i hate to be a pedant but isnt it pronounced ostia instead of osettia? very good video and helps me learn more about roman culture and how their society worked
English speaker usually completely invent pronounces because their language has so many random pronunciations XD Italian words are meant to be read exactly how they are written
“Many Latin colonies joined Hannibal” I used to like this channel but errors like this kills it for me. Not a single Latin colony joined Hannibal. Not even one! Please name one if you believe otherwise.
i don't think anyone is an idiot.. but this narrator aint no idiot. unless they're from Iowa... Okay, everyone in Iowa is an "Idiot Out Walking Around" but.. simply by virtue of the acronym.. not in substance of the i ran out of words.. whatever. at least Iowans aren't ill and annoying. *cough*

How did the grant of Roman citizenship to these colonies affect their relationship with Rome and their own cultural development?
Ostia being pronounced Ossetia makes sense when you understand Moscow to be the third Rome.
Just a great video, colonies is not a offen speaken topic besides some niche papers.
Thnak you
