My name is Heather Symmes, this is how I cut my Mohawk! I'm self taught and have made many mistakes (still do). It's not as easy cutting it in front of a camera than it is in a mirror that's for sure :). I hope this video helps! xoxo

I've always wanted to have my hair in this style, but have been too scared to take the plunge and cut it short enough. Until I found this video, and got encouraged to just go for it. Now I couldn't be happier with my hair :D you are very inspiring for girls that would like a more alternative look, not to mention absolutely stunning! Many thanks from Manchester, keep on rocking!
One of my Brothers wants to give me a Mohawk. But, I don’t know how Mohawk would look on me. But, you look absolutely beautiful with your Mohawk! Oh, and by the way, one of my Sister’s boyfriends also wants to give me a Mohawk. Should I let them give me a Mohawk, just to try it?

Hi Heather, 54 year old woman here who up until a few months ago had long thick hair. My best feature, I would say. I had a kind of Britney moment after losing my cat of 14 years. I discovered that I love my hair short. I tried to copy you as best I could. Definitely need some practice but it has been a really great experience for me to release my dependency on my long hair. I don't exactly know how to describe it. Thanks so much for your videos. 🥰🥰🥰

Great video...I love this style on you, I must say you have a beautiful shaped head!! I've been shaving,cutting and coloring my own hair for well over 10 years...no hairdresser I have ever been to when I was younger could cut my hair exactly how I saw it in my vision so bought some clippers and hey presto! I've shaved my head completely 3 times and each time it's grown back thicker ready for my next creation! Respect!

I'm going to attempt trimming my sides for my hawk, lol your video makes it look easy enough, tired of having to pay someone to do my hair for me.
I love your hair so so much!! I got my hair cut about 4 months ago and I'm thinking about going to this hairstyle. I cut my own hair because it's just too expensive going to the hair dresser so often! Could you make a video about where to separate and part your hair when you're cutting it?

Love the makeup, really compliments the Mowhawk. So easy to put up. When my friends had one, it took ages to get it up! Sugerwater and cans of hairspray Lol !! It took me ages, esp if we were going to a gig lol. I like the softer cut you've created, it keeps your feminity and thats what makes this cut great !
Magical Bevanna I have been cutting my own hair for about 2 years now :) I made a lot of mistakes tho, it was hard in this video tho because I wasn't cutting my hair where I normally do with more mirrors and just using my computer monitor and one mirror and thank you so much :) I really appreciate it!

Lissy'sLife I have had short hair now for a little over 2 years, it was long my entire life. Usually always past my elbows. I might grow it out again one day, but for now I am having too much fun changing it up :)

This is a masterclass. I have just switched to a mohawk but find that my hair keeps falling to either side, have you used some product to allow the mohawk to fall forwards during this tutorial?

I usually clip the same length all over which is easy... but it takes time to get used to clipping your own head. Doing what THIS takes a lot of confidence with accurate hands, you gotta build up 'feel' to clip straight and even. Very nice job.
The model is so beautiful, she was meant to rock these short edgy cuts. They suit her.
Love it! bought my own wahl clippers recently for my own first hawk shave. how long would you say your hair was before you shaved it? it the perfect length i want on my sides :)

So I literally took a screen shot of your styling a faux hawk video to my stylist to get your cut! I absolutely love your hair, and you are just draw-droppingly gorgeous. I am so jealous of your thick hair! Do you have product in on this? My hair is so thin, and it didn't come out the same. The sides are longer so when trying to do a faux hawk they just go straight up (and usually fall) and its just a few thin hairs down the middle sticking up. Ug. So frustrating. Just tossed around yours looks great. I would love to save money (just had a baby!) but cutting my own. I am too nervous! Any tips?
Jax1108 thank you. yes my hair is very thick, there's definitely cons to thick hair too :) I have really fluffy hair at times. I don't have any product in this video. The healthier your hair the harder it is to style like this unfortunately unless you use a very strong product. You could use pomades or texturizer, even a hair texturizer root powder helps thin hair stay up. Hope that helps :)

I'm actually u thinking about doing this myself, I'm pretty scared but... I really like it and you've inspired me to do it. If I'm not able to get it done professionally I will do it at home. it's just idk how to cut the hair.. I have long hair and idk how I'd cut it to the length I desire.

MOOCHSNOOP this may sounds crazy but I actually use macadamia oil as hair conditioner, about a quarter size in my hand and rub it through my hair while its wet after I get out of the shower. :) hope that helps.

I've actually found a lot of the hair dressers around where I am don't know how to properly cut short hair, so I have to end up fixing some pieces myself anyways so I will probably invest in some thinning sheers, good scissors and clippers so I can cut my hair too! thanks!

This woman is GORGEOUS and can rock a hair cut like that. But I think she pulls it off because she is so striking looking. Most women would look like hell with this do. Not everone looks like a supermodel like this girl.
