What terrible HR policy allows an uninformed junior member of staff like Lesley to come off their premises and interface with the public. Where was their PR person or a director who has been trained to handle public relations?
It's obvious more senior people were aware. But none had the balls to come out. Fair play to Leslie. For someone with zero knowledge about drone laws, that was a very polite and reasonable interaction.
I agree she seemed like a nice person didn't come out agressive or know it all attitude like most people do only flaw I saw was she didn't even offer DJ a cuppa looked like quite a cold day.
I suppose the big tough guys were cowering behind their desks while they sent poor Lesley out to fight off the nasty drone attack. Shame, shame, shame!
Don't put yourself down Lesley, you ARE an important person as you are first point of contact. Your HR/Health & Safety person should have confronted DJ, not you. At least now DJ has made you aware you can tell the hierarchy to do it themselves.
Lesley did the best she could. She remained civil. I noticed the pause when she realized Google Maps had the same photo as you were getting with the drone.
Now that's what I call multi tasking. Leslie's the receptionist and head of security. The least Linde could do is provide her with a hi viz jacket if she's expected to go outside in the rain to challenge suspected criminals.
Trying to help? LOL. Watch again, another gormless fool with perceived authority spouting rubbish, thinking she's privileged enough to interrogate a law abiding member of public! SMH.
I really felt sorry for Lesley, no way should she be sent out on to a public street to deal with a unknown member of the public (no offence DJ), you handled it brilliantly.
@@davidnelson3757 Not by DJ but against him. He was doing a legal activity in public and they approached him. They could walk away any time they want. By continuosly going and asking DJ not to do a lawful activity they are the ones that could be dealing with harassment charges.
I found your videos on TikTok and I really enjoy them. The reason is that you're always polite, but you're also not like other auditors where it becomes some irritating power struggle with people and police. You explain what you're doing, you engage with people, you extend olive branches, but you also maintain your privacy when needed in a polite and non-aggressive way. Really enjoying the videos.

DJ I think you set a shining example of what proper auditing should look like, I say this because auditing has had a bit a negative stigma attached to it of late, and I'm a person that doesn't even agree with using the term "auditing" but understand it helps with social media viewing traffic and what not. The point I'd like to make though about it is that it's way more nuanced than just a black and white - Auditing BAD, never exploring a place of business GOOD! Sure there are some auditors with bad attitudes and they have no business doing it, but to say it's bad to be inquisitive about a company and what they do (even providing free advertising) is just wrong in my opinion. It's very interesting and reestablishes the actual understanding of legal boundaries.

So you like to take pictures basically
If you are photographing a building for commercial gain you need a property release form and get permission from the owners of the building
If this guy with the drone repeatedly flys his drone over a building , when asked not to it could be deemed as harassment ,
Also there are issues surrounding GDPR , where is the data stored , has any privacy been breached ? a legal minefield
also low level airspace , ie what drones fly in is not the same as high level airspace different laws apply So his google explanation is not valid
I don't think its been challenged yet in court with regards to drones , but the land owner, owns the low airspace , hence the landowner can stop a tower Crane swinging over their land , or charge for the privilege , or you can ask a neighbour to chop down an overhanging branch that is on your property flying a drone over property could be classed as trespass a civil matter
if you caused an accident flying the drone the courts would want to know if you had permission to take off from a particular location , this is not as straightforward as you think . permission should always be sought
A recent job I did I had no option but to use a drone , after I checked a suitable (legal ) location to take off from , I had to send google maps screen grabs , to lawyers before images were published ,
flying a drone to antagonise low level employees , gives drone users a bad name
