My mom drove a V40 version which was an absolute hoot to drive. All black, grey leather interior, she even got the 18” wheels lol. Mom was hot rodding in her Volvo back then

@@Tzalmavet correct. older Focus RS and ST 2.5Ts were Volvo engines. The modern ones use Ford 2.3T eco boosts worse than the 2.5s imo. so other than RS3 I'm not sure anyone is doing 5 cylinders now.
i really enjoyed my stock v50 T5 with the 6 speed manual, it was AWD with all around independent suspension it was a very nice car before it got wrecked :(

Love that interior!! I own an S60 2.4 NA with a high flow cat + intake and the sound is very similar. Mine sounds a little more aggressive though, but that thing is incredibly fast WOW

the turbo muffles the sound, which can be a good thing. i have 04 s60 t5 with around 350hp only one muffler, no cat and its surprisingly quiet, although if i would remove the one muffler it becomes really obnoxious and sounds like trash lol

No, it is the other way around! The Ford Focus RS has a Volvo 5 cylinder engine. Ford didn't do 5 cylinders but Volvo has been since the introduction of the 850.
Actually, wheel base is the same iirc. Mazda 3, Ford Focus, and Volvo S40 all used Ford's C1 platform. That's one of the reasons why you can drop the AWD out of the S40 and stick it in straight into the Focus Mk2. 😊
Had a 960 2.9 6 cyl, a S60 2.4 , a V70 2.4 turbo and a XC70D5 (tuned), and also a S40 1.8. but that one I kept for my lads to drive in. Nowadays I got a XC40, 4 cyl. and a battery somewhere and a big LCD screen....It is labeled Volvo, it is not even AWD, it is boring and it sucks. This video makes me want to buy a proper Volvo again!

Are you interested in a GTI 7.5 Stage 2+? I have a custom intake, downpipe, middle silencer straight piped and Software. About 320 HP and 306 Nm. Runs 300. Manual gearbox.
I have also an S40 T5 2005, fwd but almost stock, no mods, just a tune and an empty exhaust, mine is cameleon. I wonder if the one you are driving has the cylinder sleeve with that hp.
Highly recommend switching to MaxxECU. Great integration on the C30 and far easier to get tuned *WELL* than the stock ECU. Most if not all the big power C30s are now running Maxx for this reason.
Man, I wonder what they would think about my Volvo. Kind of been thinking about submitting it, but it needs some work, is probably not quite as cool and it is a bit of drive (from Sweden).
Also had a tuned S40 T5, nice car but even with B14 suspension so bad control. My V40 D4 has more grip and stability stock. Now with adjusted suspension so much better. To the owner, first next upgrade would be to change the intake manifold, this one will crack and limits air intake
You should start doing a honk check with every car to compare honking sounds.
