Small suggestion : place trapdoors on the hoopers too, cuz i noticed that some of the dropping xp orbs are half stuck in the hoopers. This fixed it pretty easy.
Glad to see a tutorial that has enough pace and humor to keep me from getting distracted :"D Made the farm, but it seems to stop working after a while, only being filled with spiders... But then again suddenly works well for a few seconds. Slow, but it was easy so oh well :D
So I’ve built this type of mob grinder twice (I’m on Xbox btw) and for some reason the mobs are so slow to spawn and I get barley any creepers. Any suggestions on how to speed up spawn rates?
You cannot have the water pour back toward the middle, as the fall would be to great. Instead, build a second layer that has the water pour from the middle back toward the outside of the grinder (water to water), and build the rest of the grinder to normal. You may find a dead space between the floors, you can either remove the floor, or make that into a spawning area as well by making a 2x2 checkerboard pattern of blocks and gaps, and fill the holes with trap doors again.
Why isnt it working for me? I went up to 128 to build my initial platform then went 20 up like you. I built it out of cobbled deepslate. I keep turning my render distance up and down to see if anything changes and it doesnt
@@sprite848 Ok well I fixed it, I did build high and it didn't work cause it was like what 126 in the vid, anyways there was a huge cavern under the village I set it up at so I just lit it up but thanks for the advice
Can someone help me out the mobs aren't coming down the tube and I followed the tutorial. The only thing I did differently is added stone brick walls at the platform where you kill the mobs, could this be it?
I've built this farm two different ways and still nothing has spawned doesn't matter what I've done. I'm playing bedrock 100 blocks or more from any land and sea floor changed render distance done all sorts of things changed to hard mode and still nothing
I had to move the platform down where you stand by 8 or so blocks (lowering the hoppers and chest as well). It should start working for you then. This will also kill the mobs when they fall so you don't have to sit there and sword them down. I think this has to do with spawns not occuring within 24 blocks of you. Also make sure you have torches on the roof of the spawner too, or mobs will spawn up there and just hang out.
Ive changed my height multiple times also lit up any caves just in case even though I'm high enough up increased my render distance idk I'm gonna try in creative so I can mess around with it allot quicker
@@paoladiaz5538 no I started a creative world did the exact same thing and it worked within seconds. Set the creative world up the exact same way as my survival world also
it does kinda work the spawn rate is just significantly lower because the mobs that are supposed to be spawning in the spawner are spawning around in the cave , i just recommend over the ocean there’s only drown in the ocean, that’s worked the best for me personally.
I died doing this bc I went into my inventory but my game didn't register that I went in my inventory so when I went to move my cursor around, instead of opening my inventory I just walked off and fell from fall damage 💀
You wouldn't get xp or loot, make it how the video did, afk for a bit, come back and kill them all, they are one hit, literally one hit with stone sword, two with wood 👍
Let's just say you were right about putting "safety water" below...

I dit do safety first and died in my hardcore 😅

Try placing carpets to prevent 2x2 block gaps
Good tutorial but I had to use 15-17 stack instead of 8 good vid tho 👍

do a 3x3 if you can it helps with spiders not clogging the hole along with a 3 or 4 high ceiling.

you don't need the trap doors if you make the wall and put the water in the corners

Hey my mob farm doesn’t work please reply
Don’t place it 128 in the air it makes it so only when you’re up there they spawn
I was building over the ocean then i jumped down in the water to get more cobble then a glitch made me get killed when i touched the water
Why do you go up128 blocks first?
So mobs will not spawn below the farm and reduce rates in the farm
I mean 128 blocks is reliable. Somewhere lower than that can cause many problems on mob rates.
