@@SirFaceFone I think it reached it lowest point when they made adults and teen sims basically the same. Outside a few restrictions on Sims, they even, more or less, same the same model with YA. Same height and everything unless you use mods.
i haven’t played the sims 4 in a while but jeez, is this really the quality of game packs coming out nowadays? this seems like you’re paying money for a bunch of fetch/filler quests, you’re doing the same thing over and over it seems like what else is there to do? and this seems to be extremely lazily made. the best thing imo about this is the aesthetic of the town, but other than that, what else is there that’s... fun? sure, you have the card games, light sabers and the droids, but most of the time those aren’t even used to do the main quests. i wouldn’t be paying money for this any time soon.

The way they handled aliens feels like something a mod would do as a result of modding limitations, EA had the full capability of making them new sim types but still took the same route.
They should do a QOL update and make them occult they are just making themselves look bad putting them as hats. Or at least simply move them to skin details rather then hats a modder has done it already.
No new occult like Jedi/sith or alien No new powers No new supernatural eyes/teeth Aliens cas parts are just disguise No new death No drama gameplay because Star Wars No Jedi/sith/republic(senator) faction The pack is basically a new vacation world with stars wars theme lmao
@@tropicalsquid8802 Force Choking is a good idea, but they've generally gone out of their way to avoid direct murder by other Sims. Even the fire spell can't be used on an already singed Sim. You have to light the environment instead. And vampires are completely non-lethal. But they *could* have put in something like a speeder bike crash, or a cryogenic freezer accident. Or even, ya know, accidently impaling yourself with a laser sword.
Star Wars itself doesn't really match with the free gameplay style of the Sims, it would be better if it was one of those Spin-off Sims games with story and everything
I always wanted something Star Wars themed for The Sims because of sandbox style gameplay. There are already loads of SW games. But to really have a Star Wars-like game you'd need a total conversion so a spin-off would make sense. The thing is that The Sims Medieval and other games were limiting so a SW spinoff would be the same.
It's been years since they made a Sims spin-offs like Medieval and Castaway. They just wasted a whole lotta shit in trying to convince people to buy this pack which is pretty much a lame expansion to be honest. I guess more people would get interested if they planned to turn this one into a spin off instead, and also no angry sim mob boycotting this new EP.
I think they made a restriction because otherwise the npcs would be walking around with normal clothes and it wouldn't look as immersive. But alien skins could definitely be the whole body, idk why they decided to do such a half assed version.

Since it was star wars and I knew they liked star wars, I was hoping they went all out for it. Add alien races, make this world like the alien world except more flushed out. I guess I just expected them to go crazy with the alien idea and build onto what they already had. The shop keepers are sort of ok. It would have been nice if I could go into a store and actually look at what is in the store. Maybe like how old school gameboy games were, enter store, see item, talk to shop keeper to open said shop keeper dialog and buy items. The amount of interactive items vs non interactive items is sort of the big problem with the sims 4. All that stuff and my sim can't do anything with it.
SW is not about Aliens, though. So that makes no sense to expand on an existing alien world in Sims 4,. Though I agree they could have possibly connected it with the space smuggling astronaut careers.
I live in Florida and have been to the new Star Wars land, and when I saw the trailers for this pack I just kept on thinking... wow this looks familiar.
You know, this probably would of been better as a Disney pack, with Star Wars in it, hell they could cashed in on Marvel as well since Disney owns both.

If EA hasn't listened to players (including many influential simtubers) being incredibly direct about what they want in the game and what is wrong/missing with the game, why would they use a pack that's obviously part of a deal to get such specific critiques on it? That just doesn't make sense.
I'm a huge fan of Star Wars, however I still think that this pack is kind of a bad one. I knew that it would be lacking in some aspects like I knew rabbit holes would be everywhere and stuff, however the fact that there's no lightsaber skill OR Force User occult makes me just... idk. I think that there should have been a new skill and a force user occult that could get randomly applied to sims. Another thing I don't like about this pack is that it doesn't integrate well with the rest of the game... like AT ALL. I feel like I need to make a whole new sim JUST for that world, so I'll always have low programming and low fitness. Since I've been looking into modding, I might think about making a lightsaber skill, a street smarts skill and a kind of hacking skill to compliment splicing and such. Anyway, my overall opinion is a bit negative, while it was fun to play through, I don't feel like I will touch the pack AT ALL in my other family's because of the fact that it feels like in the sims world it's exactly how it is in the real world, an amusement park. I think it would have been perfect if it was treated like how Sims Medieval was, a seperate game with it's own expansions and stuff. The fact that you can one minute be in modern day, then next minute you're in Star Wars, but you can go back any time is so immersion breaking and atmosphere breaking that it makes it feel like it should have been a standalone game. I feel like they should have release a different game pack in this place like an Equestrian game pack or literally ANYTHING else and spent 2 to 3 years making a full "The Sims: Star Wars" GAME, not game pack, but game. Just imagine that, being able to choose when it takes place, you want clone wars? Go for it, Galactic War? Go for it, First Order? Go for it. It would be so cool to pick your start like you're in Narr Shaddaar, no credits to your name just trying to live or some wealthy noble born into owning castles on another planet or you could even be like how Anakin was, a child, living with his parents when some random Jedi comes to your house and tells you that you can do good in the universe, that you're destined to be a Jedi. But yeah, closing thoughts, it's fun for around an hour or so until you beat the entire thing since there's basically nothing new. I'd wait for the price to plumet on G2A or something then buy it.
I actually think it’s kinda cool that they put in the effort to make Kylo’s face actually look like Adam Driver even though you would never see it if you play the game normally. The fact that you can buy droids is also cool. But overall I think they could have done a lot more with this DLC. The Star Wars universe is so expansive, you think they could have gone bigger and better.

