- I bought the cheapest hardshell tent available in 2024 for overland camping. The Naturnest Sirius clamshell roof top tent comes in at $1099 with a shipping fee of $300 plus tax, making it a total of around $1500 out the door. Although rooftop tents are not cheap in general, this is one of the best deal for a hardshell tent. There are several soft cover tents that are cheaper, but hardshell tents are more efficient and easier to open.

Thanks for making this a great deal!
Very informative video, thanks.
This looks like a great economic clam shell. I have to say this. You provided your viewers with the most thorough review I have ever seen of any product. And. I cannot wait for future videos. I’m rigging my 4Runner for some easy over landing. Hopefully we will cross trails in the future. Take care.
Thanks, Joe! It looks like you’ve made a review or two in your time. I see from your channel that you’re in LA. I’m in mid MO, and if you ever head this way I’d like to meet up and hit some trails.
When I see all of this, I'm so much more happy with my Sheepie Bookara rooftop. It's so much better on so many points. And considering that Europe is usually more expensive, there is hardly any price difference. Thanks for your video nevertheless.
This is the exact tent I'm considering putting on my Subaru Forester Wilderness. Thanks for the thorough review.
Thanks for stopping in! Enjoy your camping adventures.
Looks like it could be the perfect addition to the jeep only time will tell
I wanted to stick one of these on that tool van I had. Very sick!
Best rooftop tent review i've ever seen...
How’s it going with the tent now that you’ve had it and used it a bit? Looking to get this one. Do you recommend getting this one?
I am giving this tent a solid consideration to purchase. But, because I will be solo, I am building a mount/dismount system for myself. Would you be able to tell me the width from inside edges of the tents mounting rails, or close guess?
Looking forward to seeing how durable the tent is.
It’s getting easier to setup now that I’ve used it a few times.
I think you’re correct about the clear plastic being a concern over time.
Time will tell, but so far it feels decently sturdy. We’ll see.
You just sold me that tent lol. Looks pretty nice !!!
You’re going to love it!
Bottom line is that you get what you pay for. That being said, for the money this will be hard to beat considering it’s half or a third of the cost of an Ikamper. The test of time will tell the tale of whether or not the budget rtt is the way to go or is it better to buy once cry once with a premium rooftop tent. Great review!
Im surprised by how little the headroom is. You would think they can add more height to this
This tent seems pretty sufficient for the price. You definitely cant beat that price for a hardshell RTT. Could another person sleep inside there with you? It looks like it, but another review would be nice to see to answer that question. Great review!
😀😀😀
A true game changer for camping comfortably with the Jeep!😎👍 Great review, Mario!
Totally agree!
Great review! I have yet to buy a rooftop tent for budget reasons. This one looks like a great first tent that dont break the bank. But would be curious to how well it keeps the dust out traveling down dirt roads?
I’m happy with it so far. I’ve only spent two nights in it, but have a few more trips planned in the next week or two. Also, it’s much easier to setup now that I’m getting used to it.
Oh I didn’t think about that should I even buy this if I’m driving hundreds of miles on dirt roads?
I’m currently building a kayak trailer from a jetski trailer and added a truck bed rack and am wondering can I mount it to the trailer I mean I know I can but I mean is the ladder adjustable because the tent would only be like 5 feet off the ground maybe less?
The ladder is adjustable. It can be any height between two feet and max. I don’t recall the max length.
Looks like you've got a sweet channel!
I saw your signature block and decided to add my link to mine. I guess it works. Thanks for the unintentional tip, and stopping in!
7:51 I like 👍 it already
I aired it out all day today. Heading out tomorrow night to test it again.
From South Africa clock in number 56 --- OK, so I've lived with a rooftop, and candidly I'm no fan.
Firstly, one cannot stealth camp with a RTT (rood top tent) , so during a road trip, unless you book into a campground you are at high risk, bear in mind, I live in one of the most dangerous contries in the world
Secondly, once you are up there, anyone who has nefarious intentions, has trapped you in
Thirdly, at 64 this past Friday, there is no way I can deal with multiple night time piddles.....and yes ,I do use a pee-bottle, but that's more for emergencies like if it's raining...
So, that's my opinion for what it's worth

I just don't have a ton of confidence with how much roof sag (and little support) there is up top. Even my softshell has tighter fabric to shed water, so I'm thinking of going to a different style. Any thoughts about the sag?
There’s a bar that pops outward to support the roof. I didn’t realize until after making the video that the two straps pull the bar taught and the sag is gone. It’s still a solid tent. And it looks much better with the cross bar fully in position.
@@OffGridAdventure Thanks for that! That helps a ton...any ideal how much clearance you need for the hard cover to tilt up & out?

For a Thousand freakn' Dollars! No Bugs Should get In!!!
No bugs yet!
I watched a bunch of videos on this tent before I purchased and Ill say that yours was the best and most informative. Good job sir 🫡
How do you like your tent?
They sold out pretty quick after your original video
Might’ve been someone else, but I see they sold out recently. They have a new batch on the way. It’s hard to keep a good deal in stock.
8:29 should keep you safe from coyotes way up there
Absolutely!
Reckon it can fit 2 adults and 2 little kids?
Not this one. You could possibly, but it would be a tight fit.
@@OffGridAdventure Will it fit 2 adults (5.4ft & 5ft) and a 8 year old?
@@khanhnvo I think it would be a tight fit, but it could work if you’re comfortable being tight and cozy. Long term the “three” version would be a better fit.
Thule >>> Too-Lee :)
Better be 10.99$ not 1099$
That would be a heck of a deal.
Maybe for a toy sized jeep!
We’re not toddlers we can see a key in the packaging and remove it and we don’t need to know it’s in your pocket shut up
