Really liked how you presented your trip - slow moves, details, looking around, looking to the floor and no music, just people talking, it felt so real! Thx for letting me enjoy this with you ❤
Wow is all I can say about your wonderful trip up to Machu Picchu. I'll never get to go there, I'm so grateful for your excellent video, thank you soooo much for sharing this stunning experience. (Loved your hat, Angela!).
What an amazing trip! I probably won’t make it there, so I appreciate you sharing your tour. I am very impressed how economically you were able to make this trip.
I have been waiting for this vlog. I went on a tour of Peru and have so many precious memories. Yes Machu Picchu was one of the top memories. Also the floating islands of Lake Titicaca where they had lots of grassed open area pens for raising guinea pigs. All the hotels in the higher altitude had coca tea set ups in the rooms and lobbies. I'm glad Ya'll were able to fulfill your bucket list trip. Your smiles and laughter especially during the bloopers is so heartfelt. Thank you for sharing your trips. Happy 100 days🎉 ❤❤
Wow 100 days already, how time flies!! What a great adventure in Peru, the plaza looked very festive and lively! thanks for sharing! ❤ its on my bucket list! PS: absolutely stunning scenery! ❤
Wow! Beautiful ~ loved all the different views you took, felt like I was there, the legs of the journey was fun to see how you get so high up there. Definitely a bucket list item
Wow! Utterly breathtaking! Thank you so much for sharing this guys. I’m so happy that you got to tick it off your bucket list. I tend not to eat outside the lines either 🤣 The restaurant was a gorgeous spot though and the view was beautiful 😍 Your bloopers had me laughing along with you at the end🤣 Laughter is so infectious and good for the soul so thank you! Looking forward to your next video!
Incredibly beautiful trip to Machu Picchu! This is very much on my bucket list. Thank you for sharing the trip with us. The mountain views are just stunning.
Two of my young grandsons were there this past summer and really enjoyed it. My daughter (their Mom) used to be a travel writer and these 2 young guys have been to so many countries and continents.; I'm jealous of them! I'm enjoying your videos of your different locations also, Angela; keep them coming, friend!
O no no no eating Guinea pigs! Ack! I saw Steve eyeing up those donuts! They looked great. Wow what steps and rides you had to do to get up there! Amazing! Talk about filling up your eyes with wonder! Wow! Thank you for showing this!
Hi Friends :) *The only thing that sucks about the Villa Vie Odyssey is - I'm not there! Have fun for all us and thank you for sharing your journey ( even when you are high lol 🙃😉)
What a fascinating tour. Thank you for sharing. You seemed to handle the altitude well. It must have been an emotional experience, in addition to being so fascinating and beautiful. On the trip from the mountain in the bus, both of you looked somewhat stunned. I can imagine the emotions in visiting such a miraculous place. But Steve, a hamburger?
I don't think I have had tears while watching anyones video before, but today I did. That was so amazing. How long were you actually in machu picchu? Wow, wow, wow.
Outstanding place. You got so many vistas once the early mist cleared. I’m off to read up on it now! You lucky people! And it’s 100+ days since I saw your friends on the Booze Bicycles in Belfast! Happy New Year from cold, wet, snowy, sleety Norn Iron 😊
Thanks....what an experience and trip to view..made me feel very high too,,,lol.. Amazing videography (thanks Steve,,,you heartbreaker...haha) and love the casual meal moments too..😎
Before buses and trains arrived to take you to Machu Picchu it was a pretty tough and long journey getting there. Buses in 1995 and trains in 1999. Now too many people can get there and it endangers this relic.
WOW! WOW! Amazing!!!! I've never been there so I really appreciate your excellent tour. (My husband watched a little and is impressed by your video quality. He's really into photography and he thinks you've upgraded your gear. 😉). Great job recording this and thanks so much for taking us along. I'm sharing this video with others. Was this one of your best travel days ever? Had to be! I'm so glad you got to go. It will be hard to top that! 😊❤
You did a fantastic trip and I am surprised at how inexpensively you were able to manage it. Having the private guide was a big bonus I am certain. WELL DONE!! (Wow, those hotel prices.....what a deal! How would you rate them and would you stay in them again??)
I loved this video. I have always wanted to go to Machu Picchu but am physically not able anymore! Some of that video looked almost fake. Wow! Keep up the good work!
Wow…I didn’t realize it was as populated as it looked ! Can I be a bit bold to ask how much this little excursion (including flights) cost you in US dollars? What an amazing New Years celebration to remember. Absolutely breathtaking scenery. Crazy to see little rivers running through the streets with the trains! I’m with both of you for “not eating outside the lines”. I gotta admit…the heights are a bit nerve tingling for me. Would love 💕 to do this journey as well! Did the cruise book this adventure for you…or did Angela do her magic? Thank you so much for sharing 😍.
One more thing…I would have definitely taken a pebble to add it to my tiny glass bottle pebble/sand memory shelf of amazing places I have been. Every time I look at one of my tiny bottles…it brings me right back to where I was. 🥰
Hey friends!! Wow 100 days already seems like you just left Belfast! What an amazing trip would love to see machu pichu! Would love to go there! Were the alpacas naturally there or there for tourists? The summer of ‘97 I took a nature conservancy trip with my parents to Peru! We flew into Iquitos and boarded a refurbished fishing boat and traveled down a bit of the Amazon was an amazing trip!
So Cool!! That final destination was worth all the crazy travel hassle. 😮🤠👍 So happy for you two!! The closest I will ever get to there is the asparagus I steamed last night, it came from Peru. 😄
Question: does Villa Vie help you with travel arrangements for trips such as this one? Would it be considered like a shore excursion or did you have to do all your own planning?
They do plan excursions, but just like other cruise lines, we find it cheaper to do it ourselves. Several residents aboard planned trips and invited anyone who wanted to join.
We just switched to a new plan. Steve has T Mobile Magenta. It works worldwide and costs 80 a month. I do not have anything and just hot spot off his if needed. We were using Orange for Europe and Voxi for the UK, they are cheap but didn't cover everywhere...
💗Wow! Thanks for a beautiful tour! Just wondering--you were gone several overnights--was the VV in port the whole time in Lima? Or did you have to fly back and catch them at another port? Sorry if I wasn't following that very well. Either way, you really planned it great budget-wise! 💗
The ship isn't polar certified, and I don't know how it ever will be. I don't know how that works, but it seems like way more than what it would be worth. Maybe in the future VV will get us close, then charter a certified polar ship to take us close...only time will tell.
Postponed...I can't see this ever being polar certified, it is hard enough for new ships... I am guessing they will eventually do a work around and get us all near by then charter a polar certified ship...all just a guess since I am no expert, but financially speaking, if I was in charge I wouldn't bother going through what seems like a huge process to get polar certified... I would just come up with a work around.
Wow, just wow! Love your story and thanks for the cost breakdown. Noticed you repositioned your bed. Wondering why? I liked your being able to look out your window while lying in bed.