I'm not crazy about StrangerVille, either. Mostly, because they could have did a better job with the world (Town area) and not crazy about the end task to be the hero. At least this game pack's world looks more interesting as well as some of the game play.

If they'd made new alien races and integrated them with gameplay, or even dealt with how meeting the rest of the galaxy would go for the sims planet (hello, spore references), I would have been so interested. It's a shame disney's so aggressive with their IP. I bet that's why you can't kill anyone, wear your own clothes, romance certain sims, build in the world, et cetera. So why partner with a sandbox game if you're not going to allow creative freedom? Poor choice for both companies.
I want the build/buy/CAS stuff from this pack with absolutely NONE of the game play. They really couldn't make a pack of decent stuff less appealing to me

Don't forget cars or spiral staircases, longer hair, more cabinets, farms, etc and they just announced that none of those things are coming to the game anytime soon.
No Mandalorians, no Jawa stealing your stuff, only TWO iconic characters, they even missed out on hilarious inside jokes like when you're a Stormtrooper you can shoot stuff but almost always miss or that Stormtroopers can't sit (at least the cosplayers can't lol). Even listening to C3PO for two hours seems more interesting than this pack.
I just wish EA brought back the other occult types or something. We getting knitting, camping, laundry and stuff like this. What's next a stamp collecting stuff pack?

Btw, I like how you didn't straight out bash the game pack but gave a good analysis of the pros and cons of this game pack. As a big SW fan, I can now see whether or not this game pack fits my idea of what a good game pack based on SW would be.
my leftover pizza is less dry than this pack! every time i'm reminded of the sims 2 or sims 3 i'm reminded how much more stuff was in there. both vacation packs gave us 3 destinations, sims 2 allowed you to add infinite extra neighborhoods. every sims 2 pack always included an occult life state. sims 3 at least offered the supernatural pack to make up for the lack of occult in a few packs. and 4 just does what it feels like, 1 occult is behind the isle pack, the other in it's own. and then they release 10 packs with no occult state. i'm thinking about just going back to sims 2 or 3. besides, i don't like Disney's take on star wars, so this pack was a no go for me from the beginning.

I wonder how much more effort it would have taken to have the sims walk up the ramp of two of the ships instead of fading out (I get the x-wing would need a custom ladder/jump in cockpit animation). Or having the rabbit hole building doors open and the sim going in before fading out. Or better yet have more fleshed out buildings like the cantina instead of rabbit holes. I suppose it's a bit unfair to compare a game pack to a full expansion pack, but aside from the base game needing more work, with an IP like Star Wars, this really could have been better with a TS3: World Adventures feel.
Could be better, but I'm so glad I will have all this Star Wars stuff on The Sims. Now I'm sure that The Child toy back some months ago was a tip from a future pack.
As a Star Wars fan, I was excited to see a Star Wars pack, but I think they missed things. I'm like: "yeah, I don't hate it, but I don't love it neither" And a simmer, it's like the sim gurus don't listen to the players a lot, we've been asking for a VERY long time improved babies, bunk beds, cars and maybe some more things that I don't remember right now. I know that cars can be difficult, knowing that the sims 4 don't have open world, but maybe the sims can get into the car and then fade out of existence, like they always do. For babies, we just don't want them to be objects. Just that. Maybe get them out of the crib, add strollers, changers and stuff like that. I hope that those more than 100K dislikes will send a message for the sims developers.
It's one of the packs that you may be hyped to play it once, and then leave it once you've completed the repetitive missions or just bored. Since a huge portion of TS4 fans is more interested in life-drama, like me, this pack didn't create much enthusiasm. And as you said, for sci-fi fantasy players, the game lacks the depth to make it a wholesome experience. The build and buy objects are something many including me won't even use when creating our homes/lots.

