When I was a teenager I heard this song and was immediately moved by the idea of a song that was literally about the power of music and how it stirs us emotionally. Now coming back to it, the song gives me that same feeling that's it's actually talking about. It's poetic.
I saw him in concert last week in Charlotte, with Will Hoge, Mo Pitney, and others. They were all amazing. Nail has a fantastic voice, far too underrated. I hope he continues to stay true to his country soul.
I've worked in country radio for 15 years, and David is one of my favorite artists. I hope he keeps doing it HIS way. Success will find it's way to him. What a powerful performance and song.
I grew up listening to soul artist. I just discovered David Nail about 3 weeks ago from music/songs playing in the grocery store. At the time " Someone like you " sung by David Nail was playing I was hooked immediately. But I couldn't remember the entire title of the song. I keyed in part of the title here on TH-cam and boom! I found it!! Now I'm listening to all of his songs and some hits me hard and brings the tears out of me. I know he's a country artist but this is my new Soul Artist!! Songs like this are incredibly hard to find anymore....and this one definitely hits me right. I heard live on 9/9/12 in Arcola, IL and I cried twice! Once when he was singing to his wife over the phone and another time when he blew a kiss to a girl with Downe's Syndrome. I talked to her after the show and she was so sweet. She told me that David also gave her the sun glasses he was wearing. I have never seen a happier person at that time. It was amazing!
I soo agree! I think this is a different keys player, from the one named Reed that plays with him now. Both are outstanding. They have as much emotion in their playing as he does in his singing. The first song of David's I heard was "Forgiveness" and the melody and keyboard alone, brought me to tears, add in Nail's vocal and the lyric which strikes a personal note, and forget it! I'm a total wreck everytime I hear it. But then I'm that way at most all his songs!!

since david nail was good they kicked him off the radio lol they traded him in for kane brown and t rhett garb anyone who is competition in anyway is kicked away thats why u have to stay low key or that type of stuff happens and the piano come on great with that verse

Saw him in 2010 (?) On the Buckeye Cruise for Cancer. I would love to see him again. He is excellent.