It was amazing!!
Thanks for the mind-blowing views of Machu Picchu!
I’m terrified of heights so this is the only way I’ll ever see this. Thank you!
We didn't walk near any ledges and felt very safe...but I totally understand!
Machu Picchu was really something bet that was quite an experience

We spent the day up there...a 4 day trip in total, but a few hours within the Machu Picchu park though...just stunning!

The hotels were definitely budget hotels, but we did get a great breakfast in each. Not Marriotts, but more like mom and pop places...decent enough...
I loved this video. I have always wanted to go to Machu Picchu but am physically not able anymore! Some of that video looked almost fake. Wow! Keep up the good work!

Great video!!!!

I believe the guide said they were brought in at some point...
Great video! Was the ship still in Lima when y'all were returning or did you have to meet it at another port?
In was in Calloa, the port town right next to Lima. (15 minutes to the airport.) We docked for 4 days so we did the trip in that time frame.
So Cool!! That final destination was worth all the crazy travel hassle. 😮🤠👍 So happy for you two!! The closest I will ever get to there is the asparagus I steamed last night, it came from Peru. 😄
Ha! That's pretty funny! I do love asparagus!! Thanks for watching!
Just gorgeous! Wow! But unsafe for guinea pigs and llamas.
Haha, you are right!

They do plan excursions, but just like other cruise lines, we find it cheaper to do it ourselves. Several residents aboard planned trips and invited anyone who wanted to join.
can you advise on the cell coverage you recommend for this type of travel? and the costs you have experienced.

We were in Callao for 4 days. (15 minutes from the Lima airport.) We jumped off right when we arrived and returned before setting sail.

Thank you so much...too kind!!!
You’re welcome
was the ship in port for those days? who sets up your port travel, do you have a secret?
We were in Calloa near Lima for 4 days. They do have someone to organize, but we plan ourselves since it is less expensivs our way.
.
When do you arrive in Antarctica?

How high are you?
Ha ha Cusco is 11,152 feet above sea level, Machu Picchu is 8000 ft.