Honestly I think i was most dissappointed that the droids don't do anything. I kept trying to imagine what you could do with the droids in the main game outside of Batuu. I thought maybe it could be kind of like a servo, maybe it would have some basic programing and could do cleaning. I thought maybe it could act like a pet, and I could play with it and keep it around. at the bear minimum I thought maybe it could just follow me around wherever I go and do nothing. weirdly enough, it couldn't even do that. I just sits there, a little statue that does basically nothing. if you have a servo the servo can interact with it, so that's cool. Otherwise, it's just about as interesting as a statue from the decorations menu. Such a failure.
One thing that kinda disliked in the sims 4, is the vacation locations, because I really think it would be cool, if you wanted, to be able to live there, be it by buying the place or something, the pack in itself could have been worked more, or launched after they made the things that have been asked a long time, I don't know if they gave the possibility, but having lots that can be work and house would be nice too, aswell as other quality of life things they never put in the game. I question if mods will be made fixing this pack and making it better.
I think this pack will end up like my first pet stuff, it would have been better as a separate area on the home screen that says "Star Wars" or just make a whole new game itself
Please no one buy this pack... It's just one big "F you" to the Sims community. They ignored what the community wanted (bug fixes, making babies actually part of the game, cars, etc.) in favor of some low-quality cash-grab that no one asked for

Unless you're out there lifting heavy weights or doing something completely extreme, you can do lots of things while pregnant and be just fine. You can swim, play basketball, play tennis, dance, do a normal workout routine... like, where are you getting your information??? I mean, a simple google search will tell you that most exercises are safe.
I like the idea of this content but fully agree abiut Maxis and EA and their laziness in adding in more detailed animations and in depth gameplay Sims 4 is missing a lot of much needed content and for them to not listen to the community and properly inform the fan base on what they are working on is just sad. Overall for me I love star wars and I'm looking forward to playing this pack myself

Hello! This may be a random question, but at this point, I am desperate. I need a cc outfit that requires this pack. When I try to put the cheat code in to unlock all the outfits, it doesn't work. How in the WORLD do you acquire the first order rank 4 - operative outfit????? I just need that so I can use a full-body outfit for my episode. 😭😭

I think if you are going to make a star wars pack, at least make it good enough star wars fans will love it. Not think it's eh. Any specific franchise pack will only really appeal to the fans. But you have to make it worth it for those fans. For me being a huge star wars fan I thought they could have done so much better. No world to build on is my biggest problem with it. That was a major let down
Best thing about this pack is they somehow made a British simlish accent. Jokes aside it looks interesting but would've worked better as it's own thing like sims medieval.
This pack just makes me think of it being closer to a theme park that is based on star wars. The aliens aren't actual aliens, there isn't any new death, the light sabers are basically useless, and overall it seems very disappointing. It's literally like all it is, is an ad for star wars. The alien things are closer to mods/custom content than the actual fairies/werewolves mods/custom content.
What if a modder could turn this world into something completely different with the same ideas but not Star Wars. Maybe like a medieval world and you could replace the droids with mythical creatures and the factions idea would fit perfectly with something like that. I want to learn to mod so bad! Lol

Personally, I don’t find this Game Pack more special than the other packs, and after all, it’s a bit annoying when many general functions and features, that should be aren’t yet in the game, or not all have been polished to their best for a comfortable gaming experience. And I’m just saying that saying babies as an object isn't the right word to describe the problem of what they have and what they lack. I think they are rather unfinished because they feel more like a feature, which is still in Beta-or Demo state. The baby life state in The Sims 4 is like a Power aspiration in The Sims 2. Someone may have it, but not for long, so it’s a placeholder.

The fact that you can one minute be in modern day, then next minute you're in Star Wars, but you can go back any time is so immersion breaking and atmosphere breaking that it makes it feel like it should have been a standalone game. I feel like they should have release a different game pack in this place like an Equestrian game pack or literally ANYTHING else and spent 2 to 3 years making a full "The Sims: Star Wars" GAME, not game pack, but game. Just imagine that, being able to choose when it takes place, you want clone wars? Go for it, Galactic War? Go for it, First Order? Go for it. It would be so cool to pick your start like you're in Narr Shaddaar, no credits to your name just trying to live or some wealthy noble born into owning castles on another planet or you could even be like how Anakin was, a child, living with his parents when some random Jedi comes to your house and tells you that you can do good in the universe, that you're destined to be a Jedi.
But yeah, closing thoughts, it's fun for around an hour or so until you beat the entire thing since there's basically nothing new. I'd wait for the price to plumet on G2A or something then buy it.
I actually think it’s kinda cool that they put in the effort to make Kylo’s face actually look like Adam Driver even though you would never see it if you play the game normally. The fact that you can buy droids is also cool.
But overall I think they could have done a lot more with this DLC. The Star Wars universe is so expansive, you think they could have gone bigger and better.

