    Just bought one from Grantham Honda👍 having test driven first. Had 66 Civic Mk 9 1.4 , this model is far superior, was expecting very little from the engine, what a surprise, goes like a relative rocket and is a great sized family car. Amazing car all round. Had no second thoughts about part ex the 1.4. Well done Honda and a big thanks to Jason at Grantham Honda.

      Ha I'm watching this video because I'm thinking about buying a Honda from Grantham to get rid of my rubbish Hyundai 🙈 how is the civic 1 year later?

      @@Convie Hi, The Civic has now done 13500 miles and has proved to have been a good buy. It has been very reliable never let us down the only niggle has been the traffic ahead warning system which warns constantly of traffic ahead when it is raining below 8 mph in first gear! Still on original tyres despite some spirited driving. It has been used on long journeys and on short hops and really is a Jack of all modes. Still can’t get over the performance out of the 1000 cc engine, and it has a nice growl when you wind it up! For the size car it still ticks a lot of boxes for my family of four, plenty of room in the back and comfortable on long trips. Getting high 30’s when thrashed and high 40’s when driving ‘normally’! I have Since tested the 1500, nice car but seemed a bit harsh in comparison and a lot more £, on balance I would definitely buy another 1.0 litre Civic.

      @@johnanderson2708 thanks so much! It's a 1.0 I'm looking at, I had a 2008 1.8 civic a while back and remember testing the 1.4 before and being super annoyed with its lack of power so was worried about this knowing I couldn't test drive it 🙈

    Ive recently purchased a 2019 civic 1.0T sportline in orchid white pearl and im really glad i went for the 1.0T over 1.5T with the issues that are appearing such as oil dilution and head gasket problems etc etc ....and because the 1.6 diesel is no longer available as new car order purchase this is the best out of the two petrol engines...
    Yes the 1.0T is down on power compared to the 1.5T unit but if you work the 1.0T engine just right....it kinda makes the 1.5T unit rendering it pointless, especially with a great little sound and excellent economy and havent heard or seen any mechanical issues with this 1.0T unit because this engine is the old P10A2 unit just with a turbo charger.
    My previous car was a 2012 cobalt blue Honda Accord 2.2 i-DTEC (brilliant car) it was the CONTINUAL issues with DPF that killed its ownership for me so i got rid of it and bought the civic instead and havent had any issue's with it and the missus nick-named it the little beast 😁

    I have a 20 year old 3 cylinder 1 litre Vauxhall Corsa which I love and use every day. It has a sun roof.
    If it fails in the next few years I will definitely look for this Honda which has a sun roof too.

    I tested both 1.0 manual and 1.5 CVT and we (three of us) like 1.0 more. It sounds better and it's less noisy. Only complaint is infotainment which seems outdated already and it doesn't come with full LED headlights lower than EX trim (and you can't tick it as extra). What do you think of infotainment. Is it pain to use it in everyday driving?

    Basic engine at that money is too much. Too expensive. By the way where is the accord. Honda neglects the european market. Shame on them. I'd no longer buy a honda.

    • @TheAutoDad
      @TheAutoDad  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I find it more than a basic engine. Gives plenty of poke and is apparently very reliable. No Accord currently, but there are rumours it’s returning!

    • @doctorferdinand1003
      @doctorferdinand1003 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honda used to develop two Accords, one for the North American market and the rest for Europe / Japan. The smaller EU/Asia spec Accord is basically the same size as the modern civic. My guess is Honda decided that the Euro Accord and the new 10th gen civic are too close in size and purpose to warrant developing a new Accord and maybe the U.S Spec is too large / expensive to sell on a large scale in Europe.
