That whole vapor barrier thing , on the Internet, is a kin to talking politics in church. I think I sorta kinda understand it at this point. Cool progress!

Yeah, I used to run plastic over the insulation bats, but if the outside wall isn't fully encapsulated and condensation moisture works into the cavity, it can rot the wood. Smart vapor barriers allow moisture to dry out without allowing cold air to penetrate the living space. That's my understanding of the building science. The silver stuff is meant for attics, but needs to not directly touch the surface to be fully functional. I just ran some 1/4" cutoffs as spacers to offset the OSB from the material.
