    Hey Alex great review. In the title it says Kimgslim which is correct but in your notes it says Rove D4 Dual Dash Cam, looks like a typo. Anyway I had looked this cam over and there were two small negatives, one and this really small as it does not use the usb-type c and the other is that it has an internal battery. Living in TX I am concerned about it overheating and expanding the case. I would not mind having a wiring harness if it had a capacitor but I do like that it has the parking mode without being wired up but I also know it usually will not last more than 24 hours with out hard wiring.

    • @AlexAutoFun
      @AlexAutoFun ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the heads up Ken! Typo fixed 😁 Ah yes the great debate of lithium battery on dash cams, I definitely gives you the advantage of not having to hardwire the dash cam and capture a few incidents when parked (hopefully you car is not getting several times while parked! LOL) but yeah capacitors are a better choice if you live on an area that sees high temperatures and the installer will be hardwiring the dash cam. Hopefully you guys are doing ok over there with the rain? we are getting hit again this weekend (ugh, it has delayed several of my videos but at least it has not affect us badly like some areas of California) Cheers friend!

    Do you support continuous recording around the clock? And all day long? continuous recording? Or record for a maximum of 5 minutes only and stop recording? Please clarify this information?

    • @AlexAutoFun
      @AlexAutoFun ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi SUPERSTAR! Correct, it will record continually while driving. The maximum amount of time you can record will be determined by the size of the memory card that is loaded, the resolution setting, if you are running both cameras or only front and if you have any "flagged videos" of car crashes (those by default will not be deleted by Dash Cams, they require manual deletion). Dash Cams use something called Loop Recording, once the memory card is full, the oldest videos are overwritten by new video (loop recording). Hope this helps. Cheers!

      The problem is that it does not support large memory, such as 1TB or 512 GB, only support for the highest 256, and this fills up quickly together, recording in 1080 resolution from the front and from the back

    Hey what dash cam do you highly recommend?

    • @AlexAutoFun
      @AlexAutoFun ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Evelin! Ah that is a good question I get often. I think the best dash cam depends on what you are looking for in a dash cam. I run different ones on my cars so what I usually tell people looking for the right dash cam for them is to start by picking the style of dash cam (Mirror or classic stick). Then how many cameras does it need to have (1, 2 or 3). Now that you have narrowed your selections, consider how much you want to spend on one, that will narrow your choices even further. Then consider any special features you are looking for such as 360° video, Backup to SSD, BSD Support, Side Camera, Wi-Fi, Parking monitor without hardwire, cloud support, High Frame Rate. Finally you would want to compare video quality (I have several dashcam reviews on my channel under the playlist "dashcams" if you like to compare). I just began working on a video to compare my top picks for different categories, stay tuned, Cheers!

    • @AlexAutoFun

      Hi @Hassbulla! Correct, it needs to be connected to the cigarette lighter plug of your car to turn on, here is my installation video if you want to see what that looks like th-cam.com/video/44WXN8MI66o/w-d-xo.html (same as a mirror dash cam, but instead of placing the dash cam on top of the mirror, the D4 is mounted directly to the windshield of your car) Hope this helps, Cheers!

    I have the D4 dash camera. The problem with me is the viewing angle it is not adjustable. I look at more of the sky than anything in my car. For that amount of money, you should be able to adjust the angle of view up and down.

    Right now we all thirsty for the best mirror dashcam with wifi wireless rearview cam & the fxt version is ok but it's external wifi transmitter is wack and should have built-in wifi & different direct power feed for dashcam power source

    • @AlexAutoFun
      @AlexAutoFun ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ras! Unfortunately I have not seem much demand for a mirror dash cam with a wireless rear camera. I believe this may be due to the need to run a cable all the way to the back of the car on a normal dash cam, or having find a power source in the rear of car, then tap into that power source and then run only a small length of cable to the rear camera (both methods the wireless and wired requiring some level of installation) But I have seen the FXT one, seems interesting but I have not tested it but sounds like the same premise of requiring wiring to power the rear camera. I will keep my eyes open if anything else comes out, I can certainly review it. Cheers!
