The program draws inspiration from the great female warriors of myth, viewed through the lens of Baroque composers. Mezzo-soprano Lea Desandre explores the fascinating ways that composers treat their Amazonian characters, particularly interesting figures in that they embody a "male/female" duality. The recordings feature three special guests: Cecilia Bartoli and Véronique Gens appear in separate duets with Lea, and William Christie features on harpsichord in a piece by Couperin.

I'm usually not a fan of operatic vibrato, but something about her voice is just amazing even to me
Maybe because she has just a unique and beautiful way of using the vibrato. One example: please go back to 0’26’’ she end on one note and holds it till 0’31’’ and not using any vibrato at all, completely straight, perfectly in tune, and then starts very dynamic vibrato for around two secs. Wonderful!!
The beauty here is that she holds back on the vibrato, so many singers spoil this kind of music by over doing it!
@@mrbigarms the thing also is that holding back the vibrato requires perfect tuning. And Lea Desandre is always in perfect tuning and resonance with the ensemble.
@@mrbigarms This is because she is singing in baroque style, baroque singing has a different technique and require more clear and straight phrases, this doesn't mean that vibrato isn't use, it's just used more rarely and with a different intensity

une des choses les plus fascinantes au-delà de la maîtrise de la justesse vocale, c est de voir les expressions sur le visage de Léa et des autres musiciens (nes) changer pendant les variations ..quelle beauté ces humains....et dire que le 80 % de la population est con comme un balai..ne réfléchis jamais par lui même , mais pour lui même..ou pour les autres, l humain qui ressent sans cesse le besoin de se faire commander, devient croyant et donc, Croit tout ce qu on lui dit si on lui dit que c est pour le sauver (ego et peur mélangée ) (l espoir) être dans l attente..stratagème d ingénierie sociale ecclésiastique..'etre dans l attente..de : etc etc.. "UNE ENERGIE MORTE PAR DéFINITION", ou pour sauver les autres (doctrine de la tyrannie du bien)..., à peur de tout et surtout de celui ou celle qui ne lui ressemble pas physiquement ou que la couleur de peau n est pas la même, il est complétement ignorant de ce qui est réellement important pour vivre une belle vie, de ce fait hyper flemmard, vicieux, envieux, jaloux, colérique, égocentrique, mauvais joueur, mauvais perdant...naif, candide, rancunier, irréfléchis, impulsif, violent, méchant. ça c est l humain 1.0..il y a une version qui à été mise à jour récemment et qui as de la peine à fonctionner correctement sur les systèmes d exploitations V1.0..il est fortement recommandé de coder son propre système d exploitation. et de pourvoir lui implanté les toutes dernières fonctionnalités^^^comme la prise de conscience..et le module qui empêche aux autres de venir te hacker tes propres pensées...c est un pare feu qui s appelle le bon sens, la capacité à regarder les gens non pas comme des fonctionnalités stupides qui deviendront des outils et des gardiens du (6tm=ego=système) mais comme des petits frères et des petites soeurs, qui n étaient pas là quand on expliquait comment réfléchir par soi même et faire l expérience de la vie sans faire du mal aux autres, et à soi même.. si il suffisait de s asseoir comme sadghuru le dit ...ça ferait longtemps que la masse servile serait inversée..et deviendrait alors le 20 % des personnes complétement stupides et le 80 % de personnes conscientes..............

Very nice, really, the singer's voice is rich and warm. It is good that her "direction" with her hands does not disturb the musicians as they cannot play according to that. :-)

The final touch of the bells adds one more bit of joy to the ensemble's beautiful accompaniment. Please post the libretto--as I couldn't find any of the text from this opera elsewhere online.
