must your choice be a Bolton?
      Good luck. Btw, I have been dirt poor and quite wealthy. I am thankful to be in good shape now, but experience has taught me that while I can never control what happens to me, I always control my response to circumstances.

    Good review...I was considering this bike but opted for the Blackbird. Eventually deciding on the bafang hub drive vs the mid drive. One thing I was concerned about was the loudness of this mid drive and you can hear it some on the ride sequence up the hill. Ok on trails but thought it might be too much on the road even with knobby tires. What did you think Kyle...on the bikes road noise? Thanks again good review and glad you will be carrying this brand👍🏼

      I thought the same thing when I ordered the Blackbird, but good thing they were back ordered for so long I cancelled and bought the Biktrix Ultra 1000 with the 52V battery. It has cadence/torque senors with 1500W and 160Nm of torque in this motor. It would be nice to compare the mid drive to the hub or not! The motor has a little bit of sound but not noticeable when riding 40MPH!!

      David that’s cool. I’ll eventually get a mid drive full suspension ebike...decided I’d like to try the Max but first things first waiting on the Blackbird...soon. Biktrix are a bunch of crooks. Roshan Thomas will quickly change his bragging of power and speed, to bogus accusations of user misuse and abuse to avoid warranty claims. After the warranty runs out you will find out what a real liar he can be.
    I waited over 3 months just to get it in the shop for a $90 clutch repair estimate and after he gave me the run around for another 3 weeks, it suddenly turned into a $380 main rotor replacement. I wouldn't pee in his mouth if his head was on fire.

Unhappy because we said it'll cost you $380 (that's under our cost + free 2h labor) to replace your $980 retail bbshd motor as it wasn't under warranty anymore. Unhappy because your uncouth comments got you banned on our Facebook forum (as you still hold the record for most reported comments on the group ever).
