    Hi,
    Thanks for posting it was very helpful. But I have one doubt.
    Here in the summary question we have 3 options which have incorrect information so that options are ruled out but if the information is correct but it is in minor perspective so how to identify that . Can you please help me out in that case.
    Thank you

    • @juva
      @juva  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi 😀 That's an excellent question! Once you know that an answer is correct, you must decide whether it's a minor or major idea of the passage. I recommend doing this: Ask yourself whether there would be something missing in the passage if you took this information away. If you feel that there would be a gap, it's likely that it's a major point.

    Hey Juve great video! I have a question regarding the summary question: Is it always the case that all the answer which are not correct are automatically false, because I did the experience that they are also answer choices which are true but contain minor information. I find it hard to figure out which information is minor. Do you have any advyce ?

    • @juva
      @juva  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Cihan, I'm so glad you like the video :). That's a great question! In summary questions only those answers are correct that are main points of the passage. If the answer contains a minor point that is mentioned in the passage, it is incorrect. The reason for this is that a summary only includes main points of the passage, not minor points. To figure out whether you are dealing with a minor or main point, think about which role this point plays for the passage as a whole: Is it necessary to mention this point in order to describe the passage accurately or not? Hope this helps!

    I am still confused with Q5. With options c and d

    • @juva
      @juva  ปีที่แล้ว

      That' s a great question! 😀 D is incorrect because the paragraph does not say that the writing system was too complicated for most people to read. It states that very few people ever learned to read and write the language, but this does not say that this was because it was too complicated. I hope this helps!

    In organizational questions, do you always have read the sentences before the letter or after.

    • @juva
      @juva  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's an excellent question! Usually it's sufficient if you read the sentence before the letter. Sometimes it may be useful to read the sentence after that as well. Generally, if you are unsure about where to put the sentence, have a look at the sentences around the letter. This will help you decide whether it's the correct place or not.

      Hello, I'm so glad you like it :). That's a pity that you had these issues. I'd recommend contacting ETS as soon as possible and asking them. Hope this helps!

    What to do if we don't know exactly the meaning of the words from the answer choices?

    • @juva
      @juva  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a great question! Have a look at the context and try to understand what the answer choice says and whether this fits the context or not.

      According to the ETS website you may use an internal or external speaker. I'd recommend contacting ETS or ProctorU before you take the TOEFL, just to be sure. Hope this helps :).

    Hi Juva, since two years ago I have been trying to improve my reading in TOEFL but I always get the same score (18) but during the test and my simulations I can´t focus because I feel I´m running out of time and I can´t understand well what I´m reading, so it is so difficult for me to focus, also I feel like I´m getting boring during the simulations. But when I review this section slowly after the practice, I realized that it was not so hard as I thought. Do you have any advice to improve my reading skills in order to focus better during this section? I also have this problem when I read a book or an article in my native language (spanish).

      @juva  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kevin, no worries, you can do this :). First, figure out where the problem is: do you struggle with a particular question type, or time management, or do you need a different reading strategy? Once you have figured this out, you can practice and improve. Have a look at my TOEFL Reading playlist: you can find lots of practice tests and reading strategies there. If you have any questions, put them in the comments, I'll be happy to answer them. Hope this helps!

      @@juva my problem is with detail questions, I feel i spend a lot time on them. But I do not know if I have to read the paragraph or read the answers choices first and then read the paragraph. Because when I read the paragrapgh first, I forget some important parts of the information and i have to read again and that´s when I spend too much time.

      @@juva I'm having the same Kevin's problem... Because sometimes in the details questions you read all the paragraph first and sometimes the alternatives in the question... What we can do first?

    • @juva
      @juva  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@laisebarbosa4370 The best strategy is to check each answer choice and eliminate wrong answers. Read the first answer choice, then have a look at the passage and check whether the answer is correct or wrong. Then check the second answer choice and so on. This way you check each answer separately which makes it easier to find the correct answer.
