Unfortunately, a lot of people seem to expect him to continue his exact same style from the mid-2010s (Fade, Spectre, Alone, etc.) But styles change over time, and while his old songs were indeed great, his new ones are remarkably well-made and fun to listen to (honestly, I believe that some of his newer songs are more carefully mastered and polished than his older ones). The problem is, people who became fans of Alan Walker for his electro-swing and electro-house songs are now upset because his style is more centered around deep house. It isn’t even just him that’s switching to deep house, lots of other electro and progressive house artists are doing it. Swedish House Mafia recently posted two awesome new songs for the first time in years, but instead of their normal progressive house style, the songs were more chill/deep house. Of course, this doesn’t negate the obvious quality and work put into their new songs. The fact is that electro house music was especially popular during the 2010s, but now that it’s less popular and deep house music is becoming more mainstream, people are naturally complaining because it’s different from what they grew up with. So, to answer your question, a lot of people are probably just nostalgic of Alan Walker’s old style and are upset with his changing music taste. But tastes change, there’s nothing we can do to keep that from happening. However, if we embrace the new deep house trend and praise artists who utilize it well, then who knows, we might just enjoy it in the process. It’s very possible that in ten years, a new form of EDM will be popular and people will be nostalgic of deep house and will wish that their beloved artists hadn’t moved on from it. We can’t go back to the past or predict the future, but we can enjoy the music of the present.

For example..he released his new song paradise or some other sweet dreams fake a smile kinda songs... I heard them once .. but never gone back to those songs and my mind didn't even tell me revisit those songs... But faded and his old songs I revisit them everyday...his new songs are not catchy as his old songs...except this one.. running out of roses gives the old Alan vibes back... I don't hate his new songs but yeah they are not for me
If you count people suggesting him to continue with his old style as 'hate' then u'd count me one of them. We don't hate his new songs, infact they're absolutely awesome, energy filled. You see, he had created a completely new style of EDM when he started out with Faded, Force, Spectre, Alone, Sing Me To Sleep, etc. People recognised him for the characteristic pluck and many other music elements, which made him unique. His current tracks can be made by any good producer, but his original style music can only be made by 'Walker'. Hence we're insisting him to stay unique rather than going mainstream. Who other than family members complains about changing a habit, etc? 😉 We still love his songs though!