Wow thanks, I was not going to buy it, but your review show me how ridiculous this game pack is. For a real Star Wars fan that dont take the force and the lightsaber for playtoy thing I am rather disapointed in everything in that pack, especially the time period they choose, they could have taken the republic era or the empire... but they choose the fake star wars, the new trilogy... 🤮and they choose to make lightsaber just like a parade thing, a fake thing without interest to begin with, nothing special, nothing respectable... yeah thats how the sims team AKA Star Wars fans show us their ignorant understanding of the Star Wars universe... mehhh this is never gonna make it in my game, even free of charges.
Don't even bother, this is just an in game AD for Galaxy's Edge, they don't even care about Star Wars.

I'm not crazy about StrangerVille, either. Mostly, because they could have did a better job with the world (Town area) and not crazy about the end task to be the hero. At least this game pack's world looks more interesting as well as some of the game play.
Using this will be weird, can you imagine the Landgraabs and the Goths suddenly appearing in Batuu with their modern clothing like “Why does everyone wear such baggy clothing?” lol I can’t

If they'd made new alien races and integrated them with gameplay, or even dealt with how meeting the rest of the galaxy would go for the sims planet (hello, spore references), I would have been so interested. It's a shame disney's so aggressive with their IP. I bet that's why you can't kill anyone, wear your own clothes, romance certain sims, build in the world, et cetera. So why partner with a sandbox game if you're not going to allow creative freedom? Poor choice for both companies.
I want the build/buy/CAS stuff from this pack with absolutely NONE of the game play. They really couldn't make a pack of decent stuff less appealing to me

Don't forget cars or spiral staircases, longer hair, more cabinets, farms, etc and they just announced that none of those things are coming to the game anytime soon.
They definitely need to add bands and musical instruments. I also always wanted public transportation like actual buses and subway.
No Mandalorians, no Jawa stealing your stuff, only TWO iconic characters, they even missed out on hilarious inside jokes like when you're a Stormtrooper you can shoot stuff but almost always miss or that Stormtroopers can't sit (at least the cosplayers can't lol).
Even listening to C3PO for two hours seems more interesting than this pack.

Like you say, 'A bit shallow' is a perfect way to describe this and lots of other stuff they make.
The sims should've added more into the pack such as new worlds or more places to go for missions, wars.

Yeah, let's hope Sims 5 won't have ads running all over the screen while you're playing the game, like EA recently did with one of their other games

my leftover pizza is less dry than this pack! every time i'm reminded of the sims 2 or sims 3 i'm reminded how much more stuff was in there. both vacation packs gave us 3 destinations, sims 2 allowed you to add infinite extra neighborhoods. every sims 2 pack always included an occult life state. sims 3 at least offered the supernatural pack to make up for the lack of occult in a few packs.
and 4 just does what it feels like, 1 occult is behind the isle pack, the other in it's own. and then they release 10 packs with no occult state. i'm thinking about just going back to sims 2 or 3.
besides, i don't like Disney's take on star wars, so this pack was a no go for me from the beginning.
They should have just made it a star wars theme park pack. Least they could've added rides and you could treat it as family vacation

About the fading in and out thing, you can pretend that they have a transporter like in Star Trek (only more reliable).
Just started playing the sims 4 Star Wars, really like it so far 😊
I wonder how much more effort it would have taken to have the sims walk up the ramp of two of the ships instead of fading out (I get the x-wing would need a custom ladder/jump in cockpit animation). Or having the rabbit hole building doors open and the sim going in before fading out. Or better yet have more fleshed out buildings like the cantina instead of rabbit holes.
I suppose it's a bit unfair to compare a game pack to a full expansion pack, but aside from the base game needing more work, with an IP like Star Wars, this really could have been better with a TS3: World Adventures feel.
Could be better, but I'm so glad I will have all this Star Wars stuff on The Sims.

As a Star Wars fan, I was excited to see a Star Wars pack, but I think they missed things. I'm like: "yeah, I don't hate it, but I don't love it neither"
And a simmer, it's like the sim gurus don't listen to the players a lot, we've been asking for a VERY long time improved babies, bunk beds, cars and maybe some more things that I don't remember right now. I know that cars can be difficult, knowing that the sims 4 don't have open world, but maybe the sims can get into the car and then fade out of existence, like they always do.
For babies, we just don't want them to be objects. Just that. Maybe get them out of the crib, add strollers, changers and stuff like that.
I hope that those more than 100K dislikes will send a message for the sims developers.
It's one of the packs that you may be hyped to play it once, and then leave it once you've completed the repetitive missions or just bored. Since a huge portion of TS4 fans is more interested in life-drama, like me, this pack didn't create much enthusiasm. And as you said, for sci-fi fantasy players, the game lacks the depth to make it a wholesome experience. The build and buy objects are something many including me won't even use when creating our homes/lots.
Thanks for your honest and informative review. I'm interested in the pack but will probably wait for it to come on sale. The missions do look repetitive.

Honestly I think i was most dissappointed that the droids don't do anything. I kept trying to imagine what you could do with the droids in the main game outside of Batuu. I thought maybe it could be kind of like a servo, maybe it would have some basic programing and could do cleaning. I thought maybe it could act like a pet, and I could play with it and keep it around. at the bear minimum I thought maybe it could just follow me around wherever I go and do nothing. weirdly enough, it couldn't even do that. I just sits there, a little statue that does basically nothing. if you have a servo the servo can interact with it, so that's cool. Otherwise, it's just about as interesting as a statue from the decorations menu. Such a failure.

One thing that kinda disliked in the sims 4, is the vacation locations, because I really think it would be cool, if you wanted, to be able to live there, be it by buying the place or something, the pack in itself could have been worked more, or launched after they made the things that have been asked a long time, I don't know if they gave the possibility, but having lots that can be work and house would be nice too, aswell as other quality of life things they never put in the game. I question if mods will be made fixing this pack and making it better.
why EA don't just use rocket ship to go batuu??? like Alien World of Sixam...and use normal alien npc as resident batuu

Please no one buy this pack... It's just one big "F you" to the Sims community. They ignored what the community wanted (bug fixes, making babies actually part of the game, cars, etc.) in favor of some low-quality cash-grab that no one asked for

Unless you're out there lifting heavy weights or doing something completely extreme, you can do lots of things while pregnant and be just fine. You can swim, play basketball, play tennis, dance, do a normal workout routine... like, where are you getting your information??? I mean, a simple google search will tell you that most exercises are safe.

I like the idea of this content but fully agree abiut Maxis and EA and their laziness in adding in more detailed animations and in depth gameplay Sims 4 is missing a lot of much needed content and for them to not listen to the community and properly inform the fan base on what they are working on is just sad. Hello! This may be a random question, but at this point, I am desperate. I need a cc outfit that requires this pack. When I try to put the cheat code in to unlock all the outfits, it doesn't work. How in the WORLD do you acquire the first order rank 4 - operative outfit????? I just need that so I can use a full-body outfit for my episode. 😭😭
I love this pack. The rabbit holes are annoying but. There's so much to do.I wish they wouldn't have mage it a vacation world.

I think if you are going to make a star wars pack, at least make it good enough star wars fans will love it. Not think it's eh. Any specific franchise pack will only really appeal to the fans. But you have to make it worth it for those fans. For me being a huge star wars fan I thought they could have done so much better. No world to build on is my biggest problem with it. That was a major let down

Best thing about this pack is they somehow made a British simlish accent. Jokes aside it looks interesting but would've worked better as it's own thing like sims medieval.

This pack just makes me think of it being closer to a theme park that is based on star wars. The aliens aren't actual aliens, there isn't any new death, the light sabers are basically useless, and overall it seems very disappointing. It's literally like all it is, is an ad for star wars. The alien things are closer to mods/custom content than the actual fairies/werewolves mods/custom content.
They're really showing off that they have the rights to use the Star Wars license but don't really do anything with it. And we gotta deal with it.

Personally, I don’t find this Game Pack more special than the other packs, and after all, it’s a bit annoying when many general functions and features, that should be aren’t yet in the game, or not all have been polished to their best for a comfortable gaming experience.
And I’m just saying that saying babies as an object isn't the right word to describe the problem of what they have and what they lack. I think they are rather unfinished because they feel more like a feature, which is still in Beta-or Demo state. The baby life state in The Sims 4 is like a Power aspiration in The Sims 2. Someone may have it, but not for long, so it’s a placeholder.
I bought this pack and honestly really like it. It has a lot to do but I think it would be better as a stand alone game.
So what can you do with the blasters?
